  1. Janela and Jedudah’s interviews felt better than Simone’s . Isabelle and Megan were revelations.
Katrina completely lost her way. I observed that one of the seven seemed to have been reading off cue cards. Just an observation. Peace ✌️

  2. Not to be a conspiracy theorist but what if Shamcey is eyeing Victoria Vincent because she reminds her of her younger self? Think about it.

Both total pageant newbies. Decorated architects. Eloquent speakers. Not quite the fan favorite in the batch but good performers still.

I won’t mind if Victoria wins, tbh.

    • @ REGINA Nakuh, nakuh, nahuh… Were you abreast of discussions here last year as to how Rabiya might have won, a come-from-behind like Cinderella at BBP 2021? 🙂

Drama. It all began with the tea brewed but never revealed by MUP-Taguig City 2020. Ta’s, the alleged ‘friction’ between the Creative Director and one of the Runners-up… Parang pinatatamaan si National Director… Chizmax is real.

I have a sense of what Mdme.’s role might have been, if any… Basta, keep this in mind…

… If there’s anybody who has a very real say in choosing the winner, wala na’ng iba kundi ang…

      Major sponsor. Bow!

      Domo arigatou gozaimasu.

Agree ka rin siguro kay @ SQ (immediately below). Inevitable that globalization and technology will result in a generation that more and more acquires a cosmopolitan bent and the corresponding reduction in obligation to conveniently define identity with national/country borders. Naalala ko tuloy ‘yun’g isa’ng Filipina na na-feature sa isa’ng men’s magazine. In her Bio, she said she was an ‘ethnic jumble’. I come from an earlier age. My generation is the one very conscious of ‘sash’.

    • (Cont.)

It is my wish that said Runner-up will resume engagement/visibility with the organization. Patapos na rin naman ang ‘termino’ nila; it’s just a few weeks left… Para peace na ulit ang all.

    • Shamcey is a businesswoman… She wants to win MU to get her ROI ASAP…. I don’t think VVV is experienced enough to bring home the crown nor could she continue our placement streak this year. Sending her would only be a huge liability for the MUOrg.

      • I dont think so. VVV is a class of her own and there is no doubt she’s the most promising in this batch.

      • Nonsense. If that is the strategy then it would be a repeater who is going to win every year. Wag pairalin and katangahan araw-araw.

      • Hoy Sovie!!! WALA AKONG PAKI SA COLONIAL MENTALITY MO!! KAHIT IHYPE MO NG IHYPE YANG FOREIGN BORN DRAG QUEEN VERSION NI VIC SOTTO… HINDI YAN MANANALO!!! IKAW LANG NAGAGANDAHAN SA MUKHANG BANGAG ANG MATA AT MAHABA BABA!!! PORQUE FOREIGNER HINDI NA BADUY?!!! ANG BABA NAMAN NG STANDARDS MO!! NI HINDI NGA MATATAS MAGTAGALOG MUKHA PANG MANGGA!!…. ITAGA MO SA BATO.. HINDI YAN MANANALO!!!! ISINUSUMPA KO!!! PWE!!!

    • I dont think so. VVV is a class of her own and there is no doubt she’s the most promising in this batch.

  3. I find this idea of gatekeeping Filipino identity rather narrow, unnecessarily reductive, and, dare I say it, provincial (as opposed to global/cosmopolitan).

Filipinos in the diaspora are just as Filipino as Filipinos who grew up & live within the borders of the Philippines.

It just depends on how they personally identify.

I understand relatability may be a concern & Filipinos with hyphenated cultural backgrounds should navigate that with education & sensitivity.

I just don’t think we should automatically exclude Global Pinoys from the narrative of national identity.

For me, more than anything, Filipino is in the heart.

If they have Filipino heritage & love the country & want to raise our flag in competition abroad, who is to tell them they are not Filipino enough?

  4. Paranaque has a very “worldly” vibes. Looking like Megan Young and Katherine Manalo.

  5. VVV has shown she can be MUP and MU .
    Wow !
To C2F who said she is not Filipino enough , her video shows she can’t be any less Filipino than Catriona Gray .
VVV is strong on stage as she is on video!!!
I want her to be our MUP ….

