From Origin Models Management – the same modeling agency that fielded Beatrice Luigi Gomez and Tracy Maureen Perez in 2021 – Chantal Schmitz is being rumored to be one of the next protégés that might be fielded in the nationals. This 5’7” Law student has been getting the buzz of late. Will she pursue?
On the other hand, another rumored joiner is Binibining Pilipinas International 2019 Patch Magtanong who – just like Ahtisa Manalo – is said to be looking at 2022 for a possible Miss Universe Philippines crossover. She was largely non-committal last 2020 due to a still pending contract with BPCI followed by an anticipated employment in a law firm. Is the coast clear this time around?
Here is the teaser you have all been waiting for.
Bb. Pilipinas 2020 is all set to achieve its highly-anticipated climax this 2021.

Last year, the Philippines claimed its first-ever 1st Runner-Up finish in Miss International when Ma. Ahtisa Manalo placed second to eventual winner Mariem Claret Velazco of Venezuela. It was a placement that could have gone either way for the two fiercely-competing countries which have so far collected the most number of wins in the Japan-based competition.
This year, will it be a duplicate for the Philippines with Atty. Bea Patricia Magtanong? There’s always a good chance of that happening, just as making it simply to the Top 5 or the Top 10 is the best that she can deliver in the finals.
Personally, I am rooting for Patch. So I really hope that she becomes our 7th.
Anyways, below are some rehearsal photos for the Final Gala of Miss International Beauty Pageant 2019 with her.
The coronation will be streamed live on the pageant’s Facebook page, Youtube channel and Hikari TV starting at 2pm (Japan time) tomorrow afternoon (around 1pm in the Philippines).
Since the finals of Miss Universe Philippines | Bb. Pilipinas 2019 will already happen three nights from now, let’s look back at the Q&A performances and crowning moments of the Bb. Pilipinas 2018 titleholders in the videos below.

The #AQ2018 Presentation Show was held at the Mayuree 2 Ballroom of Dusit Thani Manila hours earlier where members of the camp’s Class of 2018 were presented to selected members of the media and invited guests. But before I give you some juicy details, let me clarify first that the more than twenty beauties presented are being fielded not only in Bb. Pilipinas 2018, but also Miss World Philippines and – possibly – Mutya ng Pilipinas. And there are two (2) more ladies – relative thoroughbreds in my opinion – have not been introduced yet. I was told that these duo will beat the deadline set by BPCI. If you want clues, check the final sentence in this entry.
Anyways, the usual suspects were formally introduced. I cannot name all of them yet (especially the newbies) so as to protect their identities for now. Not all of them will make it to the list of Binibinis for 2018, and as I have said, some of them are being prepared for MWP2018 instead.
The familiar names and faces so far are Volleyball superstar and former PBB Housemate Michele Gumabao, Miss Bicolandia 2017 Kayesha Clauden Chua, MWP2016 4th Princess Sandra Lemonon, Bb. Niyogyugan 2016 & Reyna ng Aliwan 2017 2nd Runner-Up Ahtisa Manalo, runway model Annalita Vizcarra, MWP2017 2nd Princess Zara Carbonell, Cebuana top model Wynonah Buot, 2015’s Binibini 33 Neesha Murjani, last year’s Binibini 28 Juliana Kapeundl plus Binibini 38 Anna Patricia Asturias.
Now how about the two heavyweights I mentioned above? Well, let’s just say that they could spell a good difference in the competition the minute they formally file their respective applications. One is a crossover national titleholder, while the other lady is the daughter of a former Bb. Pilipinas titleholder. Call it Alcoholics Anonymous meets Fifty Shades Freed. (Get it?) 😉
Her name is Ahtisa Manalo, 18. And she could be one of your Binibinis soon!
If you closely followed the search for Miss Teen Earth & Little Miss Earth Philippines back in 2014, there was one girl among the teen candidates who stood out with her mestiza features and tall height. Her name is Ma. Ahtisa Manalo from Candelaria, Quezon. She was only 16 then.
Now at 18 and showing so much promise to penetrate the big league of beauty pageants, Ahtisa has been totally transformed from a gangly (and chubbier) teen to a beautifully blossoming (and shapelier) debutante of an eye candy ready to take her place in the spotlight. She has been quite the diligent trainee when she was taken in under the wings of her idol’s camp. Who’s her inspiration? Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach no less. So that should answer two important questions for now.
At first, this lovely lass had trepidation going into the challenge of joining Bb. Pilipinas 2016. But after giving it some good hard thought, she is almost ready to take her position and go head-to-head with some of this year’s anticipated joiners. Some might say that she is still too young to field herself in the major beauty battle. But that’s where things start. And wherever the objective takes her for now, Ahtisa will be ready to face up to the task.
Watch out for Ma. Ahtisa Manalo! She is not just another Manalo, I assure you. 😉
