At 5’10”, Angela Yagaya is the tallest Official Candidate of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2016 and she is wearing the sash of Western Visayas in the competition. Her mixed race (as she explained below) is one of the obvious features that make her stand out among the thirty (30) comers. And by the looks of it, she will use her towering presence and exotic appeal among all of them.
Angela looks familiar because of her participations in Reyna ng Aliwan 2015 and Miss Bikini Philippines 2016.
Here is more of this lass for you:
I’m 19 years-old and hails from Sibalom, Antique. I consider myself unique because of my dark skin complexion. I was born with the mix of a black American father and Filipina mother. As a conservative woman, I’m proud of my strong spiritual values instilled by my family.
Aside from physical appeal, a beauty queen should have a sensible mind and able to discuss topics related to government, good parliamentary practices, environmental issues, cultural and tourism promotion – something that defines a woman of substance. Presently, I’m a graduating student taking up Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management at the University of Antique. Someday, I dream of becoming a Tourism Officer of our province and inspire the youth to always believe in their capacity to create change. I’ve been a beauty title holder when I was in high school at Pangpang National High School and crowned Miss University of Antique 2014. I graduated Salutatorian in high school and a consistent Dean’s Lister in college. In 2015, I was crowned as Ms. Iloilo Paraw Regatta – Aliwan and represented the Paraw Regatta Festival in the Reyna ng Aliwan 2015. I also competed for the Ms. Bikini Philippines 2015 where I landed in the Top 10 and bagged the Ms. Friendship award. My artistic passion in music was discovered and honed when I was asked to record a rap part in the pageant theme song of Ms. Paraw Regatta this year. In the succeeding months, I contributed my passion for songwriting and recorded a rap part in two other pageant theme songs in Iloilo such as Pintados de Pasi of Passi City and Bb. Pandayan of the Municipality of Badiangan. Last June 18, I was chosen as Mutya ng Pilipinas – Western Visayas in Kalibo, Aklan. I’m honored to represent Western Visayas in the national pageant of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2016. I believe I will be able to share my passion not just as a beauty queen with a pretty face but someone who will inspiring young people to believe in their dreams and promote our tourism industry.
Beyond the statuesque height, body frame and mixed-race, Angela talks sense and gives a good description of herself and her views as an individual. I will see if she can really soar high in Mutya ng Pilipinas. 🙂
