This is the best year to travel to Mainland China – Shanghai in particular. The 2010 World Expo will formally open its doors to the public come May 1 and will run till October 31, 2010. Let me just say first how amazed I truly am with all the constructions that have been ongoing for the big event which is being touted as the ‘biggest world expo in history.’
See for yourself. The pictures below are just some of the international pavilions in the said expo that are nearing completion of their construction phase. The architecture of each are, quite simply, visual treats that bring new meaning to creativity.
The UK Pavilion - Workers are seen at the Seed Cathedral, part of the UK Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo site. The 20-meter-high cube-like Seed Cathedral will be covered by 60,000 slim, transparent acrylic rods, which will quiver in the breeze.
