During last weekend’s Marry Me at Marriott Fashion Show, five (5) of our top designers – Rajo Laurel, Randy Ortiz, JC Buendia, Rhett Eala and Frederick Peralta – unveiled their respective bridal collections that coincided with the official launch of the Marriott Grand Ballroom which is reputed to be the biggest in the country today.
And in line with the event, I paired some of the pieces in the five different collections as worn by familiar faces in the pageant and modeling industry. Take your picks among the three pairs and tell me which bridal style would suit your taste if your were to walk down the aisle. 🙂

Would you go French chic with a Rajo Laurel (on Kylie Verzosa) or Rhett Eala (on Vanessa Mae Walters)?
Would you prefer non-traditional colors like these Frederick Peralta creations on Monika Sta. Maria (in black and white) and Anja-Vanessa Peter (in light mocha)?
Or will you stick to white but go all-out like the Rhett Eala flowery (worn by Catriona Gray) or Randy Ortiz quiet elegance (on Jodilly Pendre)?
Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2015 Rogelie Catacutan during the Dairy Queen TVC Press Launch (Photo credit: Bruce Casanova)
What’s up with Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2015 Rogelie Catacutan nowadays? A lot. Aside from fulfilling her duties and responsibilities to BPCI, our lovely Cebuana
has been constantly devoting much of her free time from personal appearances and the like to constant workouts in the gym and dedicated fitness training with Bench Ortiz of Gold’s Gym. And this girl doesn’t mind if she’s not hitting 100% energy and perkiness during her scheduled sessions. She knows fully well that there is no room for laziness whatsoever.
Rogelie’s eyes are on Krakow, Poland and how she will transform herself to the ultra-competitive Philippine representative for Miss Supranational 2015 scheduled on December 4 at the Sports Hall in Krynica-Zdroj for the second year in a row. But prior to that, all pre-pageant activities will take place in the Malopolska Region (or Lesser Poland) where Krakow is the capital city.

Keep up with the instilled discipline, Rogelie, and you will definitely reap the rewards of your hard work before Christmas this year!
I know that you want to continue bringing more honor to your fellow Cebuanos and the rest of the country. And your Tito @normant will be supporting you all the way!
Our Bb. Pilipinas 2015 Queens during the ‘Gift of Smiles’ Mega Mission
Our Bb. Pilipinas 2015 Queens dressed for the job
Our Bb. Pilipinas 2015 Queens resumed their commitment to Operation Smile Philippines
this week when they showed up for the ‘Gift of Smiles’ Mega Mission
– a surgical mission benefiting children and young adults with cleft lip and palate. No room for queasiness here as all Binibinis present – Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, Janicel Lubina, Rogelie Catacutan, Ann Colis, Hannah Ruth Sison and Kim Suiza – gamely suited up to their clean scrubs and assisted the volunteer doctors (most of them looking adorably cute, by the way
) in the medical procedures.
As an added bonus, the smiling Binibinis got to assist a cute doctor in the procedures!
More cute doctors for our Bb. Pilipinas 2015 Queens
Our Binibinis are smiling because they are happy sharing their time for Operation Smile
And when our Binibinis clown around for the camera, they do so without reservations

You can really tell that our Bb. Pilipinas 2015 Queens enjoy their frequent charity visits for the missions of Operation Smile Philippines
Don’t you think it’s time to do your share of help by giving a donation to their worthy cause? 😀
P.S. All photos in this post were beautifully shot by Bruce Casanova.
During last week’s Veluz S/S 2015 Bridal Show, two (2) of the models particularly stood out because of their beautiful faces and shining aura. And they are familiar names as well – Bb. Pilipinas 2015 Official Candidate Alaiza Malinao and Asia’s Next Top Model S3 contender Monika Sta. Maria.
Monika-wise, we’re still unsure if she won the pan-regional modeling competition, although the remaining gunners are now down to six (6). Alaiza-wise, she is rumored to give Bb. Pilipinas a second try, either next year or 2017. What fate awaits them in their respective endeavors?
In the meantime, enjoy their images in this post as taken by Bruce Casanova. 😉
Bench Body held an underwear show that highlighted its latest lines, including the Michael Cinco Collection
Mr. World Philippines 2014 John Spainhour during the show
In this, the latest fashion show of Bench Body (with crisp images from our reliable lens man Bruce Casanova
), the popular underwear company unveiled its Michael Cinco Collection alongside the newest designs of its regular line. While this event does not measure up to the big ones staged at the MOA Arena every two years, it still bears watching given the new contours in undergarments that keep the interest of consumers – like myself
– always alive and in the mood for buying.
Bench Body endorser Mr. World Philippines 2014 John Spainhour helps boost the sales, for sure. But with the name of Michael Cinco attached to some of the inner wearables, there is an added premium. Except for that one with the winged unicorn emblazoned all over the front, I have all his pieces here. 😉
There's only so much you can do for underwears, but Bench Body always makes sure it keeps the trend fresh and exciting (Photo credit: Bruce Casanova)
Designer Joey Samson's Summer/Spring 2015 for Style Origin
An almost androgynous look for the men of today
Just the other day, Designer Joey Samson presented his Summer/Spring 2015 collection during the Style Origin Men’s Week campaign of the Ayala Malls at Greenbelt.
As photographed by my favorite lensman Bruce Casanova, the designer unveiled a line of new creations that push the envelope in terms of men’s fashion – a cross between rugged and androgynous but still with the strong use of a more masculine color plate that should give the braver fashionistas more reasons to wear one and flaunt their sense of style with confidence.
While I may not belong to those who are fast-forward enough in terms of dressing up, I still believe that the constant evolution of menswear is a must. And Joey is one of those at the forefront of giving the Filipino male a template by which they can express their individuality. 🙂
The look of the Pinoy fashionista from the eyes of Joey Samson
Joey Samson's evolving looks for the fashionable Filipino male may not be for everyone, but the braver souls will surely bite.
