It was a successful staging of the 37th Flores de Mayo 2016 at the SM Mall of Asia yesterday afternoon till early evening. Thirty (30) designers – all members of the Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines and the Congrecacion del Santisimo Nombre Del Niño Jesus – showed off their best creations while paying homage to the Virgin Mary and the Glorious Mysteries of the Holy Rosary.
Announced as Rosa Mystica is Joyce Ann Ricio wearing a Rholand Roxas number that is intricately-detailed from the crown all the way down to the train. Coming in as Reina de las Flores is Bb. Pilipinas 2016 alumna Jeslyn Santos who gave justice to the oh-so breathtaking Louis Pangilinan white ensemble that takes a wide circumference of the stage and the floor area to navigate around. La Flor de Manila is gorgeous Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International 2015 Leren Mae Bautista in an elegant red Filipiniana that she paraded around with such pride and joy. Completing the four winners are Magandang Pilipina Stephany Stefanowitz who was dressed by Designer Vince Sityar in another red original that the wearer handled with such ease and sophiatication.
Here are photos taken by your blogger and Joy Arguil.

True to the promise of BPCI, Filipino designers were given the spotlight during the finals last Sunday night. And prior to that, the National Costume Competition also showcased their creativity. So allow me to feature a photo blog of fifteen of the evening gowns, including the new titleholders, runners-up and the rest of the Binibinis in the Top 15.

Consider this a 2-in-1 post about our ladies in Miss Supranational 2015 and Miss Earth 2015.
Over the weekend, Miss Philippines Rogelie Catacutan competed in the preliminary swimsuit competition of her pageant in Poland. And she looks quite fetching in the orange two-piece she wore for the judging.
Meanwhile, another Miss Philippines, Angelia Ong, had her official National Costume photo released in Vienna. As previously blogged, she is wearing a Chico Estiva original inspired by the Sampaguita flower.
Many significant things will happen this week for both. The finals of both competitions will come one after the other. December 4 for Supra and December 5 for Earth.
Will both Rogelie and Angelia successfully prevail? We’ll see! 😉
Leren Mae Bautista had a successful homecoming in Los Baños

Newly-crowned Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia-Pacific International 2015 Leren Mae Bautista is still on Cloud 9 after her victory last August 2. And during her homecoming motorcade around Los Baños, Laguna earlier, she was visibly elated with all the love and cheers showered upon her by everyone. And nobody could be prouder than her discoverer/handler Chico Estiva and trainer Ghune Katigbak who joined hands to insure that their bet came fully prepared for the pageant.
Now, Leren can look forward to her pageant mission in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for Miss Tourism International 2015 come December. And by the looks of it, I believe we have another golden chance of winning the bigger competition.
Don’t you agree, dear readers? 🙂
