Photo shows her with officials of the country’s Department of Transportation – Philippines in their first meeting/orientation.
“Very exciting to witness first hand the upcoming infrastructure projects that buildbuildbuild program is implementing. Change is happening & I’m looking forward to learn more & share my knowledge with all of you! Thank you so much for this opportunity”, says Sandra
For the past couple of months, I have grown more fond of this lady who is always committed to improving herself all-around. It may have been spurred by an unfortunate Q&A encounter during the Bb. Pilipinas 2018 Finals, but it did give her the good reason to do her homework even more.
The search is ON!

She may have failed in her twin attempts to win a national beauty title via Miss World Philippines 2014 and Bb. Pilipinas 2017. But the tall, beautiful and dusky Ruffa Nava of Iloilo will now get the chance to represent the Philippines in an international competition, and a reputable search for international models at that. She will banner the country’s participation in this year’s edition of Best Global Model of the Year to be held in Portugal.
Along with tall and good-looking Joshua Kristopher de Leon (right photo), the pair will be going to Lisbon, armed with the determination to win the country’s first-ever victory in the competition which has remained elusive so far. And by the looks of it, the owner of the search seems impressed. I chatted with Carlos Ventura Martins. He is both pleased and excited with our promising pair.
Let’s see if international modeling is the true big calling of our reps.
Best of luck, Ruffa and Joshua!
For the past few days, we saw three (3) significant country participants in Miss Universe crowning their representatives one after another:
Spain 🇪🇸 – with 5’9.5” Angela Ponce, the first-ever transgender national winner to compete in our favorite pageant;
Australia 🇦🇺 – with Francesca Hung, the vibrant 5’8” Chinese-Irish Aussie who is in the midst of her studies for a Masteral degree in Publishing;
and Thailand 🇹🇭 – with Sophida Kanchanarin, the 5’7” well-spoken Finance major from the University of Nevada in Las Vegas with a profession in Investment Banking.
Let’s compare them individually to our very own.
How does this troika of newly-crowned contenders measure up to Miss Universe Philippines 🇵🇭 2018 Catriona Gray, dear readers?
Is Cat still ahead of the pack?
