Wow. Malakas~maganda siguro. To be included – ‘parked’ – in rank 6 to 10 means you’re placed on ‘stand-by’ in case anyone in the Top 5 screws up. 🙂

If Hang Manita goes as far as you predict, KF can practically CLAIM.
If ‘Amazonas’ does not win MV 2022 (for MU 2023, as Mr. Blogger said in that post), I’m OK for Amanda Dudamel to bring her country back to such prominence.

Parang si Curacao ‘yun’g Latina super beauty I had in mind… Or another ‘C’ group? Chile? Costa Rica?… Not Colombia…

Belle-toille (Mauritius) & Swelia (Angola, Netherlands previously) are the cross-overs from Poland. I hope at least one of them goes as far as Top 10.

Anna… Imagine if she won,RLL would be delirious with delight. Siya! Sige. I’ll go with your Top 5 if you demote Peru.

… Though in your 16 to 20, i would like to nudge Telma Madeira (Portugal) in. I’ll have to bump out… (BEEP!).

      • Hello jonalyn I am back.

      • Parang divining rod. Tumutuklas ng tubig sa disyerto! Ayos ‘yan, ‘ah.

Kung Latina, I am of the impression MUO veers away from those who (already) have some sort of American background, or crossed-over (from another international pageant). Runner-up at best. MU-Puerto Rico 2019 (from Grand) & MU-Peru 2020 (from Supra) come to mind. For this reason, I’m really concerned for Guatemala… Baka fresh face wins!

    • @Chezka- Hello sis. Ok naman ako. Ikaw, kumusta ka na? Wala akong balita sa friend nating yan. Have a wonderful Thursday sis. Keep safe. 😘

  4. I’m excited what criteria MUO will have for 71st edition as this is the most crucial phase of its existence. Will it choose someone who can bring it revenues but not that beautiful? Let’s see.

    • @Lireo: This is indeed a crucial year for MUO that is reported to be up for sale. Business logic dictates that its choice of a spokesperson will be based primarily on qualities that will draw potential new investors, attract corporate sponsors, expand market reach, recapture lost markets, and excite the massive Millenial and GenZ markets. Physical beauty, though relative and culture-defined, radiates into a universal beauty when one posesses the intellect and the values of an effective brand ambassador.

  5. New Orleans, a city that pulsates French vibe. . A city where my favorite singer Christopher Edwin Breaux (French sounding surname) is originally from, also known as the reclusive Frank Ocean.
The epicenter of hurricane Katrina, the melting pot of people of color, with rich history about the darkest era ot humanity; the slave trade, the home of the crawfish delicacy and the birthplace of jazz mueic.
Considering all of these, a mullata or a black woman will be crowned this year.
    That’s all @AW-L

    • Noted on that, Dear. Let’s see who’s gonna win talaga. But for sure, the next MU embodies the characteristics the Org is looking for a candidate – Sponsor’s appeal. Charot.

      That’s all.

  6. 10 days is too short for Miss Universe pageant. Should be at least 20days in order for the candidates to enjoy the place, bonding with co-candidates and will have enough time for the rehearsals. Mukha silang pagod during the finals.
I suggest Celeste should come to New Orleans days before the pageant para makapag relax and makapag adjust.

    • and have her wear dresses designed and crafted by aspiring Pinoy designers on daily basis, post on social media many times each day, and ensure her recently improved bosoms reach her collarbone.

  7. I really hope they do incorporate cultural aspects of New Orleans in the overall production of the pageant. I still miss the older editions where they had host country’s culture on display at the opening. I enjoy watching the classic swimsuit competition during Miriam’s year.

    • @4M. I HIGHLY AGREE WITH YOUR OPINION. I ALSO MISS THAT ASPECT OF THE PAGEANT WHEREIN THEY INCORPORATED THE HOST COUNTRY’S CULTURE, TRADITION, AND SCENIC SPOTS IN THE PRODUCTION. THAT WILL INCREASE THE PRODUCTION VALUE OF THE PAGEANT IF THEY BRING THAT BACK.