    • @ Fabian Reyes (Cat and ‘Vic’ are both shy, for you? If the latter went on-cam with ‘artistas’, will she be able to hold her own? Alam mo naman dito sa ‘Pinas. Your worth as a celeb is determined solely by your ‘entertainment value’. Otherwise, you end up ‘lifestyle & glam’.)

(Do share with us your opinion on this matter, kasi ikaw ‘yun’g nagsabi’ng mahiyain talaga si Cat.)

    • CATRIONA SPENT ALMOST A DECADE EXPERIENCING ALL THE ISLANDS AND CULTURE IN THE PHILIPPINES BEFORE JOINNING OUR NATIONAL PAGEANTS… PLUS CATRIONA IS GORGEOUS WITH BEAUTIFUL EYES AND PERFECTLY OVAL FACE…. CATRIONA WAS VERY RELATABLE AND HAS COMPETELY PROVEN HER FILIPINA .. YUNG FOREIGNER NA ANAK NI VAVALU PALES IN COMPARISON…. PWE!!

  6. In an interview, there are no easy and hard questions– only insightful answers. The questions are all very interesting and penetrating. The candidates’ answers reveal how much they truly know themselves and their intellectual depth– verbally and non-verbally. Discounting the varying levels of English facility, I think everyone was able to communicate their inner beauty– beautiful mind, admirable values. There are some standouts and it’s exhilarating that they are the less-hyped candidates. Big congratulations to all!

    • @ scorg It was easier last year. Right after the Press Presentation at the Manila Hotel, Tito N could immediately begin individual features… Now, he needs to await the ’30-Cut’ result before he can get started on the more obscure candidates. This Poll was a turbulence that slackened the blog!

Nakuryente na siya; he featured that certain ‘Ms. Palabrica’ na Atenista early on, only to be eliminated in the first 100-to-75 elimination. He probably thought her credentials were enough to ensure her ‘safety’. But like Mademoiselle Saubier at BBP 2019, was among the first to bid ‘adieu’. 😦

    • @ Ramon Lua We still have until 31, Tue 2359H for this Poll round. Pero, it is safe to assume who the ‘Fan Vote 3’ are. We are just awaiting the 27. Dapat by Fri, 3 Sept, not later, alam na.

  7. i found steffi okay, so engaging… she is still my favorite to win… and bea luigi gomez❤️

      • 😅😁 bea had record of winning against steffi during palarong cebu (not sure) both represented a team as muse… it was bea who was selected as the best muse edging steffi by votes ..🌈

  8. I’m happy with how the MUP Org conducted this challenge. Ayn Bernos aced this round, as expected. She was better than Victoria Vincent, IMO. My top 3 in order would be: Bernos, Victor, and Gomez.

May I point out that last year, the best speakers of the batch ended up composing the top 5? Overall top performers onstage like Alaiza Malinao, Sandra Lemonon, and Christelle Abello were left in the top 16. If the MUP Org will follow that same pattern, I predict the MUP is already in the top 7 of the interviews.

In order of preference as MUP, I want:

    Beatrice Luigi Gomez
    Victoria Velasquez Vincent
    Ingrid Santamaria
    Ayn Bernos
    Isabelle Dos Santos
    Simone Bornilla
    Megan Digal

  9. I already expected Ingrid Santamaria to do well but I did not foresee that she would be more… I’m surprised that she had the perfect balance of being relatable, aspirational and inspirational.
I hope and pray that she reaches the TOP 5…

3V may have done well but she is not relatable.. She still needs to get a crash course thats complete with experiences that would allow her to fully embody being a Filipina representative of our nation.

    • @ Closer2Fame (Kasi, sabihin na ni Uncle kung sino AP ng Paranaque City.)

      🙂

Ingrid, even at PN’s, already exuded CLASS (as befits her pedigree). When asked what she would buy in Eliat (where luxury brands are also offered), said she’d get t-shirts for everyone at home.

It suggests someone who is grounded and grateful amidst a comfortable upbringing.

You are not convinced VVV is Final 5 material. And most don’t really like Telle for that… The Camp MUST have another strong finish, to cement their reputation. Is Ingrid a sure Runner-up for you?

      • I like Ingrid… but she still needs to work on her pasarela if she want to be worthy of a Top 5 finish..

