In less than two weeks from now, the reigning titleholders of Miss World Philippines 2018 will crown their successors along with the addition of at least two (2) new titles at stake.
For now, let’s feast our eyes on the quartet of Katarina Rodriguez, Maureen Montagne, Alyssa Muhlach Alvarez and Kimi Mugford in Dennis Santos creations as styled by Kenneth Ramil Yturralde and Karl Dioso.
After September 15, they are all ready to move on – Katarina with her charity causes, Maureen with plans of joining Miss World America for a second time, Alyssa with her showbiz career and Kimi with her studies in the US.
With Bb. Pilipinas 2019 over and dine with – albeit delayed for this year – could Miss World Philippines 2019 be closing in on its tails? I bet it will be. With Miss Philippines Earth 2019 going into full swing mode this month and finished by next, the search for the successors of Katarina Rodriguez, Maureen Montagne, Alyssa Muhlach Alvarez and Kimi Mugford will be starting soon. I’m interested to find out who among our 2019 Binibinis will cross-over (or plot a return) to the accepting arms of the Miss World Philippines Organization.
Who do you think will make the move? Nicole Guerrero? Julia Saubier? Ilene de Vera? or Jessica Marasigan?

Photos from the Sendoff Press Conference held at Novotel Manila Araneta Center in honor of #MissEcoPhilippines Maureen Montagne who will represent the country in Miss Eco International to be held in Cairo, Egypt from March 12-29.
Her fellow Queens – Miss World Philippines Katarina Rodriguez, Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas Alyssa Muhlach Alvarez and Miss Multinational Philippines Kimi Mugford- and National Director Arnold Vegafria were around to give their moral support and well-wishes to our competing rep.
Best of luck, Mo! And go for the back-to-back win!
Is it just me or is Miss Filipinas Alyssa Muhlach Alvarez not creating enough impact to win over the judges in Sta. Cruz de la Sirrra, Bolivia for Reina Hispanoamericana 2018? You see, I have diligently followed the competition on social media and even the coverage of the official promotions arm of the Organizers – PGloria. Her inclusion in the events is a far cry from the way Teresita Ssen Marquez has been made part of almost everything from the minute she set foot in the host country. She missed the shortlist in the challenges unlike her predecessor who was part of all the segments.
This time, she is there alright. But any observer will need to look closely before noticing her presence. The bets of Mexico and Brazil are stepping it up big time. And while they’re doing so, the wardrobe of our bet is paling in comparison. I don’t know but she looks unhappy with the way things are unfolding.
Finals will be up soon. I hope she can at least reach a good placement so as not to fall way behind our top finish in 2017.
Miss Filipinas Alyssa Muhlach Alvarez brings to life the national costume that Designer Maestro John created for her in Reina Hispanoamericana 2018. It may not be as big and uber-festival-like as the ones worn by the Latinas, but she definitely presented it well.
In the meantime, below are her photos from the courtesy lunch/visit that the candidates made to the Mayor of the City of Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
The first time I watched the full introductory video of Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2018 Alyssa Muhlach Alvarez for Reina Hispanoamericana 2018 during the sendoff, I started getting goosebumps all over my arms.
Time for you to watch the clip (filmed inside Patio Victoria Intramuros) now to appreciate our bet even more!
Earlier in the day, Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2018 Alyssa Muhlach Alvarez departed for Sta. Cruz, Bolivia to join the other candidates of Reina Hispanoamericana 2018. She boarded a PAL flight that is now bringing her to New York City before connecting to her second segment that will land her in the South American city.
Below is a video of the message of Miss World Philippines 2018 Katarina Rodriguez to Yssa during the sendoff held last Thursday at Annabel’s Restaurant in QC. Click to watch now.
When I found out that Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 Teresita Ssen Marquez was going to be one of the judges during last night’s Binibining Cebu 2018 Finals at the Waterfront Hotel Cebu City, I immediately pulled her aside to give a message to Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2018 Alyssa Muhlach Alvarez. You see, she missed the sendoff the other day due to a shooting schedule for her new film.
During yesterday afternoon’s Official Sendoff for Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2018 Alyssa Muhlach Alvarez – and when everyone was milling around her – I grabbed the chance to corner Miss World Philippines 2018 Katarina Rodriguez and started an instant one-on-one where we discussed her new look, her thoughts about that fateful night when she won the right to represent our country in Miss World 2018 and how her preparations for Sanya are progressing along.
Below is a normannorman.com Exclusive on the girl who screams “World!” and how she is determined to become the Philippines’ second wearer of the Miss World Organization’s Blue crown. Click to watch.
Hi! Norman here. When I'm not working, I spend most of my free time planning on daily blogs. If you will notice, I always make sure that a fresh topic comes out everyday - not an easy thing to do but it's all good. Thanks for dropping by and enjoy the visit!
