It is interesting to note that when actress Kim Chiu wore that Benj Leguiab IV gown (made fun of in different memes like the one above) during the recently-concluded ABS-CBN Ball 2019, she mentioned in her vlog that it was made for her by the designer only around two months ago.
Rewind to September, 2018 during the time of Mutya ng Pilipinas Gold when the candidate of the Filipino Community from Canada West Coast (Anne Nathalie Longakit) wore almost the same creation (with less details on the lower part) from the same designer in a preliminary event held at Ascott BGC.

If not for that “shawarma” meme, I wouldn’t have remembered the similarities at all.

Katarina Evening Gown photoshoot in Benj Leguiab IV
Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2017 Katarina Rodriguez is having the time of her life in Hurghada, Egypt while representing the country in Miss Intercontinental 2018. She is totally in the zone when it comes to social media postings and never slacks in encouraging her fans and followers to continue the support for the online voting component of the competition that will now fast-track the top performer a spot in the Top 6.
Please keep the votes coming for our bet because she is within striking distance of the current leader. She is giving her best in all the pre-pageant activities and wants nothing more than to bring home the crown to her fellowmen. Here is the LINK.

For your assessment.
The Preliminary Competition of Miss Philippines Elizabeth Clenci in the Swimsuit and Evening Gown Competition of Miss Grand International 2017 in Phu Quoc, Vietnam.
I give her a 9.5 out of 10 in Swimsuit and a 9.6 out of 10 in that Benj Leguiab IV evening gown creation.
Your scores, dear readers?
I know that the hardworking Designers who created the fabulous National Costumes for the Binibinis of Bb. Pilipinas 2017 toiled on their respective works so it is but fitting that we give credit to each one of them.
Let’s continue with Binibinis 31-40 dressed up by Francis Libiran, Pablo Mendez III, Julius Ornum, Nat Manilag, Arnu Camay, Manny Halasan, Marco&Oyama, Dave Ocampo, Benj Leguiab IV and Rian Fernandez as officially photographed by Raymond Saldaña below.
Katarina Rodriguez in Francis Libiran
Charmaine Elima in Pablo Mendez III
Kristie Rose Cequeña in Julius Ornum
Gabriela Ortega in Nat Manilag
Thoreen Halvorsen in Arnu Camay
Gillian Eliza Colcol in Manny Halasan
Sammie Anne Legaspi in Marco&Oyama Filipiniana
Ana Patricia Asturias in Dave Ocampo
Elizabeth Clenci in Benj Leguiab IV
Kristel Guelos in Rian Fernandez
Roshiela Tobias in Benj Leguiab IV
Before Roshiela Tobias joined Bb. Pilipinas 2016, she was a beautiful operating room nurse in Pampanga with the height and the potential to make waves in the national level of pageantry.
After Roshiela Tobias completed her Bb. Pilipinas 2016 stint and landed a proud placement in the (tough-to-crack) Top 15, she has also leveled up nicely back in her home province. The simplicity is still there, but she is now a clearer picture of confidence and charm. She moves and walks with more sophistication. And she can now stand out with less effort and more grace.
Doors will open – maybe not as wide as the titleholders and runners-up yet – but if she gets those knocks that would signal a fast-forward to semblances of infinity and beyond, then Roshiela will definitely be ready for the challenge.
Game on, my dear! 😉
