I’m sorry but this has got to be the most self-congratulatory ‘relinquishment’ press statement, with an undercurrent of defensive bitterness, that I have ever read, LOL! Bye Stella, Conchitina and Betsy!
And I didn’t even realize they had bragging rights to a ‘Miss ASEAN’ win (ooooh…) until this press statement came out, 😂
When I think of the evening gowns and national costumes our Miss Universe candidates were forced to wear because Stella insisted Barraza design all of them (compare MJ’s gown with Paulina’s) haaayyy nag-iinit talaga ang ulo ko! She may have married a Filipino and may have lived in Manila for many years but clearly, Colombiana pa rin siya and will always put her mother country’s best interests closer. It took Pia’s victory to change the status quo.
if i was gazini’s handlers and knowing the calibre of the other girls who are shoo ins in the finals, i would have asked gazini to say her piece in the most simplest and fun way just like what france did. you clearly cant compete with SA and Puteri Rico during their opening statements. So you dribble that round just to get past it 🙂
Sa una lang naman magiging issue or malaking balita ito sa mga Pinoy pageant fans pero sa paglipas ng panahon mamamatay din ang issue ng kusa. Look at Miss World Phils, dati naman under sya ng BPCI pero they’re both getting stronger inspite of separation.
Going back to MUP, pwede na syang gawin sa MOA Arena unlike before na lagi na lang sa Smart Araneta where the hosts were looking up to read their spiels from prompter.
It’s a bittersweet feeling for me. ewan ko kahit urat na urat ako noon sa mga kaganapan sa bpci para sa mga MUP natin.. aminin natin, they did everything to please us and look naman kung ano nang meron tayo simula nung kay Pia. they did everything to reinvent and give us what the queens deserve.
pero parang nakakalungkot na mawawala sakanila. but then again, changes are everywhere and hindi talaga natin mapipigilan yon.
I know BBP will never be the same anymore but i hope they still get the support we’ve given to them nung nasa kanila pa ang MUP franchise. Ako I’ll still support them. they’ll still remain the most prestigious national pageant alongside with the new MUP. aminin natin yan, kahit International na lang ang highest ni BPCI, lamang pa din sila kay MEP and MWP.
feeling ko may nanligaw sa MUO na kuhanin ang franchise at wag i renew kay BPCI. sorry hahaha di ko mapigilang mag isip kasi bakit biglang ayaw na i renew kay BPCI..

Mabuhay ka SMA and the BPCI organization!!! You know kahit nagwarla at protesta ang sankaveklaan during parts of your reign and your ultraconservative rules, you kept the pageant world alive in the Philippines and sent beauty queens who are winners.

Parang “hostile takeover” ang nangyari sa franchise! I’m in for a change! Seguraduhin lang nila Jonas na mapapantayan kung hindi mahihigitan yung performance ng BPCI dahil kapag naputol ang streak ng Filipinas diyan sa MU, katakot-takot na mura aabutin nila sa mga fans!
Meron akong napanood na video sa FB, nung in-announce yung last spot sa Top 10 at hindi para sa Filipinas, naglayasan yung mga estudyante sa live stream sa escuelahan! As in puro upuan talaga naiwan! Joke naman ng isang news org, NBA daw ng mga bakla ang MU kaya maiinit ang ulo nung natalo si Gazini kaya huwag daw muna magpunta sa parlor! As in ganyan ka-serioso mga Pinoy sa pageantry kaya sana huwag laruin nila Jonas yung franchise !

Through all these happenings, i may conclude that Gaz not winning the 2019 Miss U edition was predetermined. Just come to think of it, should Gaz win, the transfer from Bb Pilipinas to MUO might be put into halt again, just like what happened last year when Cat won and when Chavit said that MUO was no longer under Madame. U have to understand, that when a country wins Miss U, this country will be exempt from paying the yearly contribution for the next year’s edition. So if Gaz had won, Bb Pilipinas would never have to pay Miss U for franchise next year, which in turn it would result into postponing the transfer from Bb to MUO again. Tsk2x. Maybe, Miss U just waited for Cat’s reign to be over to avoid breach of contract. MUP and MUP waited for Gaz not to win, so that the transfer from Bb to MUP will be smooth…… I feel so sorry for Gaz because i feel she was just being used as a puppet in this situation, and she was not given an equal chance or teatment to compete…Also, bb pilipinas should have never sent Gaz in thr first place, knowing that Miss U would never allow bb pilipinas to renew its contract with them.. Coz to tell u honestly, it might really hurt Gaz chances competing, knowing that there are under the table talks…sus, yung pahelp help pala nila A&Q might be judas kiss already….. . Huhuhu….. Politics at its finest…….although i like A&Q, i do not condone this allegedly traitor acts from A&Q people.

But I guess you can read between the lines already based on this Bb Pilipinas letter and the chronology of events that there are some sort of misunderstanding from BB Pilipinas part towards MUO’s decision…… Honestly, if I were on Madame’s part and knew absolutely about the transfer right after Miss U 2019, I wouldn’t have sent Gazini even if Bb was exempted last year for the Miss U contribution coz of Cat’s win. Coz, it would be unfair for Gaz for her standing in the competition would be affected by politics. I heard somewhere, alegedly that they hired Pia as a host to Miss U as a pa-konswelo to Filipinos. Since Pia couldn’t attend due to prior commitments, they hired Olivia Culpo and i heard allegedly that Org decided to extend Cat’s air time or exposure to appease the Filipinos, aside from letting her win the national costume…. 😁😁😁😢….. I do have a hunch all these time filipinos who were behind the transfer from bb to mup, knew Gaz’s small chances of win in the competition already: and Madame did not…Madame might have thought that she has still has the ball on her side, given the years of partnership she had with the org … ….. I just do hope MUP will continue the legacy. And I am confident in 2020, we will have Miss U again, if not a runner up

MUP will probably be more Top Model or even reality like. Look at Singapore’s mold that Jonas creates. Very road to and get to know. Mexico does the same now and it is not as exciting a format.
She might not have WON but she could have gone FARTHER! Undeniably she is beautiful and dubbed as the FACE OF MISS UNIVERSE. Her communication skill has improved a lot. Performance wise she is far better than France and Indonesia! Judging was subjective and unfortunately the stars did not align for her. Better remove her from the top 10 early kasi pag pinakawalan mo siya sa rampahan, they can never manipulate the outcome! Lalamunin sila ni Gazini ng buong-buo! Good job Ms. Philippines!!! I’m still very proud of you!

On the other hand, malamang napansin ng MUO na may capacity ang bansa ng current winner na mag host ng pageant nila since impressive ang ang nakaraang national pageant ng SA. If so, another opportunity for MUO to earn $$$.

1. Swap MGI for RH.
2. Drop Supranational. This needs to also become a stand-alone national pageant.
3. Negotiate for the Filipinas franchise of an India-based international pageant.
4. With MUP out of the picture, advocacy/empowerment can be de-emphasized in favor of “old-fashioned” beaucon pleasantries. 🙂
5. Also consider getting franchises for Bikini and Model competitions, even just through appointment and not necessarily a formal sash on Pageant Night.
