Where is Cindy Miranda?

Ok, dear readers. I’ve resisted blogging about this subject matter all throughout the holiday season. But I can’t help it anymore.

Where in the world is Bb. Pilipinas-Tourism 2013 Cindy Miranda? I haven’t seen her of late. I was actually expecting that she would make an appearance during the wedding of Lloyd and Shamcey last December 29. But still, there was no sighting of her.

I checked out her Facebook page and found that she just spent New Year at Royal Plaza Hotel in Hong Kong (Mongkok). But that’s just about it.

I don’t want to assume that she is purposely trying to hide her face from the public eye after being the only Binibini titleholder last year who did not win or place in the Top 5. She should know better than to make herself scarce because it makes good the absences for unnecessary gossip and media fodder.

To Cindy, please holler and tell us that everything is fine in your end. 😉

Update: Mark Besana of A&Q informed me that Cindy is fine, and that she is just in a happy spot in her life at the moment. 😉

The Official Send-off for Bb. Pilipinas Tourism 2013 Cindy Miranda got underway this afternoon at Gateway with the presence of fellow Bb. Pilipinas Gold sisters lending some glitter to the occasion.

Come Sunday, Cindy will be flying to Xianning, China to try and win our 2nd (or 3rd depending on what will happen come September 28) Grand Slam crown for 2013 – Miss Tourism Queen International. Finals night for the pageant will be on October 5.

We wish our representative the best as she gives her 100% to do the country proud in China.

Bb. Pilipinas Tourism 2013 Cindy Miranda is all set to leave for China on the 22nd!

mtqi1 Just when Bb. Pilipinas-Tourism 2013 Cindy Miranda thought that all is lost with her international pageant representation, a glimmer of hope came her way as Miss Tourism Queen international 2013 is now all systems go in Xianning, China for an October 5 finals.

This coming Sunday, September 22, she will finally depart for the host city. The official send-off should happen any day now, and although it may look rushed, anything is better than none. The more important thing is that our “Asian Barbie Doll” won’t be wasted during her reign.

Her training is wrapping up. Her wardrobe is now being finalized. And Cindy has already psyched herself up for whatever eventualities await her in the mainland.

Okay, dear readers. You make the comparison between Miss Universe Philippines Ara Arida’s homecoming ride-around-town in Alaminos and Bb. Pilipinas Tourism Cindy Miranda’s appropriately covered and elevated (and adorned) throne just this morning in Rizal, Nueva Ecija. Let the float speak for itself.

I rest my case. 😉

cindysexty1 What’s a Bb. Pilipinas title without international pageant representation? Bb. Pilipinas-Tourism 2013 Cindy Miranda should ask her predecessor – Katrina Dimaranan – who was left out in the cold when her supposed overseas assignment failed to materialize. Nobody to blame but the organizers of the China-based competition.

The good news is that the holding of Miss Tourism Queen International 2013 (which was supposed to be held last December 28, 2012) will most likely push through (especially after the recent selection of China’s rep to the same). I don’t even want to ask if BPCI will still choose between her and Katrina on who will make the trip if ever. Being the reigning winner, she should feel confident of stepping up to the task and wearing the country’s sash with pride.

Cindy can only hope for the best. I’m pretty sure she will give her all to shine bright in the international stage. 😉

Preliminary
Between now and the end of the month, your blogger will be running a poll on Bb. Pilipinas 2013. The ground rules are simple. Just select fifteen (15) – and only fifteen (15) – of your best choices among the fifty (50) lovely delegates of the pageant. By midnight of March 31, results will be tallied to determine the fifteen (15) Official Candidates with the highest number of votes.

From April 1-11, a brand-new four-way poll will be up whereby all fifteen (15) short-listed ladies will get the chance to be voted upon as the Readers’ Choice for Miss Universe Philippines 2013, Bb. Pilipinas-International 2013, Bb. Pilipinas-Tourism 2013 and Miss Supranational Philippines 2013.

I decided on having four (4) separate sub-polls for the titles at stake so that you, my dear readers, can select the most qualified for each crown instead of assigning them based on 2nd-, 3rd- and 4th-ranked placements in just a single poll.

In the event of one candidate topping two or more sub-polls, she will be declared as Readers’ Choice for the higher title and the next-in-line (for the lower-ranked honor) will be picked for the other crown. 😉

P.S. I tried to make a mental note of my 15 choices and I scratched my head afterwards. It’s tough! I had 18 on my list and couldn’t trim it down to 15. Good luck, troops! 😉
