Here are some photos from the Kagandahang Flores Orientation of its Batch 2022 candidates for the national pageants. The whole day activity was held at the KF Camp in Scout Borromeo. The ladies are a good mix of fresh faces, veterans and a few surprises.

And below, your blogger was able to corner Rodgil Flores for a short interview prior to the start of the twin presscons held earlier at the Laurel Mansion.

  1. So far, Roberta Tamondong, Chelsea Fernandez and Natasha Jung are the most promising in this KF team. And Roberta and Chelsea as the most competitive.

  2. I’m actually hoping na Ang next MWP will be from KF this time. Dyusko their last MWP pa I think is si Maggie (in 2007) grabe ang tagal na. Lol

    • @ Diana Hayden Yup. Now fifteen (15) years ago…

      You know what? If MU ‘SEEMS’ to want to work only with a particular camp (or two), why not KF ACTIVELY PURSUE taking on the MWP franchise? It’s still competition, after all.

      From what I know, MW is not as costly to join as MU. And it can be impetus for the camp to up its game even more. ‘Ika nga ni @ scorg, patayan na ang business climate ngayon. Lalo na’t ‘Gen Z’ globalized at Internet-ized. Kasi the way I see it, mas aggressive ang MUP/other camp sa digital formats & paradigm. Quite honestly, why does KF give an ‘old world/Jurassic’ feel?

  3. Sana nga wag sukuan ng KF ang mup. It happened with MUP. Naging confident masyado ang aces in 2018 with Katarina na kesyo sure win. Pagdating sa MW nganga. Mas maganda may competition na seryoso talaga

  4. KF should get Ayn Bernos to help improve their candidates’ performance in Q&A.

    They’re trying to rebrand but it seems they’re still tentative about MUPh. Wala ba silang roadmap to achieving a breakthrough at MUPh & Universe?

    I see so much passion & commitment in this camp. I hope they won’t be stuck in the mindset that their lane is International & Earth & they will stick to it & give up na sila sa Universe because the more competitive the field at the national level, the better the results at the international level.

    KF produced pageant magic with Samantha Bernardo at MGI. They showed us the talent & capacity is there. I hope they can build on that.

    • @ SQ Yeah! Remember that dedicated post not too long ago? Was it their anniversary? Where new trainors were introduced?

      What I note about KF is that they tend (?) to focus on ladies na, let’s just say, are ‘not exactly in that elite crop of society’s A-B demographic’… A&Q, for example, puts premium on products of the country’s leading academic institutions. Does that need to translate to KF being literally cheap?

      Pero kung grassroots ang pag-uusapan, baka mas malawak ang network ng KF; they even have a Cebu Bureau! I recall Boy Abunda during that post-pageant interview of the BBP 2021 queens where he shared that there was a time Rodgil Flores & himself judged at Barangay pageants (this, of course, means forging vital connections with handlers & talent managers at the municipal level).

      And don’t forget that KF can get international assignments for its senior/retiring queens. See Shane & Shannon, Global & Elite, respectively.

      (They even have a men’s program – KF Men. And this has produced winners, too.)

      KF is, as we know, aligned with an events production division/business. They help bring the ME pageant to life.

      What all this points to is FINANCIAL CAPACITY. But would you then say it’s quantity over quality? Tito Rodgil answered to Tito Norman, “we send reps to all pageants… (similar, in that video)”.

      • Well ang rami na kayang UP graduates from KF if that’s what you mean. Meron ding Atenista, La Sallista at from UST. di mo lang siguro pansin dahil hindi nanalo.

        Maybe what I should have said instead was — hindi ‘first priority’ ng ‘elite college girls’ ang KF…?… Mas preferred nila A&Q, & the latter only EVER gets the very cream of the crop & the rest will have to settle for ‘second option’?

        Is that a fair assumption? Kasi halimbawa, did Atty. Patch ever screen at KF? Given that many hold her in quite high regard… Oh, my goodness. I just dug a hole I’d probably get stuck in!

        I am not disputing na hindi ko nga alam. Kaya ako nagtatanong. But this is my impression. Thx.

  6. Admire Rodgil Flores for his pioneering spirit, dedication and humility (simple black shirt as his uniform). I wonder what it is about the aesthetics of KF girls that do not appeal to MU organizers (be it under Bb Pilipinas and this new management).

    If the event above is just an orientation, why are those girls wearing already those seven inch torture contraptions? My pet peeve aside from veneers and botched boob jobs. Lol.

