Ever since Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach won our 3rd Miss Universe crown, it makes any Throwback Thursday post for Bb. Pilipinas Gold even sweeter. The five winners contributed separately to the equivalent of a golden haul of victories with one Miss Universe, one Miss International and one Miss Supranational. Add to that a 3rd Runner-Up finish at Miss Universe and a Top 10 placement in Miss Tourism International Queen and the values become even greater.
It makes you think about the positive benefits of re-joining because experience and maturity really add up to the more progressive disposition of a determined candidate. Nowadays, being 25 is the most ideal age to want to win Miss Universe Philippines.
The Bb. Pilipinas 2013 winners produced a Miss Universe, a Miss International, a Miss Supranational, a Miss Universe runner-up and a Top 10 MTQI finisher!
Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach was the only winner in the Top 5 of Bb. Pilipinas 2013 who was not issued crown jewels being the sole runner-up. But it must have been written in the stars that she will eventually win and wear the best one after two years – the Miss Universe DIC art deco-inspired gems itself.
But there is more to Pia’s win that made the titleholders of Bb. Pilipinas Gold more special. It produced our 5th Miss International (Bea Rose Santiago), our first Miss Supranational (Mutya Johanna Datul) and a Miss Universe runner-up (Ariella Arida). In addition, this batch had the last recorded Philippine paricipant in Miss Tourism Queen International with Cindy Miranda placing in the Top 10. Tally-wise, this quintet edged out the equally-successful 2012 counterpart simply because it had more victories than top placements. It also eclipsed the reigning group in terms of collection.
Let us now reminisce on the crowning moments of Bb. Pilipinas Gold more than two years ago. 🙂

In this, the October issue of FHM Philippines, Photographer Doc Marlon Pecjo shot three beauty queens who fill the cover with their undeniable sexiness and gorgeousness overload.
Bb. Pilipinas Tourism 2013 Cindy Miranda, Bb. Pilipinas World 2008 Danielle Castano and Miss World Philippines 2012 Queenierich Rehman make up the “bomb squad” or perhaps, a more figurative play of words to allude to the sex bomb aura of the three ladies.
Grab your copy of the issue now (it will be out in your favorite newsstands and bookstores starting today). The inside photo spread will pump up the heat even more. 😉

Looks like the 2015 edition will be pushing through after all
The pageant's Facebook status update yesterday
A photo during the last MTQI
This should be good news for one of the Bb. Pilipinas 2015 runners-up after the organizers of Miss Tourism Queen International announced in their Facebook page thst the 2015 edition of the pageant will happen from October 28 to November 9 in Wenzhou, China.
So who gets first priority for the same? 1st Runner-Up Hannah Ruth Sison, of course. Not unless, Bb. Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) gave up on the franchise after acquiring Miss Grand International and Miss Globe. But methinks it is still with them.
Is it time to jump for joy for our potential representative? Maybe after BPCI releases a Press Statement naming the Binibini going to Mainland China more than a month from now. 😉

Jonas (center with cake) with some of his Mercator talents
During yesterday’s celebration of Jonas Gaffud’s natal day, Wafu Greenhills was cordoned off from the walk-in customers. After all, the beautiful guests of the birthday celebrant were more than enough to really crowd the place. Add to that his exclusive talents with Mercator and the whole dinner scene was at its brightest.
I won’t go into another enumeration of the beauty queens who were around. Let the captions of the images above tell who attended (Janine Tugonon is in the US). But the Head of Aces&Queens was simply overwhelmed with the shower of greetings, well-wishes and all-around love and affection from everyone. 🙂
Happy Birthday again, Mama J!

Jonas Gaffud and one of his top models Sam Ajdani
Mercator Artist and Model Management has much to be thankful for. And one way of showing it is to hold a Models’ Night to gather all the beautiful and handsome talents for a night of fun, food, drinks and swimming!
At Valkyrie’s Palace Pool Club in BGC last Friday, Jonas Gaffud was the most gracious host as he welcomed his guests and made sure that every single one of them is having a good time. The list of attendees is long, but part of it includes Bb. Pilipinas beauties Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, Christi Lynn McGarry, Ann Colis, Kim Suiza and Cindy Miranda. The models are in full force with the likes of Sam Ajdani, Kurt Viray, Richard Juan, Vince Ferraren, AJ Winkler, Brodie Nero, Tohi Ajdani, Cassandra Naidas, Alaiza Malinao, Jasmine Maierhofer present.
Of course, the members of the working team behind Mercator are accounted for. The mood was all-out partying with a big splash. And nobody went home without getting a little or totally wet. 🙂

Oh, and yes, there was swimming as well.
Let us look back at how the outgoing Queens from the Bb. Pilipinas 2014 finals night delivered their farewell speeches as they traversed the entire stage of Araneta Coliseum.
Time really flies so fast. The Bb. Pilipinas 2014 Queens will be doing theirs tonight. Will the tone be emotionally grateful? Or will MJ Lastimosa, Bianca Guidotti, Kris Tiffany Janson, Yvethe Santiago and Parul Shah choose to be joyfully positive?
I’m expecting both. 🙂
