More than being a beauty queen, Miss Universe Colombia 2020 Laura Olascuaga is a journalist who works in the Communications Department of the Government in the state of Bolívar to aid in the development of vulnerable communities. She actually finished a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University del Norte in Barranquilla.
Being a freelance model is just a temporary phase in her life. One of her long-term ambitions is to become a Diplomat Ambassador for Colombia.
To say that knowledge is wealth may sound like a cliche, but Laura believes that it is the solution to many of the world’s conflicts.

If Laura wants to become an ambassador someday… That’s not an easy-straightforward thing, is it? For starters, there’s probably some sort of foreign service exam involved at some point. Ta’s, we realize now how much sophistication and leadership is required of one. After all, you are the ‘eyes and ears’ of your Commander-In-Chief in whichever territory you are sent and therefore you must be able to explain to her/him how developments in that place can affect foreign policy. She needs to hustle! ‘Di lang charity work ang ginagawa ng mga ambassador.

It’s either she’s not fluent or she’s hiding it and resserving it for the final closed doors interview…
Interesting note that Miss Laura Olascuaga was crowned by Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray from the Philippines. Let us see and wait what the beautiful and tall Colombian beauty queen will bring to the pageant. I am sure Miss Universe 2018 shared some tips how to succeed in the pageant.
