  1. Juskoday ang tanders nag flashback!!!!!! Relate much ang mga lolabels with each other. Hahahaha…

  2. This episode is something new in Pageantry Norms. One notable woman who was recently crowned Mrs Universe- Makati is Jerone Olorocissimo. She had been in my wishlist before to join Binibini or Mutya.

    • Serge it seems you are very familiar with Gerone Olorocisimo, Tweety de Leon’s first runner up in 1987 Supermodel of the World-Philippines. Remember her because I was (already) in my freshman year in high school. Gerone was very modelesque during her prime time and petite (for a ramp model). I am not sure as well of her communication skills. I think she is not really a beauty queen type.

      • @paul.I am far older than her. He he. Yes, Jerone was an A-list fashion and commercial model from late 80’s to late 90’s. Tweety, Jerone, and Patricia Panlilio were neck at neck during the very first edition of Supermodel-Phils.

      • @ paul Maayo’ng aga, Dude.

Jenny Manuel, the 2nd RU, was TALL, no? I saw a YouTube video of the Finals Ceremony. Very simple Press Conference essentially where the placements were announced. I think it was Jojo Zabarte that hosted, took out the fax from no less than Eileen Ford (daw), and read out the agency’s decision. Jenny towered over both Tweetie and Gerone.

(I wonder now if it was Anne Klein that picked her out, paving the way for the dusky de Leon to represent us. Ganu’n ba ‘pag modelling pageant? If the corporate clients spot one they like, they ask the agency, Ford in this case, to “send her over”?)

It’s like if the sponsors like you then you have a good chance of winning….

      • Maayong aga Flor. Correct ka gid Flor. Jenny Manuel was very tall. Both Tweety and Gerone were NOt tall enough for the international competition. You have to be at least 5’9″ in height to be competitive in the modelling world.

Serge you are so 80s and 90s as well. So you are also very familiar with Carines Zaragoza, Bong Dimayakyak, Lorna Legaspi (all Asia/Pacific winners) and PH supermodel titleholders such as Marilen Espino, Adele Go, Abby Arenas, Lorena Pangan. He, he, he…

    • @flor. I would just like to share an info regarding Supermodel Phils 1987
Out of close to a hundred of girls who screened, 23 semifinalists were chosen to compete in a glittering ceremony at Manila Hotel where they were trimmed down to 8. The announcement of winners were anticlimactic. He he. It was held in a separate date and venue with less fanfare. He he.

      • @ serge ‘Yun nga ‘yun’g tinatanong ko. Kasi, if you notice, when it comes to modelling pageants, apparently may Deliberations pa. Just like ANTM… How important is the say of sponsors? Kasi, look at Milagros Flores. She became Crest toothpaste’s face, as Best Smile citation recipient.

      • That I a.m not sure Flor. Though in the succeeding years, winners had been announced during the Finals marked with elaborate ceremonies. there had been No hint nor sign whatsoever That Eileen Ford had the Final say in deciding the winner.

  3. Everything in Miss Eco International is scaled-down – from national costumes, gowns, videography to production designs (stage, lighting, digital graphics, etc.). Hangin lang ang medyo malakas. He, he, he… Good morning to all.

  4. Chat commenters recommended other names for MEI such as Miss Air International, Miss Earth Air and Miss Extra Challenge, etc.

    congrats kelly day night

He, he, he…

  7. Preliminary Notes on Miss Eco International National Costume Competition

He, he, he… Most if not all of the Latinas presented scaled-down national costumes.

Panalo ang Philippines. Runners up sina Panama at Thailand. She wore a red Maria Clara inspired (with panuelo) national with very wide outer skirt/train. Panama in the (usual) carnival (huge feather back prop) inspired piece. And Thailand in an ANIMAL inspired outfit. He, he, he…

I also like the national costumes of Misses Indonesia, Malaysia & Korea.

The overall MEI NC presentation was simple (a bit boring) and windy (outdoor location).

  8. Si Kelley Day ang nanalong Best Costume sa Miss Eco International. Nagsimula nang umariba si Inday.