      • they still include culture and arts in the MU productions .. Israel had a lot of those last year … beautiful production !

what they removed are the song and dance production numbers during the show where the delegates participate … like in Namibia 1995 ( I love that song of Jon Secada ) and in Miami 1985 ( super production number James Bond theme )

      • Not well enough jaretwrightlover. 2021 MU production was expensive but very generic. Older MU editions especially during the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s had their cultural dancers performed on the stage. The stage set ups reflected the cultures, traditions, arts, and scenic spots of the host countries. That used to be the trademark of MU. That was MU’s distinguishing feature from other finternational pageants. They should bring that back. MUO should exploit the rich cultures and traditions of New Orleans as the theme of 2022 MU finals.

      • well , let us wait for the 75th (diamond) anniversary of MU pageant

Maybe for nostalgia , they will bring back all those segments from the past MU pageants

They better prepare for mucho dolyares to do those …

    • One of my favorite opening numbers was in 1994 especially the song. And I like those little sisters as well.

    • Agree.

Sana parade of nations pre-taped sa Bourbon Street parang Miss Universe 2022

      Tapos Jazz music

  8. @AWL, hello! I still think though that this edition’s crown will be fought more in the area of whose persona can literally launch “a thousand ships”of funds– working capital and/or additional equity– to help MUO shore up its ebbing financial resources. I’m afraid this is not much a function of physical beauty as it will be more on intellect and the region/ country where the candidate comes from. This time around, I think MUO will look for a spokesperson who can effectively sell MU’s vision to potential investors, recapture lost markets in the First World economies, develop new non-traditional markets (oil-rich mid-East for instance) and engage the Millenials and Gen Zs whose view on beauty seems to diverge from the traditional concept still espoused by beaucon organizations.

  9. I think MUO’s choice of staging its Miss Universe pageant in January next year in New Orleans is the wisest. For one, it won’t be brushed aside by the granddaddy of all festivals, the Mardi Gras. Millions flock to the city to grace the annual festival and I don’t think they would pave the way for a beauty pageant than the most anticipated Mardi Gras. Rather, the MUO may make wave by doing a prelude to the festival in January, showcasing the fabulous festival-like national costumes of different participating countries in MU on the streets of New Orleans. Wouldn’t it be nice then? For another, January is the calmest month of the year in the city. I think the candidates would have a great time touring the city than any month thereafter.

And so, how is our Celeste Cortesi’s preparation for the pageant going so far? I think she needs to work double time because this year is going to be a bloodbath of real gorgeous beauties in Miss Universe. So far, the following are her great competitions:

    1. Puerto Rico’s Ashley Ann Cariño – this stunning morena is the Tamaryn Green version of MU 2022. That kind of beauty has yet to clinch the most coveted crown, as our very own Catriona Gray blocked Tamaryn’s chance for the crown. I really want a stunning morena get the MU crown.

    2. Chile’s Sofia Depassier. Raised in the US, this professional model and actress has the face that could launch a thousand ships. If it’s still a Trump era in Miss Universe, she could easily get her way up to the throne.

    3. Bahrain’s Evlin Khalifa. This Arab beauty is truly a breath of fresh air in pageantry. I believe she will hardly be ignored in the MU’s next edition, albeit their country’s non-sash factor standing in pageantry.

    4. Curacao’s Gabriela Dos Santos. This brunette beauty is ready to take up a space in the universe. I think her Team Curacao is gearing up for the country’s exciting bid for the crown.

    5. Guatemala’s Ivana Batchelor. Although our very own Samantha Bernardo outdid her in the recent MGI pageant, this blonde beauty can pull off a major victory in MU if she gets good preparation therefor.

Although I don’t see Thailand a frontrunner and a threat to Celeste, we cannot underestimate this girl’s and her country’s determination to finally get the third MU crown. Anna (not Winter-Lund)’s pageant training with Lou Sierra gives her an edge over other frontrunners.

In the case of Celeste, we have a good fight for the crown. She is the type of bet who assures us with the easiest passport to the semi-final. Her Kendall Jenner fragile look is highly marketable and I believe the MUO would love to have her in their pool. I just hope that Catriona’s passion and Pia’s thirst would coalesce with her.

    That’s all.

    • Also- January given an “off season” travel time to New Orleans, the cost of traveling will likely be cheaper….

  10. Wow! I am so excited about this news! I wished it falls during mardi gras around 3rd week of February. Anyway, even if it happens in January, New Orleans is still a vibrant city which is suitable site for MU. I am looking forward to the most beautiful day in the universe!

  11. It is a good thing it is in early part of January 2023 , waiting is not a pain … but there was a survey recently about safety in new orleans … it is not good … they should provide super tight security for the ladies …
