Bb. Pilipinas 2019 Queens (left to right) Aya Abesamis, Patch Magtanong, Gazini Christiana Jordi Ganados, Emma Tiglao and Leren Mae M. Bautista are present during today’s top-off ceremony for Ibis Styles Hotel – the newest accomodation inside Araneta City that will be built attached to the new Gateway Mall.
These ladies are truly #BeyondBeauty.
Here are photos of Bb. Pilipinas 2019 Queens Leren Mae M. Bautista and Aya Abesamis helping out in the packing and distribution of relief goods for families affected by the Taal eruption.
No gowns or heels or heavy makeups. Just plain goodness of heart to help out.
But the real heroes behind this effort are Mrs Regz Luancing Gibson and MakMak Luancing who helped in mobilizing the drive to collect funds for the relief operation.
When Maria Isabela Galeria of Sorsogon started her Binibini journey last year, most everyone thought that she has all the potentials to become a winner. At the same time, though, she was still deemed too young by many to assume such a responsibility. But considering that she made it all the way to the Top 15, the indicators are clear. She should make a comeback and present a more improved version of herself that could spell victory in her second attempt.
Now instead of refreshing your memory on the small cute details that went into her introductions as Binibini15 of Class 2019, we might as well focus on how else she can do better this time around. More life experiences would help a lot. But this aspect is a work-in-progress for anyone. I reckon that she needs to up her confidence even more so that she can express her views more convincingly. The sincerity is already there. Given that extra kick of one-on-one guidance, she can be more solid in her presentations beyond the usual pasarela and the like.
If she can translate her writing skills as an online novelist into a more cohesive display of her communication abilities as a speaker, then we could have an aspirant who can meet the standards being set by pageant followers and enthusiasts. She is already brimming with the physical qualities that can impress. Now is the time to put all the pieces together.
I wanted to release this teaser for tomorrow, but it simply can’t wait. Sleeping over it will make the update stale in the morning. So here it is now.
Former Binibini (from the 2019 edition) Honey Grace Cartasano will resurface as an aspirant for Bb. Pilipinas 2020 – with a new look and certainly a new attitude. She is definitely green-lighted to sign up and hopefully become a part of it for a second time.
I am more excited for her now compared to the last, and it’s not just about the obvious physical change. She will really bring it on – fiercer and braver, I reckon.
Your thoughts, dear readers?
Larah Grace Lacap was the host Binibini of sorts during her last two Bb. Pilipinas outings, being a bonafide resident of Quezon City. We saw her in both the 2017 and 2019 editions, aside from the long-forgotten stints she had as an 18 year-old pageant beginner last 2012 during Miss World Philippines and as 2nd Runner-Up of Mutya Ng Pilipinas the same year.
This girl has the beauty, height and charisma that could have made her win a title in either of her two Binibini journeys – she was Top 15 in 2017 and Top 25 last year. Something must still be missing.
But now at the age of 26, Larah could be finally doing the right decision of joining Bb. Pilipinas 2020. She has nothing to lose and everything to gain if ever she makes that one last pursuit of glory by going through the entire experience a third time. She has paid her dues. And she has more than sufficiently proven the right attitude to harness in hitting it all the way to the top.
I have a good feeling 2020 will be her winning year.
normannorman.com’s first official teaser for 2020 needs very little introduction because she was already part of Bb. Pilipinas 2019 – the Binibini most everyone is expecting to bring home one of the crowns last year but ended up with just a Top 15 placement. Instead of asking the question “What Went Wrong?” (which honestly irritates me every single time I see it being used as a tagline for vlogs and posts), I would go for “Where to next?”.
You see, it took a lot from Hannah and her family to involve their lives around her bid for a victory. And to do it all over again would mean going through the whole tedious process a second time.
The Arnolds last Christmas
Is Hannah ready for another round of Bb. Pilipinas? Or is she braver enough to do Miss Universe Philippines 2020? If she asks my unsolicited advise, I would rather see her compete as a Binibini once more because there are more titles at stake. Given that she needs
to nail a crown in her second attempt if ever, the decision is not at all difficult to arrive at. And by now, she must have already learned so much from the 2019 experience. As I have said before, too many cooks spoil the broth so a small consistent team of handler, coach, designer and stylist is more preferable than taking all the offers – free or not – from around her circle of avid supporters.
Hannah Conscencino Arnold, 24, are you ready to present your Binibini version 22.214.171.124 in the months ahead?
Who would have thought that my dear Leren Mae Bautista would actually be the best-performer after all the winners of Bb. Pilipinas 2019 have completed their respective missions abroad? I know that she will do well in The Miss Globe 2019 and a 2nd Runner-Up finish was what she brought home to the Filipinos from Ulcinj, Montenegro. This may not fully make up for our higher expectations from the other international pageants of Miss Universe, Miss International, Miss Supranational and Miss Intercontinental. But at the end of the year, we should still remain thankful that – except in Miss Grand International – we successfully placed in the rest:
Top 8 in Miss International 2019 (Patch Magtanong)
Top 20 in Miss Universe 2019 (Gazini Ganados)
Top 20 in Miss Intercontinental 2019 (Emma Tiglao)
Top 25 in Miss Supranational 2019 (Resham Saeed)
They still deserve our congratulations.
Now let us watch the full finals show of The Miss Globe 2019.
