Final 15 Poll: Pick Your 4 Winners of Bb. Pilipinas 2013!

After a grand total of 167,035 votes casted, we have finally arrived at this juncture where the Top 15 ladies with the highest numbers have been determined from our near-month long Pick 15 Poll. In this order, they are:

Instead of the four-way poll I originally planned, a second Final 15 poll will be introduced starting today and will run until the midnight of April 10. You can only vote for four (4) delegates who you feel deserve to win the crowns at stake. In the end, the top placer will be pegged for Miss Universe Philippines, the 2nd placer for Bb. Pilipinas International, the 3rd placer for Bb. Pilipinas Tourism and the 4th placer for Miss Supranational Philippines. As an added token, the 2nd Runner-Up position will be assigned to whoever finishes 5th.

I encourage everyone to be discerning with your choices. Even if your favorites did not make it to the Final 15, I’m pretty sure you will find one among the selection who comes closest to your preferred winner. And might I add that we’re back to square one today, so the 15th placer will have just as much chance to zoom to the top.

Note: Angel May Villafuerte is actually #16, but moved up to #15 following the resignation of Theresa Fenger.

Will looking (and moving) like Shamcey Supsup work wonders for Angel May Villafuerte?

angelmay2 Could it be the styling? Or could it be the make-up? Or could it be that they really look alike? However which way you look at it, Bb. Pilipinas 2013 Official Candidate Angel May Villafuerte bears a striking semblance to Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2011 and Miss Universe 2011 3rd Runner-Up Shamcey Supsup. What’s interesting is that both ladies come from the same beauty camp (Aces & Queens) and it is possible that the Bicolana beauty is being molded in the template of the Philippine Pride from General Santos City.

Will it benefit Angel May and help convince the judges that she might just be capable of duplicating what her look-alike achieved? Methinks it won’t work towards the desired results. Shamcey is so 2011. And we are already in 2013. There is always this constant hunt for a new Miss Universe Philippines. It also goes without saying that our taste has been evolving year after year.

If I were Angel May, I would try and inject something that would veer away from the perennial comparison to Shamcey. It doesn’t help being tagged as some sort of a copycat. 😉

Other Info : A Shamcey Supsup deadringer, Angel May earned a Business Management degree from Ateneo de Naga University before joining Bb. Pilipinas.

Age : 22 years old

Other Info : Mateane participated in the Miss Magic 2011 Pride of Pangasinan where she placed 1st Runner-Up.

Other Info : An Information Technology graduate from University of La Salette, Mariz worked as a Technical Specialist in a call center before deciding to re-channel her focus on Bb. Pilipinas.

Other Info : While studying at the Isabela State University, Mutya was named Miss Isabela Tourism 2011. She took part in her namesake’s pageant last year before moving to the bigger challenge of Bb. Pilipinas.

This is just the beginning for the 50 Official Candidates of Bb. Pilipinas 2013. OPMB Worldwide chanced upon some of them upon arrival at Gateway in preparation for their first official photoshoot for the pageant. Their energies are brimming with excitement. I hope they can keep it up till the homestretch because it won’t be an easy trek to the finals. With all the scheduled activities and personal appearances, the last thing in their minds should be getting a good 8-hour sleep. 😉

a) The four towers of this batch – 5’10” Cassandra Naidas, 5’11” Merry Joyce Respicio, 5’11 3/4″ Anna Buquid and 5’10” Valiry Vispo got all the middle numbers – 24, 25, 26 and 27 – respectively.

b) While not the shortest among the 50, 5’7″ish Ria Rabajante got assigned the important #1 pin and will always lead the 50 when being presented or paraded.

c) Bence Bianzon got assigned the #2 pin. This could only mean that BPCI wants a 1-2 punch whenever the candidates are being called for introduction and other pre-pageant activities.

d) Early favorite Pia decided to use Wurtzbach as her surname for the competition. Although this would reflect differently (read: looked at as less Asian by foreigners) should she win and be fielded abroad, there still remains the ‘itching’ theory of carrying a ‘double-U’ (W) in the same.

e) The last number (in this case, #50) is usually one of the least looked-at candidate (perhaps the audience is already dead-tired by the time it reaches the end), but BPCI has gotten into the habit of assigning a lady with striking features here. Last year, it was Latina-looking Sherlyn Gonzales (#30). This year, it’s another Latina-looking Krisma Pascual who’s at the tail-end.

f) Last year, the lucky numbers were 18 (Janine Tugonon), 8 (Nicole Schmitz), 13 (Katrina Dimaranan), 15 (Elaine Kay Moll) and 29 (Ali Forbes). Will good fortune follow Paula Bernasor, Abby Monderin, Charmaine Elima, Pia Wurtzbach and Pauline Quintas in that order? Probably for two of them at best. 😉

As if it’s not enough that the onslaught of numerous drop dead gorgeous beauties are causing us headaches on who to pick as favorites for Bb. Pilipinas 2013, here are two more from Aces & Queens – Ivy Gonzales and Angel May Villafuerte.

Little is known about the background of Ivy, but there’s more to scratch regarding Angel May who is another Bicolana crowned Miss Rinconada 2012 during Iriga City’s annual fiesta.

Let’s see if this pair of eye candies can measure up to the bar set high by their fellow A&Q applicants. It won’t be easy, but anything is doable if they put their hearts into it. Right, dear readers? 😉
