It has always been a lifelong dream of Nicole Schmitz to become a beauty queen and represent the Philippines in a pageant abroad. After an unsuccessful attempt in Bb. Pilipinas last 2007, her wish was finally granted earlier this year when she was crowned Bb. Pilipinas-International 2012. As a result, she became the country’s bet to Miss International 2012 currently being hosted by the city of Okinawa in Japan. Her experiences in the last two weeks have been memorable and life-changing to say the least. With less than a week to go before the finals on Sunday, October 21, she has been installed as one of the favorites to top the competition. To date, her performance is nothing short of outstanding. She is able to hold her own against the entries of the 68 other nations. Whatever the outcome of the coronation night is, your countrymen are mighty proud of you!

The 70 Official Delegates of Miss International 2012
Today, October 1, marks the start of activities for Miss International 2012 in Okinawa, Japan. The seventy (70) anticipated delegates are starting to arrive in the Land of the Rising Sun where, three weeks from now, one will emerge as the most victorious and take the place of reigning winner Maria Fernanda Cornejo of Ecuador.

Let’s all wish good luck to our representative, Bb. Pilipinas-International Nicole Schmitz, who will give her 100% to nail the mikimoto pearl-encrusted crown – hopefully, a 5th win for the Philippines. The competition won’t be a breeze, but there is nothing like a big challenge to push our bet to shine among the contenders.
Let the beauty games begin in Okinawa!
Itte kudasai !!! 😀

Lest some of you may be forgetting, the finals of Miss International 2012 is all set to be hosted by Okinawa, Japan in mid-October. The delegates competing this year should be arriving in the Land of the Rising Sun late this month, including our very own Nicole Schmitz who – in the last few weeks – has been getting intensive pasarela lessons from THE Jonas Gaffud to further strengthen her chances of standing out in the competition. She may not be the tallest among our bets, but she sure can stand tall the moment she puts into action all her valuable learnings from the master.
By next week, BPCI will be hosting Nicole’s formal send-off to her pageant assignment. She is 100% ready to represent our country, and to a detailed extent, that includes the fine trimming of her thick eyebrows that have been the subject of not-so-pleasant comments during the national finals last April. Her head-to-toe transformation has been nothing short of exacting.
Best of luck, Nicole!
I know you can make it to the top in MI2012! 😀

Now it can be said. Miss International has returned home after many years of dwelling in China. The pageant that made popular the Mikimoto Pearl-encrusted crown will be officially hosted this year by Okinawa, Japan with the finals set on Sunday, October 21.
This is great news for 2012 Bb. Pilipinas International Nicole Schmitz who will now have a fairer shot at victory. Aside from that, we all know how our representative loves the Land of the Rising Sun so much. This will give her the extra motivation to do well in the competition, on top of polishing her Nihongo conversational skills to better adapt with the locals. 🙂
