Cinemalaya 2012 is scheduled for July 20-29. There will be ten (10) finalists in the New Breed Full-Length Feature category, and five (5) finalists in the Directors Showcase where the movie “Mga Mumunting Lihim” (Those Little Secrets) is part of. This Jose Javier Reyes-directed indie flick stars Judy Ann Santos, Iza Calzado, Agot Isidro and Janice de Belen playing four friends who are challenged by an unexpected situation in their inter-connected lives. Early word has it that this could be one of the top box-office drawers in the festival.
“Mga Mumunting Lihim” (Those Little Secrets) is a co-production of Cinemalaya and Largavista Entertainment.
Watch out for more posts on the other participating movies in Cinemalaya 2012!

For the 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival, Regal Entertainment presents the only full-length drama in the roster of movies this year. “Yesterday Today Tomorrow” is a star-studded production which, according to Director/Scriptwriter Jun Lana, is “…about what happens to a family when faced with a tragedy and how it changes each and every member and how they deal with the tragedy that befalls them.”
Heading the cast are Maricel Soriano and Gabby Concepcion in their comeback team-up for the big screen. Joining them are Dennis Trillo, Carla Abellana, Jericho Rosales, Lovi Poe, Solenn Heussaff, Paulo Avelino, Ronaldo Valdez, Agot Isidro and introducing Eula Caballero.
I love big family dramas and this being the only movie of the genre in the MMFF, I will surely queue during the long weekend before New Year.
Watch out for “Yesterday Today Tomorrow” starting December 25.
I’ve always been a silent fan and admirer of Agot Isidro. She is not your typical showbiz personality who constantly hugs the limelight or gets involved in intrigues and controversies just to sustain popularity. Hers is more of being relatively low-profile but with steady non-expiring shelf life, so to speak. I can also attest to this beautiful lady being both intelligent and well-spoken. I’ve had the chance to meet her in person during one of the lulls in her showbiz career. She tried entering the corporate world a few years back and was being considered for a plum position in one of the country’s top retail companies. I handled her assessment report then and part of the procedure was to conduct a one-on-one interview. Her gift of gab is effortless, on top of scoring high in the intellectual evaluation.
After a successful turn as a fashionista villain in the top-rating ABS-CBN TV drama “Tayong Dalawa“, I am happy to report that Agot has released a new CD entitled “White Lace & Promises.” The last time before this was in 2006 with “The Island” which had a bossanova theme. For the new one, it is more romance-driven in the sense that it contains a dozen adaptation of songs that are popularly associated with weddings. It reportedly took her a long time to manage a short-list from more than a hundred possible inclusions in the album. The 12 songs that finally made the cut are:
1. Ngayon at Kailanman
2. Here There and Everywhere
4. This Will Be (an everlasting love)
5. Together Forever
6. I Will
7. From this Moment
8. When You Say Nothing at All
9. We’ve Only just Begun
11. Looking Through the Eyes of Love
12. True Love (duet with Martin Nievera)
If you love reminiscing and/or falling in love all over again, grab a copy of Agot Isidro’s new cd. I’m sure you will enjoy listening to it especially when you’re in the mood for relaxation on a lazy evening or afternoon.
“White Lace & Promises” is now available in your favorite record bars under Polyeast Records.