Im not a fan of Foreigners… I highly prefer someone truely a Filipina like Jasmine Umali as part of the TOP 5 over someone who’s half-English born and raised abroad….. For those people sayine Jasmine doesn’t look Filipina…. Hello, please learn history…. FYI, it was her ancestors the (Principalia) who were originaly labeled as Filipino(not the Indios)…and her ancestors were native rulers of Luzon even before colonization. She may not be ready to win this year but she will be soon… I am lookin forward to her representing our country at MU, the same way the forefathers of JRP represented our nation at the Spanish Cortes…

  10. Ms. Dimaranan, your introduction made me not want to have anything to do with you at all.

Ladies, THE WOMAN/FILIPINA that isn’t family who was inspired you most, the CORRECT answer is NOT Pia Wurtzbach. It is either of the female panelists, Mdme.’s Ramos or Supsup-Lee. Here was your chance to show how aware you were of your current situation, a vital trait of a MU! ‘Ika nga ni @Dandan, ‘read the room’.

If I were in Human Resources and I had to hire for a radio disc jockey, I would narrow down to Rabe and De Grano for that final interview with the big boss(es).

Dacuno has slang~twang. Is she raised abroad?

Singh, bff material. Engaged to her sweetheart at the Eiffel Tower, I want her to wear the Finale wedding dress at either the 2017-’18 or 2021-’22 FW HC of ‘the double C’.

Mystymyles, your name is like ‘Kyrgyztan’. Only one vowel. And the second to the last letter.

‘Polare’, the North Star… I’ve never seen that, only the front edge of the Big Dipper that point to it. Chella, honey, if we ever meet please let it be in the darkness of early morning that you might show me which/where it is.

Was it Ingrid who said the pandemic made her appreciate solitude? Came to mind Rafael Fiedler’s own response at his SupraChat, and for me the best guy this year in that aspect of competition.

    • Yes, I was impressed od Dacuno. I love Joanna Marie rabe..really down to earth person….

    • I TOTALY agree….

If you guys want to win, sucking up to the judges, staff, production ,etc. is essential aside from being relatable to gain a fanbase… First and foremost these girls should learn to realize and acknowledge who is handing out the trophies…

  11. Wow, some presumed favorites are in danger of missing the Top30 and those underdogs who did exceptionally well might take over those spots.

  12. Wow whoever created this video really sobotaged Steffi Aberasturi… LOL I see thebdifference in format…

Seems like even Tito Norman is playing favorites specialy against Steffi for having the support of the National Government…

If Shamcey is practicaly smart & wants our representative to win Miss Universe so that she’ll have a Free Franchise Fee the following year, She should crown Steffi.. because there is no way the others would have the same chance of winning the crown at Israel than her..🤣

    • Luh? kung tutuusin ang dadali ng questions kay Steffi, anong pinagsasasabi mo dyan? Kung meron man sinabotage, si Katrina yun dahil mas mahihirap ang binigay sa kanya conpared sa ibang girls

  13. My top 3 in this group are: Dimaranan, Bernos, and Santamaria

Overall my top 5 are: Dimaranan, Bernos, Yeboah, Velasquez, and Santamaria

    • At this point of the competetion, here is my latest ranking
      MUP: Dimaranan
      First runner up: Umali
      2nd runner up: Aberrasturri
      3rd runner-up: Velasquez
      4th runner-up: Wrobblewitz

    • Do you think that we should weigh heavily on this interview segment? Given last year’s edition and the ongoing support of Latino community, we may need a rep who is really prepared for the pageant in every aspect right?

  14. VVV and Bea will be savages if they enter the top 5. Steffi, Kat, Mau and Leren should be prepared if they will be standing next to them at the final 5.

    • Katrina and Maureen will be more than fine if they’re both pegged against Victoria and Bea.

Regarding Leren and Steffi, although these two ladies have been joining numerous beauty pageants, both still need to prep more on their Q&A skill set. They need to focus on having more depth and ending strong with their answers. This takes a lot of practice. However, at this time, Steffi is a bit better than Leren when it comes to interviews.

      • Wag ka na mag expect kay Leren Bautista. Sa tagal niya sa pageantry di man lang dinagdagan laman ng utak. Shunga parin. Sayang ang ganda niya natatakpan ng kabobohan niya.
