Congratulations!

  2. With Scorg, Ana Winter-Lund, Madame X (the latest), and others posting their positive and encouraging comments for Michelle Gumabao, ayaw na tuloy mag-post ni Flor (Alaiza’s srdent follower) and Fabian Reyes (die hard Ysabella Ysmael fan) in this blog entry on MG. He, he, he…

  3. The New Beautiful that recent MUSA winners embody has the fit, toned, healthy and muscular physique. It is not far-fetched for MU to embrace this new beauty paradigm. Wrap-around to this physique the following credentials: motivational speaker, sports commentator, top athlete, grassproots sports development advocate, and holder of BS degree in Marketing Management. The result: a perfect package for MU, a perfect spokesperson in this pandemic-weary universe! Phenomenal!

He, he, he…

  5. A few more thoughts on why I have decided to support Michele as MUP 2020…

    1. We all know that pageantry is heading in a more progressive direction because popular culture has come under the scrutiny of political correctness. It started when Miss World relegated the wearing of swimsuits to the beach (not onstage) in 2013; followed by Miss America removing the swimsuit competition in 2018; and, finally, in 2019, with Miss Universe adding more speaking segments to the finals, wherein, interestingly, a Miss America sat on the board of judges. What does this all mean? Physical beauty cannot be the main basis in selecting a winner. What’s more, I am certain that these progressive trends will be ACCELERATED because of the global pandemic, which is making society question the relevancy of so many industries.

    2. Lu Sierra has said again and again in interviews that the Miss Universe Organisation is not looking for a model, but for a speaker. “BUT CAN SHE TALK?” is the question she kept asking in interviews with various pageant media in last year’s Miss Universe.

    3. On the issue of popularity, commerciality, and money. If this is the issue, because, yes, the new franchise owner will need to make money off its new queen, then Michele is the runaway winner as she is a celebrity in her own right and holder of 500k Instagram followers. That is bound to increase by a lot if she wins.

    4. If Michele is number one for me, who are following behind? Pauline Amelinckx and Bella Ysmael. Pauline also fits the bill, she speaks clearly, with good word usage that get her points across. It’s just that between Michele and her, the former has a stronger stage presence and has the experience of competing in an international pageant. Bella, on the other hand, can be a Frederika Alexis Cull-type: pretty young thing, no prior major pageant experience, on the shorter side, comes from a well-to-do family, etc. But, when I listen to her, yes, she speaks well, but there doesn’t seem to be much depth, and she has the habit of using “personally” as a verbal crutch (very distracting!).

So my top 3 for now:
    1. Michele
    2. Pauline
    —————————
    3. Bella

    • EXCELLENT COMMENTARY MADAME X. You POSTED the 50th. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. See Norman we have already reached the 50 posting mark for Michelle. Congratulations!

  6. Salamat sa mga sumusuporta kay Michelle. Patuloy natin siyang suportahan hanggang sa makuha niya ang MUP title this year.

He, he, he…

  8. Aside from working hard on having a competitive physique, I think Michelle should also give time and attention in understanding current affairs, both global and local, that are affecting the populace such as pandemic control, health protocols, economic concerns, etc. This will enable her to be more prepared in the Q&A rounds of the competition as well with public interviews.

  9. Mr. Blogger PLEASE TELL Michelle that I am one of her BIGGEST fans in Mindanao. Maraming salamat Norman. Magandang gabi sa lahat.

  10. Aside from working very hard to have that sexy figure, I think Michelle should also give time and attention in understanding current global concerns and local affairs affecting the populace. This will arm her not just in the Q&A portions of the competition but as well as in public interviews.

Michelle Gumabao, 27/28, Philippines!

  12. After withholding my opinion for some time, choosing instead to read others’, as well as see more video interviews and photoshoots from the girls; I can now safely say that Michele Gumabao should be MUP 2020. The reason why is simple: rewatch Miss Universe 2019, where the girls have to speak five times on finals night, and you will see that Michele is the only candidate that can excel in such a scenario. Her being a motivational speaker and sports commentator comprise the life experience that is PRECISELY needed to do well in the new era of Miss Universe. What I love about her at the moment is that she is carrying herself like a winner. She knows she is a frontrunner and is carrying that mantle with confidence.

    • CORRECT na CORRECT ka Madame X. Excellent points/arguments for non-believers of Michelle Gumabao.

  13. See Norman Michelle is really getting the interest of the pageant fans. Not even the very sexy Alaiza Malinao can compete with our heavygat Michelle with the number of (positive and encouraging) postings.

    • @Paul, as you we’re asking for my opinion in your thread below, I already did, even though I’m in the midst of our company’s strategic planning workshop. Got to sneak out time time to comment. Got to be real. He he.

      • Thanks Scorg for sharing your precious time. Mabuti ka pa busy attending your company’s strategic planning workshop even in the time of pandemic. He, he, he…

      • @Paul, lockdown restrictions have been eased here since June, although social distancing and wearing of masks are strictly observed in public places and even inside the office.

Ang nag cocomment palagi dito are almost the same people such as you, unorthodox, Flor Tula, Serge, Fabian haha!

  14. Michelle has big body frame because she has naturally huge bone structure and She is also athletic. That is why it is difficult for her to transition from having a musculine body type to that of a feminine/queenly body type. I think it’s a matter of proper exercise and diet modification. Curvy and slightly muscular women are in fact sexy and that is what i see in her in the above pictures. I understand she has the tendency to slouch which is unqueenly because that is what professional volleyball player is used to but because she is joining a beauty contest, she has to make a conscious effort to maintain a queenly posture(standing and sitting straight where the rear portion of the head must be at the level of the rear portion of the buttocks if a vertical line is drawn from occiput to heel). Pasarela is another important aspect but i know her team is working on it.

  15. From the pictures, I think Michele’s physique is just right for the MU competition. Aa a University of Missouri study has noted, MUSA whose winners have become more muscular in recent years and this is a reflection of the emerging paradigm shift on beauty— towards a fit, toned, muscular and healthy look. The shift in perception on beauty ideals coincides with an increasing number of women discovering the benefits of weight-training in the gym, “fitspiration” Instagram accounts and #strongnotskinny trending on social media. I think as a Marketing Management graduate, Michele knows that in this new paradigm, she competes only against herself. All others are competing tooth and nail in an overcrowded space in the old paradigm. What’s interesting is that she doesn’t have to be a person different from what she really is—a top athlete. I think MU is now ready to present to the world the New Beautiful, and Michele is just the perfect package for that.

  16. KUNG KAY PAULINE AY JAWLINE GALORE, KAY MICHELLE NAMAN AY UNDER ARM DODGE AND BURN PA MORE. ERASE ERASE ANG LINES AND PORES. NG KILI KILI PARANG NILIHA LOL ! KALOKAH ANG MGA RETOUCHERS GINAGAWANG ALIEN ANG MGA MERLIE

    • Paquita X – ANG TAONG GALIT NA GALIT sa mga NAPAKAHUSAY sa PHOTOSHOP. Ha, ha, ha…

  17. Photos are deceiving, I want to see her in motion , to see is to believe !!! Wala namang ganyang armpit!!! Kalokah wala ng pores !!!

    • Why not?… have you seen the Miss USAs of the past decade?… the skinniest girl is a soldier… half of them has slightly thick athletic built…and I believe Michele can achieve a body like Irene Esser who I think has the healthiest body among Miss Vs of the decade… and she should be styled like her as well.

  20. What separates Michele from the rest of the candidates is her cosmopolitan beauty. That makes her a standout. The confidence built up in her self radiates when she is on stage, something that gives her more edge and chance towards becoming the first MUP and bespoke for the tag–Confidently Beautiful.

With the photos above-presented, I’d say she hasn’t lost a good amount of sweats to be called bodily ready. Well, that’s my view and I am speaking based on the beauty pageant standards wherein the chosen winners in a handful of beauty searches remain to be va-va-voomish. No doubt she can make it in the top 10 for the swimsuit round of the MU pageant if she were to parade in that physique, that is precisely because Miss Universe is inclusive and promotes diversity, but she cannot easily pullout an awesome victory against Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil and other Latinas with naturally gifted whistle bait figures.

Don’t get me wrong. I am not Michele’s basher, but someone who critiques because I believe she can do better. I am always honest in giving my opinion and methinks that my view is that of the majority of pageant aficionados. I like Michele very much and I have been vocal that I prefer her to win the MUP title. It’s just that, of late, she seems so complacent.

    That’s all.

    • I kinda agree with you on the whistle-bait body requirement…

But Michelle is giving me hope that she can actually gain that hourglass figure through heavy butt work-outs and “waist”-trainning without the allegedly invasive rib removal.

If she could achieve it the more natural way then nothing could stop her from reaching the top5 of MU.

      • That’s the spirit, C2F!

What if we join forces to push Michele to strive more and achieve that hour-glass figure?! I think Michele needs pressure from us, her fans, so she can triplicate her effort and be the Philippine representative we wish her to be.

I am not losing hope. I think we need the Harry Roque positivity amidst the backlashes this government is getting.

        That’s all.

Fact is Michele is the social media darling amongst all the MUP candidates because a lot of netizens have their pulses on her.

        That’s all.

    • @ Ana I agree that she doesnt seem to have lost that much body weight yet based on these photos, BUT the girl seems to be improving on her projection and packaging. Yun lang naman talaga yan, kahit di ka masyado gifted sa body proportions as long as you know your angles and how to package yourself pasok na pasok pa rin sa banga. Catriona has a very assymetric body but she knows how to work her body really well. Even Madison’s (MU 2019 1st RU) unrealistic S lines are heavily due to her knowledge of her best angles and body twisting, and less on her actual body proportions.

