2020 is the year that could have started on a promising note. After all, the order of these digits combined is like an indication of crystal-clear vision – or optimism if you will.
Instead, what the Philippines experienced as early as January were natural calamities and unpleasant news items on the forefront. And this went on until COVID19 struck in Wuhan – initially as a scare that swiftly transformed into a pandemic of worldwide proportions. And then life in the old normal stopped. Our lives were never the same again after that.
The lockdown/quarantine months followed. It tested the discipline, will power and mental strength of everyone. Up until now, the virus continues to wreak havoc everywhere. 2020 would be sadly looked at as “The Year of Dying Unceremoniously”. This is the time when we have lost count of the number of deep condolences uttered/written to those whose loved ones have started falling one by one. Truly the tearjerker of a year.
And so, I have no qualms leaving 2020 behind. The minute the clock strikes midnight, January 1, 2021 will be welcomed with unbridled joy. There is no other way but to look forward to a new chapter in life filled with hope and dreams that would propel us back to what a happy normal existence should look and feel like.
#HappyNewYear to all!
May 2021 be the start of something good. We have started picking up the pieces of whatever is left to stand up and move on. Shattered lives or not, we have survived. And we will continue to wave the flag of a triumphant spirit from hereon now.
“Goodbye 2020” is a firecracker? 🙂
I just heard what sounded like “crying cow” with asthma… LOLZ.
(Pati mga paputok, na-pandemya. Next year, SARS-Cov1/Covid18 na lang, kasi ma-da-downgrade na siya. Ten minutes na lang. Nauna na Auckland at Sydney…)
Happy Bday Tito N. Keep that radiant smile in your face like someone from the pacific island make you happy at all times.
Tito Norman and everyone, Happy New Year po!
I would like to “forget” 2021.
I mean, I would like to forget 2020 po, sorry.

(Parang this past week lang nagsimula’ng mag-snow sa Milano… But of course, sa Scandinavia magsawa ka sa nieve’t hielo. Btw, will you serve as online jurado for MK 2020, po?)
Flor ano naman ang new year’s resolutions and prospects/plans mo for 2021?
@ paul My priority for 2021 is to make a sharp cut in my socmed activity. It’s quite tiring, tbh.
(I think I saw a teaser on Cat’s #RaiseYourFlag episode for Zamboanga… But haven’t seen it… So, does MU 2018 enjoy the role of Buy-local-Ambassador-at-large?)
IT’S NOT WORTH IT TO VISIT PRAGUE DURING WINTER TIME !!! IT IS SOOO COLD !
3 PM GABI NA , SUMMER IS STILL THE BEST TIME TO BE THERE, I REMEMBER, I TOOK A BUS, I WAS ALREADY IN GERMANY.
I agree. Reason why we decided to go there last May, 2019.
Volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, typhoons, floods, landslides, this virulent pandemic– and the devastating fallout on our personal, social and economic life! The year 2020 seems to have squeezed out every ounce of the fabled Filipino resiliency. If there is something this pandemic taught humanity, it is the value of human life, and how interconnected we all are in this universe. As we look forward to another year, I wish all of us learned the lessons 2020 leaves us: that life is precious and beautiful and we should celebrate it daily. A blessed 2021 to everyone in the pageant community!
Lest we forget: in the epicenter of the world’s pandemic and calamities imaginable, the Philippines showed the world that the celebration of beauty continues despite the formidable odds. Leveraging on IT technology and a great dose of innovation, creativity and determination, ME and MUP kept pageantry pulsate with life by trailblazing on the unchartered waters of online pageantry! And blogs and vlogs kept the home-quarantined pageant community informed and entertained, and I must say, kept its sanity intact (despite sporadic bursts of negativities and toxicity by some commenters). On this alone, the Philippine pageantry community showed the world that in this side of the planet indeed, pandemics come and go but the celebration of beauty stays forever!
Scorg happy & prosperous new year to you! Just want to ask if you have watched the #raiseyourflag Zamboanga vlog by our very own Catriona Gray on YT? Thanks.
Paul, Happy NewYear! I am in Manila supposedly for my much-delayed VL, but turning out to be a WFH routine. I need to travel back to my workplace abroad on the 1st week of January. No, I did not/ could not, watch he Zamboanga vlog by Cat you mentioned. Too busy on my WFH duties. It’s ironic that I did not miss anything– the malls, the shows, the shopping, the church services, the parties, the outside eat-outs– because there were hardly any. I was simply holed inside my condo, glued to Zoom most of the times. Outside it feels like Good Friday. I hope the New Year will be a New Easter for all of us.
@ scorg ‘Ay, nako! Magkita kayo ni Blogger bago ka bumalik sa Africa. Ta’s, you two record a future PN’s episode… Interview each other. Topic will be, “Norman Tinio’s Followers’ Profile”. 🙂
Why not?
