In the short clip above, Miss Universe Organization President Paula Shugart told Dyan Castillejo during an interview that the next Miss Universe will definitely happen in January, 2023 in a place that is built for fun, food and tourism.

The buzz is slowly building up for a return to the USA, or New Orleans, Louisiana if you will. But until the organization makes the official announcement next week, nothing is still certain.

  1. Miss Universe Thailand was at the MUO Office during Dyan’s interview of Paula. Could Bangkok be hosting again? Bangkok is a center of fun, food and tourism after all ! Or could it be Sydney, Australia where it will be Summer in January?

    • If Anna wins :

      1. Thailand COULD host next year.
      2. That win COULD hint at a potential ‘new partner to MUO’. After all, the past post said Endeavor was looking to parties ‘… in Asia or Latin America’*.
      3. One of us said in an earlier comment (I don’t recall in which post) that either Thailand or Vietnam are ‘ripe/ready’ for a win.
      4. Fabian Reyes’ comment here. Minsan-minsan na nga lang siya lumitaw, kaya take it seriously. 🙂
      5. Presumably, RLL will still be involved in Anna’s preparations in some capacity. So, a win for her would indirectly be some sort of victory for the country as well.

      (* – Guys, would you rather a Latin American entity? Just from the standpoint of proximity, mas maigi na’ng sa ‘neighborhood’ natin.)

      For our MUP, it is interesting how deep in The Camp will be able to place a ward. They kept themselves exclusive for MU, practically shunning the other major Philippines nationals. Now we will see just how SHARP they are!

  3. Louisiana is south of the country, & it’s January (Winter) so at least it won’t be too cold. 😉

    If it is in US , then not good news for Celeste , I would put her chances of winning below 50% , but if it is in Paris or San Jose or Busan or Dubai … her chances are higher …
