Notice anything different in Jamie Herrell’s 2014 elemental court above and below?
Miss Philippines Earth 2014 Jamie Herrell and her proclaimed court last year
Not a hard thing to differentiate, of course. Miss Philippines Fire 2014 Bianca Paz is no longer in the top pic. In her place, former Top 10 runner-up Bencelle Bianzon has already taken over the title.
Right at the onset, I felt that getting a 3rd Runner-Up spot won’t be a fiery (no pun intended) conclusion for Bianca. And that it was just a matter of time before she would give up on the responsibilities instead of getting tied down by the same.
In a way, I feel bad for Bianca. She gave her everything in all the national pageants she joined, only to end up getting bridesmaid status everytime. She could have already nailed a crown by now. Alas, it was not meant to be. She must have really moved on to greener (again, no pun intended) pastures where pageantry is not the main focus.
I can only wish her the best of luck in the other endeavors she is setting her sights on. 🙂

Shout for joy after being called winner.
The Philippine elements of 2014 have been crowned. And the results did not really come as a big surprise anymore. Making it as Miss Philippines Earth 2014 (and the country’s official representative to Miss Earth 2014) is Jamie Herrell of Cebu City. Comprising her elemental runners-up are Miss Philippines Air Diane Querrer, Miss Philippines Water Kimberly Covert, Miss Philippines Fire Ma. Paula Bianca Paz and Miss Philippines Eco-Tourism Monique Manuel.
The five others in the Top 10 are Angelie Crizelle Ocampo, Melanie Balagtas, Crystal Star Aberasturi, Ma. Jenny Gonzales and Bencelle Bianzon. Meanwhile, five ladies eliminated earlier in the semifinals included Mary Ann Ross Misa, Janelle Tee, Ashlejane Alcancia, Leslie Ann Pine and Sarah Theresa Stewart.
Three Very Special Awards were also handed out last night with Jamie Herrell bagging Miss Solaire Resort & Casino, Kimberly Covert getting Miss SM Supermarket and Janelle Tee clinching Miss Hana Shampoo.
Enjoy your reign, ladies! (Photo credit: Melvin Sia)
Congratulations to all the winners! Stay queenly, humble and warm all throughout your reign. 🙂
These eight (8) ladies took part in Bb. Pilipinas before crossing over to Miss Philippines Earth.
What is the common denominator among the eight (8) ladies above? Simple. They all joined Bb. Pilipinas before crossing over to Miss Philippines Earth 2014. Actually, two (2) of them did it via Miss World Philippines in between (Ross Misa and Bianca Paz):
Mary Anne Ross Misa – Bb. Pilipinas 2010
Ma. Paula Bianca Paz – Bb. Pilipinas 2011 (disqualified)
Mary Rose Pujanes – Bb. Pilipinas 2013
Bencelle Bianzon – Bb. Pilipinas 2013
Anna Carmela Aquino – Bb. Pilipinas 2013
Monique Manuel – Bb. Pilipinas 2011
Anna Czarina Buenviaje – Bb. Pilipinas 2012
Patrixia Sherly Santos – Bb. Pilipinas 2010
If we are to use their previous experiences in big pageants, I would say that any of the beauties above can strongly take the competition, but none moreso than Mary Anne Ross Misa and Bianca Paz. They are the most senior in the batch and the ones who can handle all the nitty gritty of the pre-pageant even with their eyes closed.
Valiry, Matet, Carmela and Bence are always appearing without funfare. Let's give them their day in the spotlight.
No fancy write-up for this group.
I simply want to feature Val, Matet, Carmela and Bence as they have been lacking in equal opportunity exposure in the pageant so far.
Val is deliciously tall, Matet is scrumptiously articulate, Carmela is delectably sensual and Bence is flavorful and all. What seems to be missing?
Strong competitors? Lack of forward moves? I don’t want to think that they are being a wee bit complacent. One of them might just place in the semis to surprise us all…or not.
In this quartet, Matet might qualify for the first cut. But I might end up biting my tongue if I push it even further. Oh well, let’s just be happy for them. After all, they belong to the golden batch of Bb. Pilipinas 2013. 😉
Hi! Norman here. When I'm not working, I spend most of my free time planning on daily blogs. If you will notice, I always make sure that a fresh topic comes out everyday - not an easy thing to do but it's all good. Thanks for dropping by and enjoy the visit!
