Here’s another beauty pageant for you, beautiful ladies, out there.

Miss Global Philippines 2015 – now on its 2nd year – is now open for screening. Last year’s inaugural was a success with the crowning of Catherine Almirante as the top winner and extending her triumph by placing 2nd Runner-Up in the Miss Global 2014 World Finals which took place inside a Royal Princess cruise ship that sailed from the US to Mexico. Three of four members of her court also went on to represent the country internationally. There is Athena Catriz who won 3rd Runner-Up in Miss Summer International, Cindy Madumma who participated in Miss Tourism World hosted in Venezuela and Lorraine Erum who flew to the island of Fiji for the World Supermodel 2015 competition.

National Director Pauline Laping and Operations Manager Stephany Stefanowitz (Miss Air 2013) promise to make this year’s search bigger than the last, reason why they can’t wait to see the promising ladies who will join the beeline for 2015.

Just when everyone is not looking, Athena Catriz placed well in the recently-concluded Miss Summer International 2015 finals in Baranquilla, Colombia. Aside from getting the Miss Photogenic award, she was also named 3rd Runner-Up to eventual winner Fablina Paixao of Brazil. And our bet was just overwhelmed with the participation (as expressed in her personal message above).

Miss Summer International has a registered office in Bulgaria and the franchise was obtained by Venezuela in 2011 and currently in Colombia in order to position this prestigious event in Latin America.”

And tomorrow night at the Hotel Windsor in Baranquilla, Colombia, Miss Summer International 2015 will be crowned. Our representative, Athena Catriz, will take part in the finals and hoping to make a good placement. Let’s wish her luck! 😀

Good luck in Colombia, Athena!

When Athena Catriz placed as Runner-Up and Tourism Ambassador during Miss Global Philippines 2014, little did she know that an international pageant representation will be in the offing. And true enough, she will be travelling to Colombia after the Holidays to participate in Miss Summer International 2015 which will be co-hosted by the cities of Baranquilla and Cartagena on January 19, 2015.

Now for those who might dismiss the pageant as just one of those small competitions with very little following, then it should help to know that Miss Summer International has been in existence for quite a number of years now and is largely more familiar in either Europe or Latin America.

And for the smart-aleck, there will be no Miss Winter or Miss Spring or Miss Autumn being planned or organized somewhere else.

For now, I’d wish Athena good luck in the contest. 🙂

missglobal1 There are 23 Official Candidates for Miss Global Philippines 2014 presented to the Press at Hotel H2O late morning yesterday. The winner will represent the country in Miss Global 2014 scheduled to happen aboard the Crown Princess Cruise (sailing from L.A. to Mexico) come December 19. For now, the coronation night is scheduled for October 11 at the Newport Performing Arts Theatre of Resorts World Manila. So just to introduce the beauties in the photo grid above, here are their names:
