Miss Universe Philippines 2020 candidate Mari Danica Reynes of Cagayan Province has been singing almost all her life. I wouldn’t even be surprised if her first cry at birth sounded close to being melodious. Hence, from then till now, music has always been close to her heart. It has a calming quality that alleviates depression and reduces stress. What’s more, listening to it is beneficial to our mental health. Especially now in this time of pandemic, we need something to uplift our spirits. Music heals.
Danica wants to promote this, especially to the younger generation. If they focus in honing their talents or skills, be it music or other arts, it will help them turn away from the bad influences in life.
“In this time of quarantine, I made sure to be still productive and be of help in my own little way. I initiated an online fundraiser for my friend and his colleagues who are all medical frontliners. The funds will be used to provide them with PPE as they are in dire need of it – gogetfunding.com/loveinthetimeofcorona
I have been practicing yoga which is great for physical and mental health. Also I’m fond of languages because of my travels. I’m learning Italian recently. And I have been editing my travel vlogs as well, hoping it would somehow spark positivity amidst the tragic news we hear daily.
I also did a video collaboration with other music artists in singing Heal the World”
Danica’s natural talent in singing is a great source of her advocacy in the healing power of music. And the authenticity has been in place for many years now, both as a professional vocalist and a pageant candidate.
Good luck to you, the Pride of Cagayan Province!
