Coming from and representing General Santos City in Miss Universe Philippines 2020, Mariel Joyce Pascua is taking on a relatively more holistic approach for her intended cause in the competition.
She is filled with so much joy being part of her first national pageant after Reyna ng Aliwan 2010, and a big one at that.
Her advocacy is the #NextIsMe Movement or “Championing the Champions’ Heart” which fosters on the total being of the youth and effecting change to the society. She also conquers overwhelming obstacles, self doubts and pressure from standards and expectations through self management and multiple voices through inspiring women in action (aspiring beauty queens). The legacy is achieving a confidently beautiful self for others, as she also facilitates the Kalinaw Support group.
“I’ve been volunteering for the Youth of Sockssargen. I’m also part of Kidlikasan – a pro environment youth group creating solutions to have more youth interested in environmentalism. Supporting the Act of Love (NGO who support neighboring barangays in providing relief by extending food necessisties) and we also made hug from a distant campaign.”
How has she been during the nationwide quarantine period?
“During this quaratine period, I’m living a normal life and spending time with my family, friends and also constantly talking to my MUPH sisters. I worked as a flight attendant following a hectic schedule. This long rest gave me the time to catch up with my family. I also try online Tesda classes and workout (do some yoga, cardio and meditation) for mental & physical health.”
Her official MUP photo is a breath of fresh air.
I love it.
She’s the only one wearing a full smile 🙂
@ Fabian Reyes See. SSL is from General Santos City. She is not Manila girl. 🙂
Mr. Tinio, LIKEY her! She RADIATES WARMTH. Like the bubbly-optimistic candidate of Rizal.
I will have to remember to include her in my 15-Cut (extension)/First Cut. All that joy is contagious.
“Kidlikasan” sounds like fun. You have a link you can share with us, Blogger Master?
Mindanao is KILLING with STRONG reps like Mariel Joyce, Alaiza, We’Am, & (my) Caroline. Hopefully by MUP 2021, we can have AP’s for ZamPen and ARMM. Btw, guys, Sunday coming is Eid’ Al-Fitr, right? “Hari Raya Poasa”, my Malaysian FB fren greeted me today. They report being “now in control” of their SARS-Cov-2 situation. The hope is that the weekend surge of families to the provinces, and back to the capitals after, will not provoke a second wave. All the best to them!
As I said people from the Tagalog area – both south and north – are the worst English speakers in the Philippines .
