Will tonight’s Bb. Pilipinas 2017 take inspiration from the above, format-wise? That is the talk in pageant circles as details of the show have allegedly been “leaked” by individuals either directly involved or privy to the production/inner workings of the special project.
So if we are to follow to a certain extent, there will be a Top 25 for the first cut as determined by the closed door interviews held last Thursday. These ladies will do Swimsuits and Evening Gowns.
Afterwards, the information detailed that there will be a cut to Top 15 Q&A (the list now includes one lucky Binibini who will skip the lines and forge ahead by virtue of the People’s Choice Award). Hence, the number of qualifiers dwindle as the competition advances.
So the format could really be 25-to-15, then Q&A then announcement of winners.
Does the alleged new approach excite you, dear readers?
Okay now. Here’s another video you can watch.
Talk is that “Move Your Body” by Sia will be the song used for the opening dance number. While the choreography will not be what you can see above (the steps can get too challenging while wearing Bragais platform heels), I bet that Joan – the person in charge of the moves – has prepared something unique as many of the Binibinis are stage-worthy dancers.

The TV telecast of the Bb. Pilipinas 2017 Coronation Night over ABS-CBN just got a little boost with the pre-empting of GGV (Gandang Gabi Vice) to give way to an on-the-dot 10pm start of the slightly delayed proceedings from the Araneta Coliseum. This means that it will follow “I Can Do That” immediately. During the meeting with the PR Department of Araneta Center, Inc. and BPCI yesterday afternoon, we were told that the last few segments of the competition will be in sync with what is happening inside the Big Dome in real-time. This should be better than last year when only the actual announcement of winners was in simultaneous live feed.
As I have previously mentioned, your blogger – as a media outlet – is not allowed to post regular updates of the competition here or on my Facebook timeline. Let us wait for everything to unfold because we were also sounded off on a planned twist in the format. I still have no idea what it is (could be about the cut/s or process of elimination/s) so let’s keep the element of surprise going and not spoil the excitement!

Ticket prices for the Finals
The ticket prices for the April 30 Coronation Night of Bb. Pilipinas 2017 don’t come cheap, unless you’re game with taking on one of those general admission seats that get you close to the ceiling of the dome than the stage itself. At any rate, I reckon that the Araneta Coliseum will still be at maximum capacity because the finals is one big event that a lot of pageant watchers and busloads of supporters will definitely flock to on any given Sunday (yes, April 30 this year will fall on a Sunday).
Looking at the color-coded seat location map inside the Big Dome, one can easily surmise that the best seats are not necessarily the VIP section because the view is straight and steps below eye-level. Patron A and Patron B are still the best places to be seated at. And if you can score one of the front rows (preferably the 2nd-3rd rows) in the blue-colored section labeled 106-107, it will afford you a better view of the entire proceedings. That for me is the most preferred spot.
Media partners like myself will definitely be allocated seats in the red-colored VIP with 117-104, but the only advantage is our easier stage access once the new winners have been crowned. I can’t complain. 🙂

Final deadline is on February 24, 2017 at 6PM at the BPCI Office. Red Gate, Smart Araneta Coliseum, Araneta Center QC. Good luck!!!
I have initially blogged eight (8) – Charmaine Elima, Dindi Pajares, Katarina Rodriguez, Patricia Magtanong, Jehza Huelar, Michelle Marquez Dee and Arienne Calingo.
When Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa guested on CNN Philippines for “The Source” (In Focus) of host Pinky Webb, she detailed the trail that she prepared herself for in Tokyo, Japan. Her preparations were mind-boggling for an utterly lazy or simple-minded individual. And only someone with focus and great determination could deliver on what she promised to the entire nation.
Watch her interview now.

Now that we’re done with that, I just want to remind everyone that today is the scheduled homecoming parade (see image below) of Miss International 2016 around Araneta Center. It will start at around 4:00PM from the Novotel Manila Araneta Center area and end at the Araneta Coliseum right beside it. A program will be held around the Food Park area after.