    • @ THOMAS Parte yan ng training ng BASIC cadets. Kahit simpleng day-to-day chores, full combat gear. To instill that ‘laging handa’ mindset, self-discipline, & vigilance. It can also reveal who’s slack, lazy, dead weight.

      We saw this in SamBer. Kahit ‘advanced’ na siya, complete uniform pa rin! Yup, plus those heels!

      Mga bosing lang ang binibigyang prerogative at privilege mag-casual. But in Tito Rodgil’s case, it has become something of a signature… So much that others dare not dress down in his presence.

    How the girls speak of him says how great of a mentor and person he is.

  8. I want to dwell on those ‘few surprises’.

    I think I have a sense of who they are & why/what was involved.

    Enough clues have been left here in the blog alone, even without resorting to info from other sources.

    To the point, at least two (2) defections/camp cross-overs. Kung si Maureen Montagne nga, eh. Yung quality niyang yun, she (still) felt it was necessary to have the backing & resources of KF for her final attempt at nailing the ‘Philippines’ sash, lesser creatures pa kaya. Said individuals have been featured here lately…

    And one that was (only) mentioned in a comment. Pero, mas obscure yung circumstances/motives niya.

    That being said, their ‘movement’ might not necessarily translate to a 2022 pageant date, YET.

      Does ‘surprise’ also cover departure FROM KF? To another camp? Ang alam ko lang nag-ganun, si MJ. Lumipat kay Mr. Jonas, nag-sign up sa Mercator. But of course, hindi na pageantry yun…

      Did MJ formally get Tito Rodgil’s blessings in that regard? Kahit courtesy lang. Kung sa bagay, si MM nga ‘eh, A&Q to KF but this is seen by not a few as a brilliant strategic gesture. Paid off for her.

  9. The question posed on Rodgil may be the same challenge to all pageant training camps: who are to be groomed for MUP, MWP, MEP, BBP and other national titles? It seems logical that those endowed with physical beauty and topped up with, or potentially with, superior communication skills, good scholastic credentials, and/or life-work achievements, may be assigned to pageant brands that are advocacy-driven and/or advocacy-centric. Those who still need to be tagged along with baby steps on the non-physical dimensions of beauty are assigned to pageant brands with no clear advocacy-linked platform. Fair enough– aspirants should fit the template of such pageant she is assigned to join in. Any mismatch could be a waste of time, energy and money..

  10. Tito Norms, I admire your guts for asking Sir Rodgil if they are going to field KF Girls to MUP or not. At first he said that there are girls who ask them to be trained for MUP. So, it seems to me na their interest for MUP is not that high. Only the girl-trainees got the interest to join MUP.

    Anyhow, I still salute KF for consistently making a number of girls in the nationals. ‘Yun nga lang, sana hindi sila sumuko sa MUP. They have to level up their training para makakuha ulit sila ng MUP. Kasi, kahit nung nasa BbP pa ang MUP, hirap pa rin sila to clinch the crown. They have to know kung ano ang mould ng MU: elegant yet fierce impactful goddess, a total package indeed. Good luck, KF!

  11. Who are for Bb and who are for MUP , but I hope Tamondong goes for Bb , it will be a great experience and training and exposure for worldwide pageants for her ! Then, when the time is right, go after MUP !

    • Wala pa jaretwrightlover. I think KF team is finalizing pa its decision. Anyway, bukas pa naman ang extended deadline ng MUP. But age is an important factor. MWP ceiling age for this year is 26. Meiji Cruz is turning 28, so she is (only) eligible for MPE & MUP. Or go back to BPP (again).

      Those girls who have joined MPE will probably move on to either MWP or BPP ( depende sa edad).

      Ladies who participated in Miss Bikini Philippines are most likely to be fielded to MPE and/or BPP.

      So abangan natin bukas kung sino sa KF girls ang hahabol/makahabol sa extended deadline ng MUP.

  12. Ang plastic ng sagot ni Tito Rodgil when he was put on the spot by Norman Hahaha… Hindi nya masabi na iwas sila MUP kasi alam nila wala silang chance manalo ng Top crown sa MUPh laban sa A&Q!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

      • @ Bimby Huwag mo, daw, sa KF i-endorse si Cici. Of course, that’s still in 20 years pa. Pero alam mo na, maigi nang maagap… With her mum’s looks & papi’s HEIGHT, holds promise, no?

      Meiji Cruz has greatly improved but I hope that her comskills has enhanced well-enough for her to finaly desserve a crown.😍
