Going into the Top 15, the early favorites were swimmingly hanging on to the pole positions. But when the Top 5 Q&A went underway, the deserving winners stamped their excellent answers and were crowned as #1 in each division – a businessman (Villones) and a dentist (Villanueva), respectively.
Board of Judges included Ms Cory Quirino, Ms Dita Sandico, Fuschia Anne Ravena, Albert Kurniawan, Jikkie Lee, Ian Mendajar, MJ Ordillano and yours truly.
Pageant hosts are Michael Bristol and Shane Tormes.
This is the inspiring story of Loraine Jara, your #Binibini39 from the Province of Bulacan.
From her own words:
“My father was one of my inspirations in joining the national pageant because he was a Ginoong Pilipinas 1994 candidate. I also want to inspire people by sharing my story. I am not the typical “perfect” beauty queen you can imagine. I wasn’t able to finish my formal education – a usual basic which people expect beauty queens to show diplomas/honors from.”
At the age of 21, Loraine became an OFW and bread winner to help the family finance their needs. Suddenly during the pandemic, her mom and dad both passed away with only a one-month interval. She was left with 2 siblings to look after. It is a difficult situation but she was able to cope eventually. She became more empowered and resilient.
“Currently, I am a model and a successful business woman – a proud franchise owner of a famous convenience store chain (7-11). I decided to be my own boss because when I was at my lowest, I remember a lot of companies rejecting me for work because of an unfinished educational attainment (2nd year college undergrad FEU Makati BSBA Marketing). But you know what? I used these rejections to push harder in life. Through my business, I was able to provide for my siblings and be a blessing not just for my family but to other people as well by creating jobs that do not discriminate and give chances to those who are hard working and determined.”
She also advocates for the creation and establishment of a support system for cancer warriors and their family members. This advocacy is very close to her heart. She is now in partnership with Kythe Foundation that supports cancer-stricken kids aged 2 and above. And she is hoping to raise this to the bigger stage.
“All told, I am part of Binibining Pilipinas 2023 to inspire people to keep going in life, persevere and prove to everyone that we are capable of overcoming any and all of life’s struggles and challenges.”
Are you all excited for the National Costume photos of Binibining Pilipinas 2023? They should come out soon. But in the meantime, here are the latest shots of your #Binibini29 Trisha Martinez of Laguna to feast your eyes on.
