  5. I’m sure that Rabiya will win the fan-vote, BUT I’m also sure that she’ll make it through her own merit. I hope that Miss Universe will not disclose who the fan-vote winner among the Top 21 is since the haters will obviously use this against Rabiya (that she only placed because of fan votes).

    • @ Abcde OR, at least disclose the Tally AFTER the coronation, so we get an idea how fans voted BUT NOT DISCLOSE THE COUNTRY, halimbawa…

      1st place – Country X with 5,007,915
      2nd place – Country Y with 5,007,024
      3rd place – Country Z with 3,967,400

It may be interesting for MUO to do a post-Pageant analysis of the voting behavior, ie, block voting, if there were fans who voted for more than one candidate across multiple accounts and not necessarily their home country’s, and which countries voted LEAST*.

      * – If MUO wishes to apply the “weakest link” business model, this can help them identify growth areas/zones to focus on for at least the medium-term… Creditors will require a business plan.

  6. MU 2020- Jamaica
    1st RU- Peru
    2nd RU- Philippines
    3rd RU- Romania
    4th RU- South Africa

  7. This is my take. If Rabiya consistently zooms up to top as fan-vote favorite, but excels in her preliminary interview, swimsuit and evening presentation, then I think the organizer would instead love her to be announced in the deserving Top 20.

    That’s all.

  8. TOP 5 Iceland-Philippines-Cambodia-Chile-USA

    TOP 10 Nepal-Australia-Peru-S. Africa-India

    TOP 15 Romania-Mexico-Canada-Barbados-Venezuela

    TOP 20 Jamaica-Vietnam-Indonesia-Colombia-Thailand

  9. According to pep.ph, Rabiya is getting so far the most number of fan votes. Di ako bumoboto not because I don’t like her but because mas gusto ko tawagin sya as semi-finalist as one of the judges’ choices. I firmly believe she can make it based on her own merits. Go Rabiya…woohhh🇵🇭❤️❤️❤️

    • Same tayo. I hope hindi nila sasabihin kung sino yung fan-vote winner like 2012.

  10. ‘Aahhh… OK, now I remember. Curacao is Chantal Wiertz, no guys?

Magaganda tao diyan! Recall the MI 2017 1st Runner-up na early favorite din at the time? 🙂

Until eventually, yown! A mild laugh fest ensued onstage at the quite amusing scene.

    • (Cont.)

It may just be the advance of the years. I am weary of tragic stories and multi-hyphenates. I get the sense that maybe the American audience (who, after all, will be on the ground/on-site and will have first blood on the new queen) feels similarly. SIMILARLY. Perhaps they express this in a way we who have never been to America will never understand… 🙂

Americans don’t like, it seems, being lectured to. They don’t like being treated like or seen as a child. Well, they aren’t, of course.

I’ve only been to a literal handful of countries… I think Americans are similar, and gravitate to a select core group of travel options, which include France and Italy for example. I don’t think they bother with Canada, which is just next door…

I reckon, therefore, that it will be wise for MUO to crown someone whom the American audience will see something of themselves. AGAIN, THE ENTIRE POINT IS TO KEEP THE BRAND PRESTIGE IN HOME SOIL. THIS IS STILL AN AMERICAN BRAND (MUSA is its ‘little sister’) AND TO LAST MUST GET CORPORATE AMERICA’S APPROVAL.

    • @Flor, I think only one spot is given for a delegate with an East or South Asian extract. India and Australia will cancel each other out. My take.

    • I agree about Adline. She is very natural. No pretensions at all. She does not talk to impress and does not give lectures about life every time she speaks. She just talks with sense and conviction. Her beauty is something that grows in your eyes. She looks calm and collected. She seems to be very secured with her self. I wish Rabiya the best though.

  11. My top 3 bets for Africa & AP: Australia, India, S.Africa.
Good Luck Rabiya! Sana makapasok k kahit sa top 20.
Kung di ka man manalo sana sa Region na to ulit ang manalo. Lampasuhin niyo mga Latinas sa Florida. HAHAHAHA! 😀

  12. My Top 21 as of now, subject to change, as dictated by my fussy mind:

Africa/Asia Pacific: Philippines, Thailand, Cameroon, South Africa, Laos
Americas: Costa Rica, Curacao, Jamaica, Brazil, Chile
Europe: Russia, Romania, Ireland, Czech Republic, Malta
Wildcards: India, Colombia, Haiti, France, Portugal
    Fan Vote: Indonesia

    • Russian Barbie is a total BITCH!
Feel free to drop her from your list….

