  5. Baka maputla nman ang trending next year haha otherwise hanap na nang dark yung mata lang ang makikita para todo na hahaha

  6. Katarina Rodriguez for miss universe philippines 2020. She will turn 28 before the pageant next year so qualified pa siya. She is super gorgeous, fit and eloquent. She was concise during the q and a sa miss intercon, but she was not during her miss world stint. She needs to improve pa, thought the innate gift for speaking well is there na. GO KATARINA !!!

  7. I feel bad for BBP. I hope they get the other pageant owners like Mutya and MEP to stage just one pageant.

  8. BBP’s track record fr MU is great. MUP will have an uphill battle ahead. If anything MU2019 showed that they can drop the Philippines from going further in the competition without fear of its fans. They could do it again next year. MUP could have the same fate of Diva in India.

Wag lang sana magdagdag ng minor titles ang MUP like what MWP did. It really cheapens it. If they do, sana hinayaan na lang nila sa BBP ang MUP.

  9. A stand alone pageant and now under a new franchise! This means that past Bb Pilipinas winners (except for past Bb Pilipinas Universe titleholders) who are still age-eligible could now compete again for MUP.

  10. This is good. This allows worthy gurls to rejoin again the same year without being locked to minor titles and from joining the pageant once again. I hated this in BPCI.

  11. Samantha Lo if kudaan lang din naman
polish na ang pasarela ni AteGirl
    ok na passport nya eh

pasok sa banga yan for sure

    • Sam Lo
      Katarina Rodriguez
      Karen Ibasco
      Ahtisa Manalo
      Patch Magtanong
      Boy Abunda
      MatMat Centino

      kudaan ang labanan
pero should have a strong resume and advocacy
      ganun na ang labanan now

  12. Nadagdagan na ang chair sa trip to Jerusalem…BBP –Mutya — MEP — MWP — and now MUP….bongga! Sbi nga ni Sarah G “Ikot ikot lang…ikot ikot..ikot.” literally and figuratively.

  13. Eto na ba yung wala nang ma disqualify dahil nag pose sa ibang magazine na against sa bpci rules.

  14. Paging Samantha Lo… MUP is now created! Kuha ka lang passport thru legal processing in DFA.

  15. Interesting… Could it be just like Miss Diva. After a good run with Femina Miss India, the franchise was transferred to Miss Diva which didn’t have any big win. Miss World is still with Femina and they are still winning.

Hope all the success in international competition didn’t get into some people ‘s head. Anyways, best of luck.

  16. How many candidates can this new group lasso into joining this only-one-crown-up-for-grabs competition every single year going forward? 10? 15? 20? And with Jonas at the helm, please no more KF girls. Another KF girl broke the streak Venus started! Coincidence all three came from the same camp?! 🤔

    • True na true ka diyan! No to jejecamp.na please. They should stick to Miss Earth where they truly belong

  17. The change of hands was inevitable. I am all for it. The question in my mind is this new Miss Universe group connected with the group of Charity Singson who tried to wrestle the franchise from BPCI last year!

  18. Upsetting, but not surprised. It’s time to stop relegating MU worthy women to “lesser” national titles and start having a separate pageant to focus on finding the woman to send to MU and not worry about the numerous other titles. I would have loved to see previous queens like Patch and Kylie represent the PI on the MU stage but that will never happen.
Above all, I hope MUP will now have better production and better camera work. BBP seems like a cheap show despite how successful they’ve been the past few years in producing international winners.

  19. kahit sino pa padala duon kapag hindi total package tulad nila Pia and Catriona
eh papalakpak na lang ang Pinas

  20. They say show business is ungrateful, and so is pageantry. Napakalungkot nito for BPCI being ditched after a half century of running MUP. I cannot imagine BPCI without MUP. MUP is BPCI’s life blood and reason for being. Kapag tinanggal nyo sa kanila ang MUP para nyo na rin silang pinatay. Whether there is life for BPCI after MUP, your guess is as good as mine.

  21. That would be so interesting. Those who have won titles before can join again. I’d like Megan Young but it would be bizarre to have double-titles and looks desperate. Nicole Cordoves is a good speaker, but sometimes I still dream of the likes of Mutya Datul, Anne Colis, Kris Janson, and Karel Gallman’s face up there. Patch Magtanong still needs time to tone up some muscles. Wow the list goes on, I am sure we will see a lot of familiar faces.

