The long wait is now over. After successfully mounting its second virtual pageant last year, #MISSEARTH2022 is taking on a Hybrid format with virtual and on-ground events in the country. Followers around the globe can look forward to an exciting production of the finals showcasing the Philippines’s breath-taking tourism destinations and, of course, the beauty of the earth ambassadors – environmental advocates to take part in a life-changing experience.
“Although the pandemic is still upon us, we are making sure that all safety and health protocols are observed in order for the delegates to have a live on-ground pageant experience in a safe environment – which is what the pageant advocates for,” expresses Ramon Monzon, President and Co-Founder of MISS EARTH.
90 #MissEarth delegates from different countries will be in the Philippines by November 12 and take on this year’s theme, “ME Loves Fauna,” to emphasize the importance of caring for animal life. The theme also gives awareness of how animal life, whether wildlife or domestic, and especially the endangered species, are essential members of the environment which must be given proper care and attention.
“Apart from this meaningful undertaking, showcasing the beauty of the Philippines to the world, as it rises up from the pandemic, would be beneficial to our tourism industry. The pageant will give more focus on staging events outdoors showing nature and picturesque eco landscapes as much as possible to showcase its beauty and at the same time lessening its carbon footprint with natural lighting,” Lorraine Schuck, EVP and co- Founder of Miss Earth further elaborated.
The virtual and on-ground events and activities will be live streamed worldwide from MISS EARTH social media accounts – its official YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tiktok and website, starting October 24 towards the finals on November 27, 2022.
MISS EARTH 2022 finals will be streamed online and telecast on national and international TV stations.
They must have already struck a deal with another group to run the pageants, MPE & ME. The last pageant’s incompetence was just unbelievable. It’s like they didn’t want to shell out anymore money to at least have a semblance of order or even malasakit for their brand. 💐
With so many CLEAN, ORGANIC ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY products in the market, why can’t they get a cause-worthy sponsor. I guess online bingo lessens one’s carbon footprint 🙋🏻♀️
Super Bongga kung c Toni G. Soriano Ang mag Host sa Grand coronation night Ng ME 🤪😊
Tapos c Andrew E Ang singer sa evening gown competition 🤪😊
Labas na Ang mga mentally disturbed patients 😱😆😊
I support you beb!!! ❤❤❤
Among the top global pageants, ME has the most relevant advocacy, an issue that deals with an existential threat to humanity. Climate change action is so urgent that the UN no less calls for all governments to do its utmost best to squarely address this gnawing environmental menace. Yet other than the yearly crowning of a beautiful earthling, nothing earth-shaking is heard in-between. Even its yearly crowning event is so laid back for an advocacy that should attract the most number of corporate sponsors and institutional partners. Just when consumer products all over the world are branding along the timeliest of all themes– natural, organic, biodegradable, recyclable, chemical-free, etcetera– ME does not seem to attract corporate sponsors that can adequately provide financial lifeline to a global operation, let alone a once-a-year world-class show.
I thought our homegrown pageant hit a jackpot with its environmental advocacy theme but it seemed unable to seize the golden opportunity to capitalize on the global market pulse and UN directional guides to catapult the organization into the Top Pageantry Brand in the World. It has the potential of being at the epicenter of global climate change action yet it chose to be on the sidelines, seemingly content with simply sashaying its way to the altar of Mother Nature. As @JustPassingBy pleads: “Make [us] Filipinos proud!”
If Miss International has recently partnered with UN Sustainable Development Goals, in the process potentially changing its brand imagery and its beauty paradigm, I wish Miss Earth can partner with Paris Agreement/ UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. Unlike MI, it does not have to change its brand optics– it will in fact boost its current brand essence. ME brand is known for innovative segments in the selection of its queen. I don’t see any reason why it will not be able to find its rightful place in the economic and social transformation of countries as they attain their respective Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
This must be Miss Earth’s best press release since its inception.
Sana everything lives up to this.
Please MEO and Carousel Productions, make Filipinos proud.
Ayusin sana nila ano at hindi yung parang sa likod-bahay lang ginawa yung pageant at mas maganda pang maituturing yung mga miss gay sa mga barangay. And also, crown a winner na hindi kailang i-defend na parang thesis (Hi Karen Ibasco). Ayusin niyo ito, Carousel Productions. Elevate the Filipino brand!
