As it is right now, the raging battle in Miss World Philippines is shaping up to be a toss between the flag-bearers of the two beauty camps – Katarina Rodriguez for Aces & Queens and Alyssa Muhlach Alvarez for Kagandahang Flores.
Both ladies are strongly stepping it up in the competition. They performed excellently during the Beach Beauty/Swimsuit Competition in El Nido, Palawan where they made it to the Top 7 Finalists in the challenge. And where the singer in Alyssa proved mightier in Talent (she is one of the 7 Finalists), Katarina scored it even by making it to the Sports Challenge activity.

The entire Blue Team won and each member made it as Finalists for the Sports Challenge
Both Katarina and Alyssa are dead serious in winning the highest crown. But only one will prevail in the end, and the other with a title that won’t be as prestigious as the one for Miss World.
As we all know by now, our Miss World Philippines Queenie Rehman made it to the Top 40 of the Miss World 2012 Beach Beauty Finals which will be conducted tonight between 8:00-10:00PM in Ordos. Let’s all unite and help our bet trend worldwide on Twitter. Include the hashtag #msworldph in your tweets during these hours, aside from including @mwphilippines and @missworldltd.

Our efforts will help Queenie in the Multimedia Award of the competition. So Tweet Brigade everyone! 😉
Don’t ask me why, but the Beach Beauty competition of Miss World 2012 has been cancelled. No reasons were given by the organizers.
I am truly baffled by this development. I hope it’s just a temporary thing because what use is a beauty pageant without a swimsuit competition? It’s like going to a swimming party and discovering that there’s no water in the pool. 😦
Care to comment, dear readers?
UPDATE: I just learned that the Beach Beauty will still push through (this coming Friday, August 3) but will no longer be a fast-track or point-earning event. Hmmmm….my imagination is working wild as to why…
All’s good between China and the Philippines, at least in Miss World 2012, with Wen Xia Yu (L) and Queenie Rehman posing in one frame with smiles on their faces.
Queenie (R) with one of her closest chums, Miss World Indonesia Ines Putri Tjiptadi.
In the ongoing Miss World 2012 in Ordos, Miss World Philippines Queenie Rehman is sticking to her game plan with such spirited excitement. As a result, she is slowly getting noticed by everyone as a strong competitor to watch out for. During the talent auditions, she sang ‘Stand by Me’ and made it more special by injecting freestyle beatboxing that roused the audience and led to wild applause and a standing ovation. This thrilled our bet to no end, especially when she was named one of the Top 25 who will perform in the Talent Finals next month.
And it doesn’t stop there. Queenie has already been included in the 25 shortlisted delegates for the Top Model finals (also pegged for early August) where they will be wearing fashion designs made in Inner Mongolia. This should build her momentum even more going into the Beauty Beauty Event.

Next stop will be the Beach Beauty and Sports Events where she can equally excel due to her highly regarded figure plus fondness for physical games and/or contact plays. At the moment, all ladies are busy for the Opening Ceremony that should have already been conducted by now.
In the Multimedia Award, Queenie remains in the running, despite Misses Vietnam and Nepal getting past her ‘likes’ in the Official Facebook Fan Page. So if you haven’t supported her in this part yet, now is the time to do it (there’s a permanent link on the right side). And you can also encourage your friends to do the same.

Let’s all unite in helping Queenie get to her main objective: winning the first Miss World crown for the Philippines! 😀
Starting this weekend, the 120 delegates of Miss World 2012 will have alrrady arrived in Ordos to commence their respective quests to win the crown currently being held by Venezuela’s Ivian Sarcos. The Opening Ceremony will kick off on July 24 (Tuesday). So after checking on my blog, it would be nice if you can make regular visits to the new website of the pageant. There, you can get updates on the goings-on and whereabouts of the ladies. You will also learn that seven (7) hotly-contested challenge events are up for grabs, and these are: Designer Award Beach Beauty Sports and Fitness Performing Talent Top Model Multimedia Award Beauty with a Purpose Award
Click on each event above to know more. I’m not sure if all seven are fast-track activities, so just stay tuned for more details.
Crowne Plaza Hotel, Ordos City
Crowne Plaza Hotel, Ordos City will be the Official Residence of the ladies while in the host city. If you’re scheduled to go to Ordos next month to catch the finals, it will serve you better to stay near the Dongsheng National Fitness Center Stadium than here.
For now, my understanding is that both Facebook and Twitter are banned – if not super strictly regulated – in China. I am still uncertain if the ban will be lifted while Miss World 2012 is ongoing or only when the candidates are in Ordos. We all know that there will be brief stays in Shanghai, Hongkong and Sanya, so let’s see if online sources can still be gathered from each and every activity this year. 😉
Following the Beach Beauty Competition of Miss World 2011, the Top Model segment will be conducted next. Keep in mind that the winners of these fast-tracks will move straight to the semifinals on coronation night come November 6.
Will Miss Philippines Gwendoline Ruais be selected to form part of the Top 20 Top Model aspirants’ list? Let’s keep our fingers crossed because our bet is more than qualified to ramp it up and give her more than 120 competitors a tough fight.
The Miss World 2011 Beach Beauty competition was conducted over the weekend, with all the 36 semifinalists out-posing each other to the max. One of them is our very own Gwendoline Ruais who was just scorching hot in her pink two-piece swimwear. She was literally a standout. Aside from her towering height, she was head-to-toe styled perfectly well for the fast-track sidebar to the main competition.
Hi! Norman here. When I'm not working, I spend most of my free time planning on daily blogs. If you will notice, I always make sure that a fresh topic comes out everyday - not an easy thing to do but it's all good. Thanks for dropping by and enjoy the visit!
