Jonas Gaffud uploaded the picture in this post showing members of Aces & Queens during their first meeting for 2016. And what else could have been the agenda? Bb. Pilipinas 2016, for sure.
The famed beauty camp is not resting on its laurels, especially not after a splendid performance for 2015:
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach
Miss Globe 2015 Ann Colis
Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International 2015/16 Leren Mae Bautista
Miss Intercontinental 2015 1st Runner-Up Christi Lynn McGarry
Miss World 2015 Top 10 and Multimedia Awardee Hillarie Danielle Parungao
The plan is to stay well in the game, while riding on the wave of the Filipinas’ popularity in the global pageant arena and facing the challenge of helping bring more honors to the country. Not the easiest of missions to sustain but these individuals are headstrong in their passion, mission and vision.
And according to Jonas himself, the group is setting its sights beyond beauty pageants. Can’t wait to see what other chapters will be opened soon.
More crowns. More honors. #ForThePhilippines 👑🇵🇭
Pia, Hillarie, Christi and Leren will start their big fights one after another (Art layout: Pao Oap)
In just hours from now, the big fight of the four Queens will begin in different parts of the world. And it would be interesting to add that all of them have been trained and polished by Aces & Queens for their respective competitions.
First stop is Magdeburg, Germany where Christi Lynn McGarry will vie to become the very first Miss Intercontinental winner of the Philippines. A lot is at stake for our statuesque representative because this is her second time joining the same pageant. And based on my following of the pre-pageant proceedings, our bet has a strong chance of making it. The ball is round, of course. But Miss Philippines is truly a regal presence amidst the roster of candidates this year.
Next in line is Sanya, China where another Miss Philippines – Hillarie Danielle Parungao – will fight for the honor of becoming the 2nd Miss World victor of the country. This one is a much more difficult challenge considering the number of delegates (114) and the host country that has never really been a big fan of our bets to reach the top. But I trust our entry to give it her absolute best. Entering the finals as an underdog could prove beneficial in a way. The mission is strong, but the pressure is just right. I’d really like to see Hil place prominently well.
3rd is the most important venue – Las Vegas, Nevada, USA – where the 64th Miss Universe (or Miss Universe 2015 if you will) is taking place. This is the one solid beauty pageant the whole Philippines would really like to snatch. It’s long overdue, and our Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach is shining bright like a diamond in spite of the headstrong competitors circling her like a school of sharks ready to gang up on one goldfish. Our Queen is game, so much so that she has pledged to bring back the best Christmas for all Filipinos – the DIC Crown.
Last but not the least, Putrajaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia will be the setting for the finals of Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International 2015 where Mutya ng Pilipinas 2015 Leren Mae Bautista will attempt to end 2015 on a note higher than the Petronas Towers. Our track record of pageant winnings in this country has been nothing short of amazing. And while some of you pageant fans have not really been convinced of the prestige the title brings, please keep in mind that a win will always be an achievement where our delegate poured her heart and soul into the fight.
#ForThePhilippines all the way, Pia, Hillarie, Christi and Leren! 😉
Janelle Lazo Tee is said to be gearing up for Miss World Philippines 2015
Janelle learning how to play the Ukulele
Another girl who is being buzzed as joining Miss World Philippines 2015 is Janelle Lazo Tee who was Davao City’s entry during Miss Philippines Earth 2014. As part of the Aces & Queens camp, she is said to be in deep training for the scheduled screenings next month. And right now, she is also seen doing active work for the Green Initiative which could potentially be her ‘purpose’ for the competition. And what’s this with her taking up lessons in ukulele playing. Is this is her talent contribution, perhaps?
Let’s watch out if Janelle will join the group of enlisters for MWP2015 on September 7-8, 2015. 🙂

Interestingly enough, the top two titles of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2015 were ‘somehow split’ by the country’s top beauty camps. Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia-Pacific International 2015 is Leren Mae Bautista of Laguna who has been ‘fleetingly guided’ by Aces&Queens but officially trained and managed by Ghune Katigbak (of Ara Arida fame
). Mutya ng Pilipinas Tourism International 2015 went to Janela Joy Cuaton of Doha, Qatar who is a product of Kagandahang Flores. The third title, a special one, was awarded to Nina Robertson of the Filipino Community of Australia. She is Mutya ng Pilipinas Overseas Communities 2015.
Julee Bourgoin of Cagayan de Oro City was named 1st Runner Up, with Brenna Cassandra getting Gamboa 2nd Runner-Up.
Congratulations, ladies! 🙂

Laura Lehmann's latest studio shots
First off, I never hid my admiration for Laura Victoria Lehmann – she who placed 1st Runner-Up during Bb. Pilipinas 2014 and who I expected to rejoin last March for Bb. Pilipinas 2015. I was always hoping that I would see her become an Official Candidate once more. But then again, her studies at Ateneo de Manila University took the steering wheel and became top priority. Perfectly understandable.
And since we have already started featuring potential joiners for Bb. Pilipinas 2016, my wish for Laura flickered once more.
Let us now watch her performance in a video collage during Bb. Pilipinas 2014. 🙂

But with the new school year, it’s looking like my favorite girl is going into study mode full time once more. Lest I be tagged as a selfish individual, I will just let her decide on things when the right time comes. 😉

Mutya ng Pilipinas 2015 has already started its regional screenings and will continue with the NCR leg within the month of June. As we all know, this pageant institution started the inclusion of Filipina reps from the Filipino communities overseas. The two ladies in this post are part of that group.
California-based Gabbie Gonzales and Czarina Hermoso are products of Binibining Pilipinas USA 2014 where they both placed in the Top 5. The latter was declared Binibining Pilipinas USA Tourism 2014, while the former placed 2nd Runner-Up. At the moment, they are being trained by Jonas Gaffud for the competition, with Carissa Cielo Medved handling their hair and make-up sessions.
If these beauties are indeed being prepped by Aces & Queens for Mutya, then I guess they have solid chances of doing well in this year’s edition. North and South California should be candidates to reckon with, in my opinion.
Do you like them, dear readers? 😉

I just want to make this big shout-out to the man behind Mercator Artist & Model Management and Aces & Queens. He is the Beauty Queen Maker who has also helped manage the talent of some of the country’s most sought-after models plus a string of celebrities on Film and TV. And to top it all, he is the brains behind Project: Beautiful You which continues to help Filipinas even in the more remote rural areas discover themselves and their inner beauty.
May you produce more beautiful World-Class Filipinas for the country to be proud of in the international pageant stage!
Happy, Happy Birthday to you! 😀
Happy Birthday, Mama J!
