During yesterday’s finals of Miss World 2019, one can already sense that Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica 🇯🇲 was the favored one to win. Aside from having a warm and giving personality that fits the pageant’s #BWAP brand, she also has the excellent singing talent that can be fully utilized in all of her public appearances worldwide. On a side note, she got the most exposure among the 111 candidates all throughout the telecast as well.
Congratulations, Toni Ann!
Aside from getting a guaranteed spot in the Miss World 2019 Top 40, our Miss World Philippines Michelle Dee also made the Top 30 cut in the #BeautyWithAPurpose segment of the competition. If she keeps her bid on an upswing and hopefully reaches the official Top 5 in the Finals, she will be interviewed by no less than Piers Morgan. Let’s hope that she does because I know that she can hold her own once the judging goes right down to the wire.
Keep it up, Michelle!

Please watch the entire #BeautyWithAPurpose video featuring Miss World Philippines Katarina Rodriguez below and be touched with her project for the devastated City of Marawi.
But before you click, here are just a few sidelights that went into the filming of the same:
1) The part in the beginning where Katja is walking is ground zero of the Marawi Crisis. It is not safe until now since inside those houses and buildings are mines that still remain unexploded.
2) The church shown on Day 3 is the established fortress of ISIS which has an underground dwelling.
3) Katja wrote the script all by herself with just a few edits from Benj Gabitan because of the sheer length of her writings.
4) Katja thought of this even before winning Miss World Philippines. Last year, she already started raising funds from Katarina’s Closet and Bazaar which was donated to “Save The Children for Marawi”.
Miss World Philippines 2017 Candidate Jona Sweett
With the Ati kids of Aklan
Miss World Philippines 2017 Candidate #6 Jona IliSweett is representing her Province of Aklan in the competition. And from this place – known for having Boracay as its most popular destination – stems her Beauty With A Purpose Project geared towards looking out for the Ati Komunidad
(Aetas) children and families who are in danger of being left out in the cold and displaced from the small piece of land they call their home. She wants to push for their protection as well.

Catriona Gray and her Bright Beginnings Project
A sneak into Catriona’s BWAP Project. Click above to read more about it
There’s nothing quite like the Beauty With A Purpose Project of the Miss World Organization (MWO) and Miss World Philippines to bring out the best and most idealistic among our beautiful ladies aiming to get a shot at the opportunity to further their personal advocacies and add an extra kick of human essentials in their quest for the crown. After all, with beauty comes power. And with power comes responsibility. That is exactly what Catriona Gray hopes to establish with her project, aptly called “Bright Beginnings
The heart of the advocacy remains close to the heart of Catriona – education. And with the help of Young Focus, she wants to initially give the children of Smokey Mountain a chance to transform their minds into more learned individuals by providing preschool education to the young ones who are being pushed to survival mode instead of enriching their minds with the much-needed education to start them off in the journey towards becoming more knowledgeable members of the society.
Read more about Catriona’s “Bright Beginnings” HERE. And you will understand why she is committed to give her 150% in getting the Miss World Philippines 2016 crown and putting more meat into the true essence of hopefully becoming our next Miss World representative. 🙂

Lorraine attends to a feeding program for the malnourished children of Dumaguete City.
In her Facebook Page
, Lorraine Kendrickson uploaded the photo on the left with the following caption:
“So happy I was able to attend the feeding program for the malnourished children of Dumaguete. Earlier this afternoon, I was in Barangay Tinago and Barangay Looc. This project is spearheaded by the City Nutrition Office under the Office of the Mayor. This is a daily program throughout the city. Coincidentally, the month of July is Nutrition Month. Thank you Sir Woodrow Maquiling Jr. and Dumaguete Tourism for this opportunity”
So without assuming too much, could the above activity be a preview of her BWAP (Beauty With A Purpose) Project for Miss World Philippines 2014? You see, the ladies who have earlier signified their intention of joining Ms. Cory Quirino’s pageant have been busying themselves with an assortment of charity-related activities of late. And in a beauty competition where all important bases need to be covered with a fine-tooth comb, nothing can be left to chance.
And Lorraine is not about to let up on the preparation. 😉