Don’t miss this one. Make sure that you find time to shower her with all your love and gratitude for giving us one of the best Christmas gifts ever. 🙂
Our Bb. Pilipinas 2015 Queens dancing to Carly Rae Jepsen's "I Really Like You"
Carly Rae Jepsen's August 12 concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum is being promoted by our Bb. Pilipinas 2015 Queens in the video below
With the upcoming concert of international pop singer Carly Rae Jepsen in Manila on August 12 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, MCA Music and Bb. Pilipinas partnered in the production of a music video showing the Bb. Pilipinas 2015 Queens lip-syncing and dancing to the singer’s current hit song “I Really Like You” which was filmed around the Araneta Center and Gateway Mall areas. And each one of them gave their coolest comic dance moves in the same.
Watch our ladies having fun below.

How the completed Novotel Manila Araneta Center will look like by the 4th Quarter of 2015
Novotel Manila Araneta Center is conveniently located beside Araneta Coliseum
By the 4th Quarter of 2015, Novotel Manila Araneta Center will open its doors to the public as the most inviting place for staycations or tourist accommodation in the heart of the commercial area. And with its convenient location right beside Araneta Coliseum, this should be the best choice for a temporary pit stop when watching the annual Bb. Pilipinas or any other concert/events scheduled to take place in the Big Dome.
Located in the business and leisure district of Quezon City, Novotel Manila Araneta Center has direct access to LRT and MRT Stations, Gateway Mall and Smart Araneta Center. Inspired by chic and contemporary design, the hotel has 401 stylish rooms and suites, an All Day Dining Restaurant, Pool and Lounge Bar, Executive Lounge, outdoor Bridal Garden, pillarless Grand Ballroom and 7 meeting rooms.
I will most likely watch Bb. Pilipinas 2016 while staying at the Novotel by March next year
While the brochure states a Q3 opening, the website of Accorhotels is showing that Novotel Manila Araneta Center will start taking reservations for stays scheduled for October, 2015 and beyond.
For sure, I will book a weekend one-nighter here by March next year, just in time for Bb. Pilipinas 2016. 😉
Should you want to get in touch with Novotel Manila Araneta Center for early bookings and the like, the pre-opening office is at the 12th Floor of Aurora Tower, Araneta Center, Cubao. Tel +63-2-558-4190 to 91.
Left-to-right: 2nd Runner-Up Kimverlyn Suiza, Bb. Pilipinas Tourism Ann Lorraine Colis, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental Christi Lynn McGarry, Miss Universe Philippines Pia Wurtzbach, Bb. Pilipinas International Janicel Lubina, Bb. Pilipinas Supranational Rogelie Catacutan and 1st Runner-Up Hannah Ruth Sison
Fresh from the culmination of a successful finals night at the Araneta Coliseum, the Bb. Pilipinas 2015 winners were proclaimed after more than three hours of live judging and eventual deliberations on who should wear the crowns.
Named Miss Universe Philippines 2015 is Pia Wurtzbach. She will now represent the country in Miss Universe 2015. Next in line is Bb. Pilipinas International 2015 Janicel Lubina who will go to Japan for Miss International 2015. Christi Lynn McGarry was elected Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2015 and Rogelie Catacutan as Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2015. These two ladies might switch with their overseas representation as the former has already been to Miss Intercontinental 2010. Finally, Ann Lorraine Colis was given Bb. Pilipinas Tourism 2015. Hopefully, a new pageant franchise awaits her.
Off to Miss Universe 2015, Pia!
1st Runner-Up is Hannah Ruth Sison (an improvement from her placement in 2014). 2nd Runner-Up is Kimverlyn Suiza.
Except for the non-inclusion of crowd favorites Teresita Ssen Marquez and Kylie Verzosa, the rest of the victors deserved their honors.
Congratulations to all the new Queens! 😀
Happy winners all, although I can feel the disappointment in Hannah Ruth Sison for not getting a title.
Hi! Norman here. When I'm not working, I spend most of my free time planning on daily blogs. If you will notice, I always make sure that a fresh topic comes out everyday - not an easy thing to do but it's all good. Thanks for dropping by and enjoy the visit!