  22. oh, and BTW, sana hindi yan yung crown nila (yung nasa poster) LOL Sana they’ll have a jewelmer.. or any design na mas maganda pa sa Mouawad LOL

  23. Therefore I conclude that after winning MIP last year, I can join again MUP next year😊
Recycle, recycle and recycle is the theme of MUP 2020😆

  24. It kinda saddens me that MUP will leave the BPCI family na. Though i am okay with MUP being with BPCI BUT with other people heading / training the MUP candidate.

But then again, maybe it is about time. Shamce Supsup will be the national director. BUT will she really has a say? I mean baka mamaya mas masusunod pa din si Jonas. LOL But i believe naman in Shamcey. she’s one of the smartest MUP we had so.. yeah, plus Albert Andrada as the design council head.. sana lang kahit siya na ang design council head, madamitan pa rin ng ibang designer ang MUP..

Now it kinda sunk in na pwde sigurong kaya di tayo pina advance is to stop na the streak bpci had and it’s time na talaga na magchange of guards.. Okay lang sakin ngayon.. huwag lang si Chavit ang kukuha. LOL

But guys, sana we still support BPCI. afterall, BPCI is still BPCI kahit na wala na ang MUP. let’s show them love and support pag BBP season na. aminin niyo, mas exciting, mas competitive pag BBP season. hindi mo alam sino ang makakakuha ng anong title. LOL

But I wonder bakit hindi nila napili si Pia as part of the MUPo also Cat. but then again, maybe mas alam nila yan. lol

    • Because Cat and Pia are not UP grads, maybe? I noticed that the team is composed of UP grads kase, magkaka-wavelength daw. You know, kaming mga taga-UP ay self-enttiled. ‘Yan, inunahan ko na. Lol.

      That’s all.

      • Seriously, Pia and Cat have careers to boost after MU. They are in demand here in abroad, so wala silang time siguro to join MUPO. But of course, they can lend their time to be mentors sa mga winners ng MUP.

        That’s all.

    • And ano naman kung masunod si Jonas… eh kung nasunod si Jonas edi sana nakahawak ng mic ang Pinas at hindi clapper…

    • Just because they won doesn’t mean they’ll be fit for the job.

Shamcey is smart. Pia is street smart. Pia also a busy career at the moment. I am sure that Catriona will be hustling too from day 1.

I like Shamcey; I think Jonas has been grooming her anyway.

  25. What do you have to say Norman? You were one of those last year who vehemently and unequivocally opposed this move sticking to the old fashioned ways of Bb.? This is the new generation and it’s time to surrender your withered flag.

    • If memory serves me right, it was my guesting on CNN Philippines last December 2018 where I prematurely spilled the beans on a pending departure of Miss Universe from BPCI. That really sent shock waves to the organization then. Personally, it was just a matter of time before the inevitable happens. And it did today.

  26. bakit naman ang South Africa nung nag change of guards
    eh sunud sunod panalo
    MU and MW pa

i think it is about time

  27. The plot is timing.

I just had a wild thought that the MUO did not let Gazini advance to the top 10 because, if they did, our rep might continuously make it to the top 10, 6, or eventually be declared a back-to-back MU winner, who knows, right? And that would peril the supposed pulling off of the franchise from the BPCI.

Anyway, I am a bit emotional because I am going to miss the grandiose annual BbP parade at the Araneta Center with MUP as the top crown. Oh, no! I hope it would not halt our continuous streak in MU. Look at what happened to India and Venezuela when they had change of guards in their MUP franchise! I hope I am wrong.

The new MUPO will be manned by the experts in pageantry led by Jonas Gaffud. I thought his assignment as MUP consultant was his apprentice as a prelude to becoming the MUPO Creative Director. Congratulations and good luck!

    P.S.
Tito Norms, now that MUO has spoken that it is indeed Gazini who won the Best in National Costume, Mama Cary’s creation deserves a space in your blog. Plus, could you share to us the evening gown that Gaz should have worn?

    That’s all.

    • You have a wild imagination. it won’t be fair to Gazini to be the pawn for this transfer and Ms U a credible org won’t let this happen. Win or lose, this transfer is bound to happen. Nevertheless, it’s going to an exciting event to watch out for. New faces, new ideas, it’s gonna be awesome if handled well.

      • Per my understanding based on what I read during the height of the franchise issue, MUO could not take away the franchise from BPCI while the winning BPCI bet to MU is sitting.

        That’s all.

    • Your opinion on this issue is precisely right! I agree with you 100%. I believe Indonesia is not beautiful and stunning enough to be in the top 10 though the communication skill is remarkable and our Gazini speaks better than Peru and France. I felt Gazini was sacrificed to pursue this transition. Well, Miss Universe 2019 is over. We can only move on and hope to find another strong representative next year.
