  1. Now that a Fil-Am won MUSA, it would be interesting to see who the pageant-crazy Filipinos both in the Philippines and in the USA will support in New Orleans– a Fil-Am or a Fil-Italian?

  2. So, let me show you my score card on how Celeste and R’bonney are at par from each other at this moment:

    Celeste R’bonney

    a. Facial beauty 100 95
    b. Body 95 100
    c. Eloquence 90 100
    d. Pasarela 95 95
    e. Fashion Style 95 98
    475 488

    That’s all.

    • @AWL, as a spokesperson in this crucial juncture in MUO’s corporate life, I think a more relevant scorecard should have more weight on eloquence and less on other criteria, and almost nil for pasarela (which has nothing to do with attracting investors and sponsors).

    • Celeste VS R’bonney

      a. Facial beauty 100 90
      b. Body 98 97
      c. Eloquence 89 100
      d. Pasarela 98 90
      e. Fashion Style 95 98
      f. Social-Media Following: 98 85

      Total SCORE: 578 VS 560

  3. Hehehe I knew it…

Celeste is more physicaly stunning but Miss USA is a better speaker…

My Current possible TOP 15 at Miss U in random order:

    Philippines
    USA
    Venezuela
    India
    Puerto Rico

    Cambodia
    South Africa
    Thailand
    Peru
    Vietnam

    Brazil
    Aruba
    Spain
    Mauritius
    Indonesia

  4. Winner Miss Texas!! First Asian American winner and a half Filipina! Philippines is really a pageant unicorn!!

    • She’s the first part-Filipino Miss Texas USA & Miss USA

      But, third part-Asian Miss USA:

      2) Brooke Lee, Miss USA & Universe 1997 (Hawaiian mix of Asian & other races)
      1) Mai Shanley, Miss USA 1983 (Chinese mother from Taiwan)

      • Don’t forget Macel Leilani Wilson, she represented Hawaii and won Miss USA 1962 and became the first Asian-Hawaiian American to win the national title.

  5. As I mentioned below, Texas is the new Miss USA
Good luck dun sa isang nag thumbs down sa comment ko lol

  6. Yesiree! R’bonney Gabriel is Miss USA 2022. I believe it was hers to lose. She becomes the 10th Miss Texas to win the Miss USA title.

Fellow Filipina-American advanced into the top 16.

    High-fives all around!

    • Don’t celebrate too much….Baka maging Miss Philippines 2.0 ang peg ni Miss USA….

So now, we have Miss Philippines Italy and Miss Philippines USA!!!!

I can only dream of a competition of Miss Philippines from all over the world and call it Miss Philippines Universe!!!! hihihihihi

      • That idea is, more or less, the gist of the MFI. It will turn out to be a coming-together of women from all over to celebrate all things positively superlative about ‘Philippines’, regardless of whether or not they have Philippine DNA.

At least that’s how I understand it… Unless they make Philippines ancestry a must. A carry-over from their ‘Fil-Comm’ sash, perhaps.

(Mister Blogger, congratulations! With this post, you helped make the victory possible. Pero, maka-off-topic sana… Kailan po ba sila? Their Nationals. Then, the international…)

    • My bad.
Fellow Filipina-American, Suzanne Perez of New Mexico, advanced into the top 12!!

  7. Miss Philippines Texas won!!!! hihihihih
Paktay ka Cheleste! We have an American with Pinoy blood na sa MUO.

  8. R’bonney Gabriel is the new Miss USA! Well-deserved. Congratulations!

    That’s all.

    • Wow! A beautiful intelligent entrepreneur and socio-economic advocate must be what MUO needs as a spokesperson in its period of financial crunch. She’s Miss USA 2022 but her inner beauty screams Filipino! I think she is the girl to beat in the coming MU edition.

      • Super agree, dear. R’bonney is a full package. She won Miss USA fair and square with so much ease.

Like I said here before, I reiterate how she amazed me about her eloquence during her interviews. She’s got full charm. She has that Jennifer Lopez aura that one cannot simply brush aside. She’s drop-dead gorgeous, too.

I think R’bonney is the half-Filipina who is a threat to another half-Filipina in Miss U in January 2023.

        That’s all.

      • India and SA can speak, but not as fluid as R’bonney. You may want to search for her interview with Sharon of a local TV in Texas on Youtube, and you’ll be amazed by her. I have watched it more than 7x already. Haha!

        That’s all.

  9. Texas nailed the gown and swimwear competition during the prelims.
I believe she could win it all.

  10. Texas is the Venezuela of Miss USA. With eight national crowns under their belt they are due for a ninth winner. R’bonney Gabriel has the goods to make it happen.
    Get em’ girl!

  11. I’d love R’bonney Gabriel to take the MUSA crown home to Texas, and talk more about her environmentally sustainable dressmaking advocacy with Magpies & Peacock on national TVs.

The last Miss Texan who won the crown was Crystle Stewart who incidentally is the national director of the MUSA pageant.

The next Miss Universe is a Filipina, and she may be in the person of R’bonney. Who knows? She has all the qualities of a Miss Universe.

    That’s all.

    • So, R’bonney has just won Best in State Costume. Logically, that is the correct award since the contest pertains to the costume of the state each candidate represents in the national competition.

So why in the national pageants here in the Philippines do we call it “Best in National Costume” when the candidates fight for the province, city or region they represent in the nationals?

      That’s all.

      • Because it works in America & not in Philippines…?

It has been discussed in this forum, how the ‘Miss Philippines’ idea never took off. Yeah, IDEALLY EACH ‘Province’ conducts a ‘state/(prefecture)’ pageant to send reps to Mutya, BBP, Earth, whichever… 70+ agad ‘yun, kung nagkataon.

But organizations here conduct ‘screenings’, so that can mean a free-for-all for the most part. Also contributing may be the local pageant ‘culture’ of small-town (manner of speaking, no malice) pageant enthusiasts who band together to launch their town belle. Kanya-kanya’ng ‘TEAM’. 🙂

MUP had that idea to tap into HUCC’s (highly-urbanized cities & capitals), but so far it doesn’t seem they’ve completed that list they put out as their target. Puhon. ❤

      • Flor, they could instead use the words “Best in Regional Costume”.

        That’s all.

      • True.

But to MUP’s credit, the thematic costume/dress was a hit! The ‘Carnival Queen’ last year was a welcome change of pace, if unifying the look of the ‘NatCos’ runway peppered with pleasant outliers (Mindanao, plain ‘terno’, etc.).

        (Now I remember MUP 2022 candidate #1 – a MWP cross-over – in striking all-black… ❤ )

MUP should explore the possibilities. Just like MPE's 'CoVid Craze' capitalizing on a bad situation, turning it into a ray of sunshine (incidentally, the eventual winner of that Preliminary went on to win the pageant's first virtual edition).

  12. Texas has been getting alot of buzz. What a treat if all three advance to the top 10.

    All the best, ladies!

  13. Nebraska is Miss Teen USA 2022 … very highly possible that they will go two for two and also win Miss USA 2022 … very beautiful face Miss Nebraska USA 2022 , it will all depend on interview but based on her background , she is solid … I still say Delaware is a spoiler for the day

  14. I have a good feeling that Texas could reach the TOP 5 and maybe even win it.

    • I’d love R’bonney Gabriel to take the MUSA crown home to Texas, and talk more about her environmentally sustainable dressmaking advocacy with Magpies & Peacock on national TVs.

The last Miss Texan who won the crown was Crystle Stewart who incidentally is the national director of the MUSA pageant.
