Yesterday was a busy period as the Press Presentation of Miss Global Philippines 2015 took place at the Hotel Rembrandt in Quezon City from late morning till early afternoon, followed by the Miss Republic of the Philippines 2015 Screening at Fisher Mall which extended till early evening.

Twenty-two (22) lovely delegates were presented to the media as the roster that will have the successor of Miss Global Philippines 2014 Catherine Almirante crowned come September 5 at the City of Dreams (with a scheduled telecast over at ABS-CBN).

In the batch, two (2) familiar ladies formed part of the trio declared as “Darlings of the Press” and were thus installed as early favorites. There is Candice Ramos, a former part of Miss Philippines Earth 2012 elemental court and Meryl Angeline King, our Miss Tourism World representative in Thailand, also in 2012. They were joined by Maureen Sia as the ones who really caught the attention of everyone with their charm.

The winner of Miss Global Philippines 2015 will be the host delegate for Miss Global 2015 to be hosted here in Manila come October. And her eventual runners-up will also have their respective pageant assignments abroad later on.

Last Saturday, the final screening of Miss Global Philippines 2015 was held at Hotel Rembrandt in Quezon City. Twenty-five (25) ladies stepped up to the plate and brought their A-game for the screening committee that will select this year’s Official Candidates. Pageant organizers led by Pauline Sofia Laping and Stephany Stefanowitz were around to oversee the activity, together with Miss Global Philippines 2014 Catherine Almirante, 2nd Runner-Up Lorraine Erum and Miss Summer International Philippines 2014 Athena Catriz. By the way, a second part of the final screening was held yesterday for those who were unable to come due to the inclement weather.

Watch out for the Presentation of this year’s batch which is considered extra special because the winner will become the host delegate of the bigger Miss Global 2015 which will be hosted here in Manila and scheduled to take place at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Resorts World Manila come October 24.

All the candidates went by code names (men’s cologne scents in this case) but it really didn’t matter to the judges because the objective was to find the most deserving gay man to become the winner of the Thirteenth Annual Search for Mr. Fahrenheit 2015. Together with my fellow jurors (Miss Global Philippines 2014 Catherine Almirante, Slimmers World Miss Bikini Philippines 2014 Hazel Ortiz, noted photographer Gelbert Aplal and Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2014 Kris Tiffany Janson), your blogger scored the 25 candidates according to how well they presented themselves in sports wear, swimwear and formal wear and the all-important Q&A that definitely made the eventual winners shine.

The contestant who went by the name of ‘Zorro’ (Christian Lacsamana in real life) was one of the top leaders all throughout. He even got Best in Swimwear. But it was during Top 10 and Top 5 where he clearly stamped his class as he delivered answers that were both articulate and well-thought of. When he quoted an article in the Philippine Constitution for his answer about LGBT discrimination concerns in the country, the title was practically in the bag. And I was no longer surprised that the 29 year-old did well, being a MAPEH Grade 7 teacher at San Juan High School in Mexico, Pampanga

Four other finalists – 1st Runner-Up ‘Calvin Klein’ (Jhapett Raymundo), 2nd Runner-Up ‘Perry Ellis’ (Kenneth Balboa, who got Best in Sport Wear and Formal Wear), 3rd Runner-Up ‘Prada Milano’ (Jose Diaz) and ‘Hummer’ (Jose Ricamonte Karganilla) stayed in the hunt till the wee hours of Sunday morning.

There will be a one-day Pampanga screening for Miss Global Philippines 2015 tomorrow from 2:00PM-onwards. Do check out the details on the left for the specific venue in San Fernando and where you can get the application forms prior.

So if you’re from the provinces of Pampanga, Bulacan, Tarlac and Pangasinan, here’s your chance to sign up for Miss Global Philippines 2015 without having to travel all the way to Manila just yet. Just make sure you have the requirements for submission (indicated above) and attires to bring along in order to facilitate the process. 😉

Here’s another beauty pageant for you, beautiful ladies, out there.

Miss Global Philippines 2015 – now on its 2nd year – is now open for screening. Last year’s inaugural was a success with the crowning of Catherine Almirante as the top winner and extending her triumph by placing 2nd Runner-Up in the Miss Global 2014 World Finals which took place inside a Royal Princess cruise ship that sailed from the US to Mexico. Three of four members of her court also went on to represent the country internationally. There is Athena Catriz who won 3rd Runner-Up in Miss Summer International, Cindy Madumma who participated in Miss Tourism World hosted in Venezuela and Lorraine Erum who flew to the island of Fiji for the World Supermodel 2015 competition.

National Director Pauline Laping and Operations Manager Stephany Stefanowitz (Miss Air 2013) promise to make this year’s search bigger than the last, reason why they can’t wait to see the promising ladies who will join the beeline for 2015.

Miss Global 2014 Ela Mino

Ela Mino of Canada was elected Miss Global 2014 in a finals held inside the Crown Princess Cruise before making its final port of call in Mexico.

Ela, who was a former Miss Universe Canada participant, was elated with the victory.

Miss Global Philippines Catherine Almirante, on the other hand, will not go home unplaced. She held her own till the end and managed to score 2nd Runner-Up honors – aside from a string of special awards – in a fairly competitive field of candidates.

Congratulations, Ela! And kudos to our bet Catherine for giving a noteworthy performance overall. 🙂

image Today, Miss Global Philippines 2014 Catherine Almirante will begin her quest for the Miss Global 2014 as she boards a cruise ship set to sail from L.A. to Mexico. For one whole week, she and the other candidates will begin an exciting discovery of Mexico which will culminate in the crowning of a new queen on December 19 before reaching the final port of destination.

Cagayan de Oro's Pride will take part in Miss Global 2014

Catherine Marie Almirante of Cagayan de Oro City has been crowned Miss Global Philippines 2014 at the Newport Performing Arts Theatre of Resorts World Manila. She will now start preparing for the assignment of representing the country in Miss Global 2014, happening aboard the Crown Princess cruise ship sailing from Los Angeles, CA all the way to Mexico (Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas) come December.

On the way to the crown, Catherine was challenged by fellow candidate Sirene Sutton all the way. But in the end, it was the former who grabbed the advantage during the Q&A, with the latter becoming a runner-up.

Congratulations, Catherine! And get ready for Miss Global 2014! 😀

Tonight at Resorts World Manila, we shall find out who will win Miss Global Philippines 2014 and become the country’s bet to the Miss Global 2014 international finals scheduled to happen in style aboard the Crown Princess cruise ship to sail from Los Angeles, California to Mexico (Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas) this coming December 12-20, 2014.

Among the Official Candidates, I am putting my confidence in a group of six (6) ladies I have short-listed from the roster. They are (in this preferred order): Sirene Sutton, Catherine Almirante, Lorraine Erum, Christine Bernasor, Girlie Layon and Ferina de Paz. Possible spoilers I can see are Anngeli Ong, Rozette Pablo and Crystal Alday.
