Behold your #Binibini28 Francesca Taruc of Angeles City, Pampanga in her Bb. Pilipinas National Costume created by Rich Sabinian:
Aptly named La Luz Dela Paz, this national costume reflects the light of peace in the midst of the current global darkness.
This light of peace is represented by a traditional Christmas symbol in Angeles City – the distinct Parul Angeles (Angeles lantern), which forms the base of the costume.
Characterized by its simplicity yet intricacy in design, this local lantern traces its origin in the century-old tradition of Lubenas ning Pasku, the culmination of a nine-day prayer vigil leading to the Christmas day.
This is the same symbolic light that guided the local farmers in attending the mass at dawn before proceeding to their field works. This tradition extended to the present generation as “Simbang Gabi”.
One symbolic intention of this lantern procession, the fish, which represents prosperity, is depicted by the lamae fabric details that resemble the fish scales.
This masterpiece aspires to bring hope and prosperity as the world anticipates for the most wonderful time of year despite this health crisis.

Is she atop an Altar shaped like the tip of a Volcano?
very beautiful. she looks so elegant and divine.
Designers NEED to do something fast. Our “Catholicism-pegged” NatCos always look medieval.

M-O-D-E-R-N-I-Z-E. I don’t like this at all. I’m disappointed because I had high expectations when it came to Taruc… But I like Czarina Guiao’s. Very “anime”.
Buti pa ito walang usok
