In this entry are some official photos from the Miss Kuyamis 2022 Swimsuit Competition held yesterday at Amaya View.

Congratulations to a successful pre-pageant event. Miss Kuyamis is clearly one of the most well-organized provincial pageants in the Philippines. And kudos to Jimema Tempra of Jasaan (left photo) for being declared #BestInSwimsuit.

The presence of Misamis Oriental Governor Bambi Emano made everything more special, just as the esteemed panel of judges that included Miss Intercontinental Cindy Obeñita, Binibini Araneta City Francesca Taruc, former Mr International Philippines Gil Wagas, Designer Odelon Simpao and PCOL Ranel Valones of the Misamis Oriental PPO.

Aside from the reigning titleholder Dannah Tempra, four of the former winners were also in attendance – Chella Falconer, Isobel Teano, Ana Monica Tan and Berjayneth Chee – all placers in their respective national pageants. Provincial Tourism Officer Atty Jeffrey Saclot was around to make sure that the entire proceedings went as smoothly as possible.

Looking forward to the official swimsuit photos of the ladies, as well as the Finals on January 13 which will be hosted by actor Marco Gumabao.

A pageant empire is steadily rising down south in the country’s gateway to Mindanao. And the successful partnership of Governor Bambi Emano and #ExploreMisOr Head Atty. Jeffrey Saclot is proving that it can be done with unstinting leadership, hardwork and credibility.

From the reigning Miss Kuyamis 2020 Isobel Teaño of Opol – an #EcoAngel of MPE2020 in her own right – to last year’s Chella Grace Falconer of Medina who took part in Miss Millennial Philippines (and now Miss Bikini Philippines), from 2018’s Ana Monica Tan of Tagoloan who stepped up to the nationals and was crowned Miss Philippines Earth Air and Berjayneth Chee of Balingasag who also reigned as the Elemental Queen of Water back in 2017 – this quartet of beautiful Misamisnons shows the rest of the Philippines why Misamis Oriental is a province of both natural and feminine wonders.

Just when I thought that coming up with a Final Prediction for the Top 10 of Miss Philippines Earth 2020 would be easy peasy, the last three weeks of preliminary competitions and official pre-judgings have certainly made it difficult to add and subtract Eco Angels in the list. In fact, I would have been more relieved if the Top 15 will be called for the first cut instead.

Be that as it may, the first six spots are almost givens. This considering the collective performances they have shown all throughout:

Roxanne Baeyens of Baguio City
Patrixia Sherly Santos of Daraga, Albay
Hannah Bithiah Merino of Sta. Rosa City
Gianna Llanes of Mandaluyong City
Justiene Ortega of City of Manila

As far as the last four spots are concerned, this is where the choices have become trickier.

June Cyra Pineda of Talacogon, Agusan Del Sur has certainly zoomed ahead early on. She has reached a plateau during the last week and a a half, though. But I’m pretty sure she has done enough to secure a placement.

The last three ladies are those who have managed to steadily move up from the prejudgings and the rest of the preliminary events since mid-June. There is still a push-and-pull probability of them making it or not. But I am placing my bets on Ilyssa Mendoza of Fil-Melbourne, Rizza Paula Infante of La Castellana, Negros Occidental and Isobel Teano of Opol, Misamis Oriental.

With the line-up above, the race for the Top 5 is going to put a lot of pressure on the first six. But anyone among them would make wonderful brand ambassadors of the pageant for one full year.

I am giving the Top 5 places to Shane Tormes, Patrixia Sherly Santos, Gianna Llanes, Roxanne Baeyens and Justiene Ortega – all from Luzon and NCR. If one of them slips with a sub-standard presentation during the finals, then it would pave the way for one of the ladies in the lower half.

Best of luck to all Eco Angels! May the best of the batch be proclaimed on Sunday morning so they can swimmingly fulfill their reigns in the new normal of pageantry.

July 24, 2019 – Contract Signing between Carousel Productions, Inc. and (UAP) United Architect of the Philippines – Manila Archizonian Chapter.

85 to 90 Flora Advocates from all over the World, empowered to make a change, will be coming together to promote various initiatives to preserve our natural resources, engage in environmental activities and projects together with environmental partners in communities, municipalities and cities in the country.

More than a month of activity will be covered on TV, print, radio, live stream and blog on official MISS EARTH social media- Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and participants own digital platform. Coronation Night will be Telecast Live on FOXLIFE and in TV stations of participating countries with Live Streaming on the Miss Earth Facebook page on October 26, 2019. The two-hour television special shall be telecast on ABS-CBN nationwide on October 27, 2019 (Sunday’s Best) and on The Filipino Channel (TFC) worldwide.

Miss Earth 2019 to be held in Legazpi, Albay on October 26, 2019. All the delegates will be in Legazpi from October 19 -26, 2019.

The reigning Miss Philippines Earth Janelle Lazo Tee – along with elemental court Ana Monica Tan, Chelsea Fernandez and Alex Dayrit plus Miss Earth Air 2018 Melanie Mader – were present during the contract signing with Lorraine Schuck and Peachy Veneracion for Carousel Productions.

#TeamVisayas is looking more and more like the strongest contingent in Miss Philippines Earth 2019. The group took eight (8) spots in my Top 20 forecast. And why not? Eastern Visayas alone has three strong aspirants with Chelsea Fernandez of Tacloban City, Emily Brumby of Tanauan, Leyte and Donna Ceniza of Ormoc City. If you add the other areas in this region, I can throw in two Ilonggas with Anna Thea Cenarosa of Iloilo City and Karen Nicole Piccio of Maasin, Iloilo, one Cebuana in Mariafe Loayon of San Remigio, Cebu and the Romblon bet, Danica Acuña. We can complete the mix with the youthful lass from Altavas, Aklan – Elmarie Dewara.

My Top 20 for Miss Philippines Earth 2019

But not to be taken lightly, #TeamNCR has the next highest number of qualifiers in my Top 20 – five (5) all in all. Shanon Tampon of Caloocan City, Alexandra Dayrit of Marikina City, Janelle Tee of Pasig City, Janella Manuel of Valenzuela City and Maricres Castro of Muntinlupa City deserve to be recognized just as much.

#TeamMindanao and #TeamLuzon contributed three (3) apiece with the ladies from the south coming strong with Maricel Buscato of Dapitan City, Jade Dyll Asis of Midsayap, North Cotabato and Ana Monica Tan of Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental. And the trio from the country’s biggest region has Amiel Saquisame of Gattaran, Cagayan Valley, Janielle Fajardo of Dasmariñas, Cavite and Mae Angela Miguel of Castillejos, Zambales.

Completing my Top 20 is one from the Overseas Communities – Denise Jessica Pimlott of Fil-Melbourne.

The Miss Philippines Earth 2019 Welcome Party

During the Miss Philippines Earth 2019 Welcome Party held at the Carousel Mansion in Mandaluyong City, 38 of the 42 expected Official Candidates were introduced to all invited guests and sponsors – including members of the media – as they formally started their pre-pageant journey to this year’s crown.

The ladies – divided into regions of Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and NCR (including reps of the Filipino Overseas Communities) – were asked to perform individual presentations that reflect the uniqueness of their respective origins in the country. They were judged accordingly, with the Mindanao contingent getting the solo recognition of being chosen as the best performers with a Gold Medal awarded on the spot.

From this day till the finals in July (details of date and venue to be finalized soon), they will be busy in various pre-pageant activities focused on environmental awareness and seminars, school and sponsor visits, a trip to El Nido in Palawan, medal-earning challenges and the unique preliminary judgings (beauty of face, beauty of form/figure and intelligence).
