One of Anabel’s latest shots


You saw her as a lovely simple lass from Ozamiz City who pleasantly surprised everyone during the Bb. Pilipinas 2014 screenings when she qualified as an Independent Official Candidate. And then beauty camp Kagandahang Flores took her in immediately and polished her potentials that extended till the following year’s edition of the nationals.

And after those two turns in Bb. Pilipinas, Anabel was handpicked by John dela Vega to wear the Philippine sash in Miss United Continents 2015.

Just when everyone thought that her moments in the spotlight are over, Anabel reinvented herself and became a commercial model where she appeared in different fashion events, trade and promotional shows, out-of-town appearances and more.

The lady has really transformed right in front of our eyes. And by all counts, she will continue to strike while the iron is still hot so to speak. I am just happy that she has found her own niche in the competitive industry she has dutifully planted herself in.

She is trying out for Bb. Pilipinas 2016. On her own, for a change

 
Just to prove that I’m not limited to blogging only about the possible Bb. Pilipinas 2016 joiners who come from the different established camps (just like what I did last month for Jennyline Carla Malpaya who is likely to be fielded by Designer Jontie Martinez), I am giving space now to one lady who will submit her application for the beauty pageant simply because she wants to try her luck in the ultra-competitive search. Nothing wrong with that. It’s not like BPCI has closed its doors to wannabes with no previous national pageant experience or have no camp back-up.

Remember Anabel Christine Tia? She flew from Ozamiz City armed only with the determination to follow her dreams. She went for her first attempt last 2014 and got in. It was only during the final screening when she was warmly welcomed by KF into the fold. And she even returned last year with marked improvements. Will the young woman in this post follow that trail?

The name is Jan Louise Lopez Abejero. She is 21 years old, stands 5’7″ and is a graduate of Mass Communication from the University of Santo Tomas. As far as special interests are concerned, she loves cooking, reading books, writing, painting and even hosting. She also does regular volunteer work for charity.

Dear readers, don’t pin her down just yet. This girl might have something extra special that will convince the judges. Let’s give everyone the chance. It could be just for the experience. Or it could also be to see what fate awaits her in the screening. Can she pull through? 🙂

image Miss Philippines Anabel Christine Tia is in the thick of the fight for the Miss United Continents 2015 crown in Guayaquil, Ecuador. And she is not about to just cave in to the increasing pressure. On the contrary, she is doing all the right moves to make her presence felt.

Just recently, Anabel made an artwork featuring Miss United Continents (MUC) President Maria dela Carmen Aguayo who was visibly pleased with the heartwarming gesture. Added to her all-around standout performance and aura by the day, it comes as no wonder that she is inviting good feedbacks from the organizers.

Miss Philippines Anabel Christine Tia in Ecuador for Miss United Continents 2015

Miss United Continents Philippines 2015 Anabel Christine Tia has nicely settled herself in Guayaquil, Ecuador for the pre-pageant activities of Miss United Continents 2015. In fact, she has started to stand out among the delegates with her always prepared face, hair and stance as you can see in the pictures in this post.

If she keeps up consistent with her glow and ever-smiling aura, then I have no doubt in my mind that she will steal the hearts of the locals in no time at all. She may even turn this into an advantage to get the judges’ nods to make her place well in the finals, if not snatch the crown itself.

Will Anabel be the first Filipina to win Miss United Continents? I don’t see it as an impossibility. She might actually surprise us all in the end. 😉

Yesterday afternoon at Mr. Choi Kitchen in Robinsons Magnolia in Quezon City, a private press conference-cum-send-off was held in honor of Miss United Continents Philippines 2015 Anabel Christine Tia who will be leaving for Guayaquil, Ecuador very soon to represent the Philippines in Miss United Continents 2015.

Anabel is the picture of excitement and confidence as she showed just how much she wants to make the Philippines proud in the competition by hopefully bagging our first crown in the said pageant. She prepared hard for whatever demands it will require and will travel to South America armed with everything she needs to insure her standout performance all throughout.

From all of us here at normannorman.com, we wish Anabel Christine Tia the very best in Miss United Continents 2015. Step up and get that crown! 😀

Proudly wearing their crowns and sashes

During the pageant judging of Hari at Reyna ng Bulacan 2015 in Malolos City, two of our appointed representatives joined the panel. And you can definitely tell that they are ready for their respective missions abroad. Miss United Continents Philippines 2015 Anabel Christine Tia and Miss World Peace Philippines 2015 Jeslyn Santos are gearing up for the biggest challenges of their lives.

Anabel will be leaving soon for Guayaquil, Ecuador to wear the Philippine sash in Miss United Continents 2015. Jeslyn, on the other hand, will follow by next month and travel to nearer Hong Kong for Miss World Peace 2015 which will have its finals at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium.

I will follow their individual routes online to see how well they will represent the Philippines abroad. Hopefully, both or at least one of them will bring home the proverbial bacon.

After two Bb. Pilipinas stints (2014 and 2015), Anabel Christine Tia did not get what she was looking for. She took it as a sign that one of the national crowns just wasn’t meant for her.

But dreams do happen for those who wait. And right now, the privilege of representing the Philippines in an international pageant is now in her midst. She has been appointed as the country’s entry to Miss United Continents 2015 happening on September 12 in the Ecuadorian city of Guayaquil.

I bet this positive turn of events is bringing out her excitement in heaps. And I can only wish her the best in this mission.

Bring your A-game on, Bel! 🙂

Tiptoes make a woman look taller

I always get amused when Beauty Queens or beauty contestants are caught in the middle of a sudden photo op while wearing only flats or rubber shoes or worse, with bare feet. The quick instinct is to tiptoe their stand till the camera snaps and hope that the frame won’t include anything from the ankles down.

Balance is super important. And you’ll be amazed at how these ladies have already mastered the art of tiptoeing their way to a taller look when the need calls for them to do so. In fact, I’ve seen more than a few among our Binibinis who even do tiptoes while already wearing their five-inch platform heels. Talk about standing head and shoulders above the rest.

And a few of this blog’s readers and followers whom I’ve met recently or way before always acted surprised upon seeing that I am actually tall (5’9″ without heels!). They thought that I only measured 5’4″ after seeing my photos with the ladies.

Well, now you know the secret aside from wearing skyscraper heels. They are so used to giving themselves the extra lift, while I remain standing flat on the ground. 😉