I AM EXCITED ABOUT THIS NEWS. I JUST HOPE THAT CAROUSEL PRODUCTION HAS CONTINGENCY PLAN IN CASE THE WEATHER DOES NOT COOPERATE. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO AN EXCITING PRODUCTION OF THE FINALS WHICH WILL BE HELD OUTDOORS WITH SUNLIGHT AS NATURAL LIGHTING AND THE VIEW OF NATURE AS NATURAL BACKDROP. HOLDING THE EVENT IN THIS MANNER IS ITSELF A POWERFUL GESTURE BY THE ORGANIZATION TO INFLUENCE AND PERSUADE EVERY CITIZEN OF THE EARTH TO REDUCE ONE’S CARBON FOOTPRINT.
Nawat is watching, bigyan nyo siya ng Darna pasabog at Lolong #s$ls*l drama!
when MUP broke away from Bb , a lot of quality candidates who used to join MEP now flock to either MUP or Bb… proof is the last MEP 2022 which left much to be desired … I hope they do not raise to much expectation for ME 2022 because it might leave a lot of fans disappointed in the end … may the best Earth warrior win ! and I hope it is a new country winner , just like last year with Belize !
Among the four major international pageants (Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International and Miss Earth, in that order), it is Miss Earth that has most relevance in terms of global issues affecting our mother Earth.
However, I don’t think the Miss Earth Organization has taken advantage of its platform to engage fully well on very timely environmental issues plaguing the world, the Earth rather, such as climate change, forest denudation, water and air pollution, among others.
In fact, we only do feel Miss Earth’s presence during pageant season, notwithstanding the more Earth-shaking destructions that are taking place left and right off-pageant season, on which the organization is expected to engage to an extent it can.
Gladly, there is Miss Earth Water 2006 Catherine Untalan who lives by her cause and has made some movements, particularly when she co-petitioned to the Supreme Court against UPLB’s proposed trials of bioengineered eggplants (G.R. No. 209271). I admire Ms. Untalan for that, and she is my favorite Miss Earth Philippines to date.
Miss Earth is a powerful brand. I just wish that the organization would go beyond crowning a deserving girl every year.
That’s all.
SANA NAMAN WAG ULANIN, AT PWEDE BA PAKIWALISAN MAN ANG FLOOR KASI MAKALAT. KAWAWA NAMAN ANG HOST NITO KASI LALANGAWIN AT LALANGGAMIN….
‘… Natural lighting’ means the Finale, as was the recently-concluded MPE, will be done in the DAYTIME. Kung sa bagay, kahit ‘yun’g virtual editions nga pala, tumapat ng 1200H sa ‘tin, which means…
… Midnight in the USA East Coast,…
4 AM in the UK,…
9 AM in the Indian Subcontinent,…
10 AM in Bangkok…
😦
Admin, baka puwede’ng i-request na medyo i-adjust. OK lang ba kung morning natin, para ‘di gaano’ng mahirapan foreign fans?
ME has given us memorable beauties like Drouin (pre-that other big pageant), Vavrushkova, Cortesi, & Madeira. Excited much!
(Cont.)
Malamang naman ‘to, ‘di open-air… Some folks are trivializing the weather argument. Maliit na bagay!
‘Eh, ‘di sa Okada Dome ulit. Kaya umaga kasi ‘di ba thunderclouds usually build up towards the afternoon?… And keep it tight (not more than 2 hours) & smooth~classy!
Guys, baka nakaklimutan natin, ang (Poland-based pageant) last year, AFTERNOON nag-Finale. The stage was not incredibly huge but well-lit kaya bongga pa rin arrive.
Crowning Karen Ibasco was the biggest mistake they’ve ever done. Lmfao. Glad they’re learning from these embarassments. It’s not a declamation contest. Finally they are now crowning goddesses.
While I agree with her win if the Q and A was the basis, she should not have reached that segment in the first place. Tanggal na dapat Beauty of Face kemerut pa lang.
I am glad I am not alone on this one. Wala talagang ganda si Karen Ibasco. Huwag kayong mga in denial.
I agree naman that Karen is not at her best looks during the finals… Mas maganda sya the following year.
But ifb the basis is the final q and a, no doubt si Karen ang number 1.
Anyway tapos na yon let’s move on.
Hay…heavy words. Just make an exciting presentation.