What I like the most with this latest shoot is that Michele and her glam team seem to be on the right path when it comes to her make up and styling. So I’m really happy that they seem to have found the right direction to make her face look softer and more feminine. Sana magtuloy tuloy pa yung improvements on her styling.

      • Unorthy!!!

You are on point. Michele’s styling is now on a heartbeat, and I’d also like to commend her glam team on that.

I also agree with you that good body frames have their chosen angles, especially if the body frame owner is projecting in front of the still cameras. However, pageant fans can very well see all angles of the pageant girl’s body when she is walking and strutting on stage. Thus, unpleasant poses can be explicit in her, which would appall the audience near her.

“Im Michele’s biggest fan, pero sa totoo lang mas kabado ako sa fez nya kesa sa body nya.” With all due respect, I find Michele’s face universally acceptable. In fact, her facial bone structure is comparably that of Alicia Machado’s. In contrast to those who say her face can easily be unrecognized if she were standing side by side other Asian beauties, Michele seems to be a chameleon. She is definitely not an average Asian beauty, and you can find in her the Latina cum Eurasian features you hardly noticed at Cat or Gaz.

        That’s all.

      • Oh, wow! I salute Michele kung ganun, Tito Norms. I think her fans come from all walks of life. There are those who are respectable corporate belles, me included, who’d spend time to give profound critiques here on your blog kase this is where we spend our slow down moments as we escape corporate shenanigans. After all, masaya ang mundo ng beauty pageants.

        Pa-notice ako, Michele.

        That’s all.

      • @Tito Norman OMG thank your for relaying our thoughts and opinions to Michele. Sana she finds them really helpful

@Ana Hi Mare! Miss you! Haha parang tagal natin di nag usap. Anyway, just to expound on my comment re: my kaba on Michele’s face. Let’s face it, the face draws more attention (say 80%) compared to the body. And in this modern age of body-positivity, less na talaga ang emphasis on the “perfect” body proportions. That’s why I’m more critical with Michele’s face. For me kasi, Michele’s face is the type that can easily be messed up with make up. On many instances that she has none, or barely there make up, I found her to be more gorgeous and appealing than when she’s heavily made up. I think also because Michele’s cheekbones are prominent alongside having very prominent jawline that she looks a bit masculine on certain stylings. Im not really an expert on make up but I think the key is for her to choose which one to highlight. In this shoot I think they featured her jawline more than her cheekbones. This is also what they did with her Elsa inspired photoshoot just recently and on both shoots they were successful in softening her features.

      • I miss you too, unorthy mars. Kumusta ang buhay-buhay, ang lovelife? I hope you are safe always.

Anyway, on point ang worries mo mars. Minsan hindi nahi-hit ng tama ang make up ni Michele. The best make up nya yung headshot nya sa MUP.

        That’s all.

Charing hahaha pero at this time mahirap talaga magkeep up ng lovelife dahil mas marami pang dapat iprioritize

Agree. Best nya yung sa headshot. Tho i feel like medyo heavy pa rin yung photo editing dun. At least with these swimsuit shots parang less yung editing sa fez kaya pakak na pakak talaga styling nya now

May make up na binabagayan si Michele talaga. Since maganda na s’ya, dapat ang make up n’ya eh mild lang.

        That’s all.

    • @Ana I agree that she doesn’t seem to have lost that much body weight yet based on these photos, BUT the girl seems to be improving on her projection and packaging. Yun lang naman talaga yan, kahit di ka masyado gifted sa body proportions as long as you know your angles and how to package yourself pasok na pasok pa rin sa banga. 21. MUP- Gumabao
    First runner-up-Amelincx
    2nd runner-up- Ysmael
    3rd runner-up- Malinao
    4th runner-up-Smith

    • Your ranking my dear is VERY GOOD. Michelle will be our first Miss Universe Philippines winner. Pauline and Ysabella will go to MWP next year for the Miss Eco Philippines and Miss World Philippines titles, respectively. Alaiza and Apriel should move on to Cory Quirino’s Mutya Pilipinas for the modelling titles she offers to the girls.

  22. I have a strong feeling n it’s either her or Pauline C. Amelinckx… mas maraming pasabog n katawan kaysa sa kanilang dalawa pero i realized… Pia and Catriona- napintasan din sila ng todo during their times pero… WINNER.

Past na yung in red swimsuit. This is the present one. And the coming… va-va-voom body. Wait lang Flor ha. Comment na Scorg for our Michelle Gumabao. He, he, he…

  24. Yaaasssss gawwwd… WOW!!!
    Lumalaban!!?! I AM LIVIIIINNN!!!!!
More fat-toning/Lipo-cavitation on the arms, waist and knees for a more feminine hourglass figure & she is good to go! If she struts with a killer walk on the finals then the cat is definitely in the bag! She could actually win this! I WANT BLOOD ON THE RUNWAY!!!
    GO MICHELE!!! SLAY THEM ALL!!!!!
    😄😄😄😄😄❤❤❤❤