  13. I have a feeling that Miss Philippines will bring out her best in the pageant. She is gorgeous, extraordinaire speaker, talented and impressive height. Mabuhay ang Philippines.

  14. even though the fan base is tiny, the MUOrg should not ignore Europe especially this year with so many beautiful faces… Romania, Czech, Slovakia, Armenia, Russia & Poland (she sounds like a fighter), and maybe France as well & Italy

Asia Pacific Africa -Philippines (should be there)
    Americas -Curacao
    Europe -Romania

    POPULARITY -possibility from each group

    Asia Pacific Africa -Thailand
    Americas -Mexico
Europe -Portugal ( but I hope not … & most likely not )

  15. Tarot cards fr a clairvoyant said we will get the fan vote. 2 asians in top 5

    • Three. India, Nepal and the Philippines. Peru and Curacao completes the top 5.

  16. My favorites:
    Africa Asia Pacific – Nepal
    The Americas – Chile
    Europe – Romania

  17. Tough 5: Nepal, Thailand, Philippines, Peru and Venezuela.

It will be a Latina/Asiana domination!!!

  18. andaming pintas ke Rabiya… nakakalungkot minsan kapwa Pinoy pa eh… kunwari mga “constructive” ek ek eh…
pero think about it… parang andaling nathreaten ng iba sa kanya eh! wahahahahahahah!
months ago, lahat halos nilalagay si Thailand sa Top 5 or Top 3… Rabiya was like in their Top 10 or 15 lang eh… anlayo dati ng gap eh.

  19. Mukhang high school si Rabiya sa recent video nya showing her pasarela..

OOT. They say MUP 2021 will be appointed. If this is indeed true, I hope it’s Patch or Ahtisa.

  20. I think malakas laban natin. Hindi man manalo for sure nasa top three tayo. Philippines, India and Jamaica are my Top 3 right now. Medyo doubtful lang ako na ibibigay ulit satin yan, deserve naman ni Rabiya if ever, kaso baka maaccuse na ng political motivation MU nyan (kahit hindi naman haha) Jaimaca or India may overall package at safe choice rin for MUO

  21. I think Jamaica is one to watch out for overall. There’s a quiet confidence and easiness about her, very charming with an undeniable presence.

  22. My TOP 20 In random order:

    Philippines
    India
    Australia
    South Africa
    Thailand
    Indonesia
    Cambodia

    Jamaica
    Puerto Rico
    Chile
    Venezuela
    Peru
    Argentina
    USA
    Canada
    Brazil

    Romania
    Great Brittain
    Iceland
    Czech Republic

    • If there’s any bad attitude exhibited in the next few days… They could easily be replaced by the following:

      Curacao
      Mexico
      Colombia
      Costa Rica
      Nepal
      Barbados
      Ireland
      Malta
      China

  23. It is still a great number of MU candidates during this pandemic. While the continent grouping is extant in this post, the 69th edition of Miss Universe will remove the same in the announcement of the girls who shall make it on the Top 21. This is a wise decision considering the fact that Florida is a Latin-dominated state, and the crowd would love to see more Latinas in the first round. Otherwise, we will expect the Latin fans turn into a ballistic crowd.

As opposed to the MUO released statement, I think this batch is not composed of strong contenders. We cannot see the girls’ individuality from the get-go, and a few of them are making waves at this moment.

Thus, Rabiya need not convince us to pick her in the popularity vote. Her preparation will surely seal her fate in the Top 21. I kennat.

    That’s Entertainment, este, all.

  24. I have a feeling papasok si Thailand as Wild Card…..and hangang top 20 lang si Amanda.

  25. My gut instinct says Australia based purely on her understanding of the contemporary social landscape and her communication skills. My only concern is how she’ll fare in actual pageant, not a virtual one. But right now I’ll put money on Australia.
