  1. Somebody commented, “I find that some of our Miss Universe delegates between 2000 and 2010 were not any less gorgeous …” Well, Carla Balingit, Zoraida Andam, Karen Loren Agustin, Ana Teresa Licaros, Gionna Cabrera … kahit na sina Bianca Manalo, Venus Raj, Janine Tugonon and Shamcey Supsup, di naman talaga super gorgeous. Most of them nanalo sa local selection dahil lang sa Q&A. Ang mga MU photogenic winners naman natin ay nanalo dahil sa public voting kung saan napakagaling ang mga Pinoy fans, with the exception, of course, of Lia Ramos na talaga namang napakaganda sa kanyang mga photos. Maricar’s win was also controversial as she was reportedly the favored one even before the pageant finals. Meanwhile, foreign bloggers/vloggers point to Gazini as having the most beautiful face among our MU delegates in the last 20 years.

  2. If only nakapasok si Nina Ricci Alagao sa top 10, siya lang ang pwedeng makalaban ni Lara Dutta sa Q & A. And I, THANK YOU!!

  3. I think this is one of the editions they gave more weight to Q&A even if they are not facially beautiful.

  4. oh gosh what would have happened if Martina Thorogood competed in this edition? I wonder who will come on top between Lara and Martina

  5. Nasayangan aq kay Nina Ricci Alagao. She’s facially better than 1/2 of the semi finalists (Canada?). Of course, I am saying this not knowing how she performed sa preliminaries (not enough, obviously).

Lara was so regal, from beginning to end. Bangs pa-more, Spain and Venezuela 🙂

  6. Winning both MU and MW crowns in the same year is something. But doing it twice, just wow!

    • Technically, it’s India only. But if we were to look at the year the winners won their national crowns, Venezuela did it first. 1981 and 1995. Nagkataon lang na magkaibang taon nag-compete internationally ang MV 1995 winners.

  7. Most of the CEO’s around the world are Indians!

They also have the most scientist!

And yung manner of talking nila beaming with confidence, again, kahit muntanga pinagsasabi!

  8. I think she’s the ultimate MU queen. That beauty and sophistication would’ve earned her the crown in any era.

  9. Indi is another pageant superpower
In no time , this country will agin emerge on top . As most pageants are now giving emphasis on comm skills We will again this country on the pageant page. Indians are probably among the smartest and most articulate people in the world.

    • @ Fabian Reyes Yep. Vartika Singh’s placement last year at MU is telling….

And sartorially speaking, they will not be wanting when it comes to wardrobe-styling. Also, their Bollywood industry is an almost-guarantee that any international pageant victory will amount to something. In other words, there is incentive.

Mr. Tinio, can you do a patch-up with Dr. Tejaswini Manogna for a normannorman.com exclusive?

  10. Aphrodite, Persephone, and Adonis were a love triangle.

Dear commentators, adorn your abode with statues of Aphrodite, the Buddha, and the Virgin Mary to eternally guard you. They bestow beauty, wisdom, and love, respectively. From Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel’s apartment at 31 Rue Cambon.

Btw, Blogger, how is Gabrielle “Camille” Basiano doing, po? What’s she up to? When do we get a BBP 2020 post, Sir? 🙂

Patraporn Wang probably wished she could be Lara Dutta 2.0…..

1999 going into 2000 was all about the Y2K bug, which fizzled out eventually.
