Five of our Bb. Pilipinas 2016 Queens presented themselves at the Philippine Retailers Association Expo at the SMX Convention Center for The Araneta Center. Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental Jennifer Hammond, Bb. Pilipinas Grand International Nicole Cordoves, Bb. Pilipinas Globe Nichole Manalo, 1st Runner Up Angelica Alita and 2nd Runner Up Jehza Huelar lent special glitters to the booth of Araneta Center and easily drew crowds with their mere presence.
Where could the other Queens be? I missed Maxine, Kylie and Joanna in this event yesterday.😉
Earlier in the afternoon, a Mini-Press Conference was held at the Gateway Gallery with the Bb. Pilipinas 2016 Queens – Maxine Medina, Kylie Verzosa, Jennifer Hammond, Joanna Eden, Nicole Cordoves, Nichole Manalo, Angelita Alita and Jehza Huelar – giving members of the media quick updates on their respective pageant assignments. As expected, there was a more interesting focus on Miss Universe Philippines – looking even lovelier by the month – who will be host delegate in the 65th edition of Miss Universe happening in Manila come January 30, 2017. There is clear excitement among each one of them on the big hosting and the support being showered for Maxine is very evident.
Afterwards, the remaining beauties spoke about their respective missions – Kylie about Miss International in Japan, Jennifer about Miss Intercontinental in Sri Lanka, Joanna about Miss Supranational in Poland, Nicole about Miss Grand International in Las Vegas and Nichole about The Miss Globe 2016 whose venue will be announced soon.
More details about our Queens’ trips abroad in the weeks to come!🙂

Over the weekend, the three-day Independence Day Celebration at Farmers Market inside Araneta Center was made more special (and enjoyable
) with a Boodle Feast that had the attendees partaking in lunch served on a long table filled with a sumptuous – albeit no frills – spread of local grilled dishes and favorites.
Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2016 Jennifer Hammond and 1st Runner-Up Angelica Alita made themselves available for the dress-down activity and gamely joined in the boodle fun with all the other invited guests. Of course, it was a no-spoons-and-forks kind of meal so our ladies dug into lunch with much gusto.😀

Bb. Pilipinas 2016 Runners-Up Angelica Alita and Jehza Huelar
When I got the chance to re-connect with Bb. Pilipinas 2016 Runners-Up Angelica Alita and Jehza Huelar during their lunch and sponsor visit with David Charlton of David’s Salon last Thursday, I immediately popped the question about the probability of re-joining the nationals in 2017. While they sounded tentative at first, I can get a palpable sense of affirmation based on the fact that the momentum has already started building up on their side. Skipping next year could prove to be some sort of a deterrent because the popularity has already been put in place.
Jehza, in my opinion, is the one who needs extra convincing since she wants to go straight to either law school or masteral studies this year. Angel, on the other hand, is more solid in her desire to take part (and get a crown) if she will retrace her steps and change on the gameplan she started this year.
At this point, I can already see them as the more learned Binibinis of 2017 same time, next year. This could still be subject for change, but gut-feel tells me that it would happen.😉

A toast to the Bb. Pilipinas 2016 Queens!
Earlier today, I was invited by Lotte Villarosa-Agraviador of David’s Salon to a private lunch hosted by CEO David Charlton for the Bb. Pilipinas 2016 winners at Union Jack Tavern (owned by David as well) inside Festival Mall in Alabang.
Save for Joanna Eden and Nichole Manalo, the six others came in full force – Miss Universe Philippines Maxine Medina, Bb. Pilipinas International Kylie Verzosa, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental Jennifer Hammond, Bb. Pilipinas Grand International Nicole Cordoves, 1st Runner Up Angelica Alita and 2nd Runner-Up Jehza Huelar. And we really had fun taking photos and talking about chocolates, sticky fudge pudding, make-up, beauty pageants and more.
And David Charlton himself was such a gracious host who made sure that everyone ate well. He even took out a bottle of wine to give a toast to victory of the ladies (photo above) in their international competitions.
Thank you for giving normannorman.com exclusive coverage of the gathering, David’s Salon!

After winning Bb. Pilipinas 2016 1st Runner-Up, Angelica Alita misses her hometown of Puerto Galera the most
You can take the girl out of the Bb. Pilipinas 2016 1st Runner-Up, but you can never take Puerto Galera out of Angelica Alita’s mind.
After placing in the Top 8 of Bb. Pilipinas 2016, Angel was immediately immersed in the world of national beauty pageant winners. She may not have a title to her name yet, but the duties and responsibilities of being 1st Runner-Up always beckons to stay in Manila more than her beloved hometown of Puerto Galera in Oriental Mindoro.
She definitely misses her family. She is particularly close to her brothers who look up to her as a role model and a loving sister rolled into one. She misses the beaches of Galera and her favorite spot near the waves and splashing water (see photo grid above). She misses the townfolks she usually bonds with. And she definitely misses the normalcy of life she used to enjoy pre-BBP days.
But Angel is serious with her placement in the pageant. And being the sweet and obedient lady that she is, there is no reason to miss the important BPCI and sponsor-related appearances here. She may not clock in 100% all the time, but her commitment to the organization is firm.
She is grateful for having close “big sisters” in Maxine Medina, Kylie Verzosa, Jennifer Hammond, Nicole Cordoves and Jehza Huelar (see photo below).

Yes, Angel misses Puerto Galera. But she will do everything that it takes not to miss the important activities as Bb. Pilipinas 2016 1st Runner-Up.🙂
Aces & Queens recently hosted a thanksgiving dinner for its Bb. Pilipinas 2016 Queens
Just very recently, Aces & Queens hosted a Thanksgiving Dinner for its six (6) winners in Bb. Pilipinas 2016 at the Gloriamaris Restaurant inside Gateway. The beauty camp had a very bountiful harvest this season with four (4) titleholders – Miss Universe Philippines Maxine Medina, Bb. Pilipinas International Kylie Verzosa, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental Jennifer Hammond and Bb. Pilipinas Grand International Nicole Cordoves – and two (2) runners-up – Angelica Alita and Jehza Huelar.

It was a meaningful gathering attended by the team that trained and polished them for the nationals. In attendance were Jonas Gaffud, Arnold Mercado, Nad Bronce, Bessie Besana, Gerry Diaz, Boyet Blas, Directors Jeff Jeturian & Cesar Evangelista, Pao Baysa, Jim Ryan Ros, Gery Penaso, Raymond Galang, Carissa Cielo Medved, Dave Grona and more.
Again, I doff my hat to Aces & Queens for a job extremely well done!😀
Family photo now. You were missed, John Cuay!
