Gabriela Kratochvilova is so Emma Watson-ish in the left pic.
I would be floored, but at the same time thrilled seeing a Miss Universe who is styled like this.
Honestly, I was of the given notion that Miss Universe Czech Republic 2013 Gabriela Kratochvilova will grow her hair long enough just in time for Miss Universe in Moscow this coming November.
But at the rate that her latest pictures are coming out left and right, it appears that Gabriela is bent on invading Russia with short tresses and a look so modern that could test the pageant’s attitude towards a potential winner who exudes more spunk than swank.
If you ask me, I’m very much ready to see a Miss Universe titleholder who exudes a far more different vibe – edgy if you will – than what the usual profile suggests. And I think the Miss Universe Organization could benefit positively – be it through publicity or social network buzz or favorable sentiments from the constantly-evolving pageant-watching global audience. Unless the Latin American market reacts with a frown, that is. 😉
Long, flowing tresses are usually staples for beauty queens. Rarely do we encounter crowned winners sporting fashionably short hair. So I find it refreshing that Ceska Miss 2013 Gabriela Kratochvilova was able to pull off a well-deserved victory as Czech Republic’s official representative to Miss Universe 2013.
The Emma Watson-deadringer, who partly vacationed with the 9 other finalists in the Philippines prior to her win, will try to raise the bar in the big competition.
By now, the short hair has already grown long (see photo below) and the vibe has slightly changed. If you ask me, I really love the old Gabriela with the clean look and aura. But who knows, she might be styled back to our liking once MU2013 nears its actual period of candidates’ arrivals in a still unannounced venue.
How about you, dear readers? Do you like her hair long or short? 😉

The ten finalists of Ceska Miss 2013 arrive in Manila.
It’s certainly nice to know that the Top 10 finalists of Miss Czech Republic 2013 are in the Philippines as part of their pre-pageant activities. It’s nothing new to the organization since they have always sent their ladies abroad for out-of-Europe photoshoots and bonding. And the whole partnership helps the Department of Tourism’s “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” campaign by extending its reach to Central Europe as the ladies visit such places as Palawan, Subic and Pampanga to use our pristine beaches and tourist spots as more than backdrops for the competition itself – clearly a win-win situation for both countries.
The ten lovelies are Denisa Grossmannova, Marketa Bfizova, Lucie Kovandova, Monika Leova, Kristyna Schickova, Anna Avakjanova, Alena Presnajderova, Ztuzana Jarackova, Andrea Kolarova and Gabriela Kratochvilova.
Perhaps, it also helped seal the deal that the Philippines is where Czech Republic won its latest international beauty crown via Teresa Fajksova (who will also be one of the judges during the national finals come March) in last year’s Miss Earth.
Let’s hope everything runs smooth during the ladies` stay. We want them to enjoy the vacation-cum-pre-pageant-cum-training camp to the fullest.
So as we all say…Mabuhay! Welcome to the Philippines! 😀
