  3. MAGSITIGIL KAYO!

Puro kayo kuda, puro kayo analysis kuno,

    Bakit….Judge ba kayo?

    Hoooyyyy! Kami ang magde-decide, no?

  4. there might be some kind of a historical biorhythm cyclic pattern happening in a few hours … you remember Stefania Fernandez doing an almost impossible feat and now, ten years later, Gazini Ganados is on track to repeat it !

  5. Most everyone’s making their assumptions based on what they saw onstage during prelims, BUT the truth is that a big chunk of the candidates’ prelim scores will be based on their closed door interviews – something we did not see. So if the girl is lacking communication skills and flunks her interview, she’s not gonna get too far. So expect big surprises when the Top 20 are announced.

    • Not really, lez be honest. Sash Factor is strong and this year the sash countries showed why they are the creme de la creme…

Tito Norm’s list is a safe bet except for Argentina (WTF?) lololol. Maybe 30 years ago, which is Lola Osmel’s favorite decade and his prep of her shows that.

I’d replace her with France and USA. Even with that disastrous fall, France had the best face last night. Natakot ago sa ganda niya on camera. Tapos ang landi pa a la Iris. 20 years ago Miriam Q showed us a fall is not the end all be all and history will repeat itself.

Don’t underestimate USA, especially with her speaking skills and homecourt advantage in Atlanta of all places.

Shades of 2015 bagka makita natin tomorrow night.

      • Sure the so-called “sash factor” countries are strong onstage, as they should be. But it’s the results of the closed door interviews that we pageant fans did not see that will have a large impact on the final prelim scores.

The judges who happen to be all women, at the end of the day, won’t care about candidates’ sash factors when they make their final pick for Miss Universe: they will choose a brand spokesperson who can intelligently and confidently articulate the philanthropic goals of the organization as well as her own personal and professional goals, who also happens to be beautiful. They aren’t looking for a ramp model.

  6. dami nyo ganap
    1. hindi kayo ang judges
    2.wala kayo duon ng live
    3. opinion naten here eh irrelevant kahit anu pang atungal nyo

    vote for Gazini!!!
    enjoy the show
    if she wins the crown
    good
if a runner up or top 10
    celebrate her too
then move on to Miss World

    • Korek! Daming kuda ng mga baklang kanal na overthinkers. May analysis pang nalalaman vis-a-vis history. As if it matters!

    • plus
      4. hindi kayo major sponsors
      5. wala kayo sa closed door interview
      6. wala kayong final say sa mga kaganapan

      enjoy the show

  7. Gazini should still be a shoo-in for the Top 10. Let’s all pray that once shes there, her presentation is enough to stand out among the 10, and carry her through to the Too 5.

Let’s have faith that Gazini, Rodgil and Jonas know what minute details need to be addressed.

Let’s all keep the faith. I’m sure she’ll deliver and make us proud. 🙏🙏🙏

Everyone, let’s all unite behind her. Mabuhay!!! 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭

  8. Let her wear a red gown with a touch of bllack. A beauty contest di lahat ganda. May kasamang suwerte. Red gownis lucky for her.

  9. There must be immense pressure on KF too, for the obvious reasons.

However, 100% support for Gazini and the Philippine sash and let’s enjoy the Super Bowl of pageantry. Every beauty has a 90-1 odds chance of winning.

    Have a wonderful event, Gazini.

  10. MSeems like with that gown and low energy, she might follow the footsteps of the two previous KF girls who were stopped on their tracks on the Top 10 round.

Just like MJ her gown was stiff… and just like Rachel, her energy was low…. haaaayyyy Rodgil!

  11. I really hope that Gazini is saving the best for last. I don’t want to see a repeat of low-energy Rachel Peters cum finals night na sobrang lamya at chill chill lang.

  12. The prelims were done with and let me be brutally frank – Gazini Ganados gave a decent enough performance that could put her in the top 10, but is not crown worthy. I will explain that shortly, but first let me give my standouts in the swimsuit round, ranked from top to bottom. And then, let me rank the same people according to their evening gown performance. The idea is that first they must make it through the swimsuit round, and only those who made it will go through the evening gown portion. So I’m only ranking the evening gown performances of those who stood out in swimsuit.

Swimsuit Round (I did not penalize those who fell, because the floor was slippery, and it was not really their fault – not just one but four were affected)

    1. Puerto Rico 2.Brazil 3.Philippines 4.Colombia 5.France 6.Venezuela 7.Vietnam 8.Ireland 9.Canada 10.Peru 11.USA 12.South Africa 13.Thailand 14.Indonesia 15.Great Britain

    Here are their evening gown rankings: 1.Puerto Rico 2.Brazil 3.Colombia 4.France 5.Vietnam 6.Peru 7.Philippines 8.South Africa 9.Ireland 10.USA 11.Venezuela 12. Canada 13.Thailand 14.Indonesia 15.Great Britain

The thing is, regardless of what they wear, their personalities must clearly shine and not be drowned out by what they wear. No amount of twists and turns is going to make them appealing if their personalities do not shine. And they must come across as genuine, as beautiful persons who happened to don a swimsuit or a gown and became even more beautiful. They must blend with what they wear to make an exquisite impact. This is very clear with Puerto Rico, Brazil, Colombia and France. Puerto Rico was sleek, elegant and shimmering, yet you could feel her personality throughout, and she could be playful and sexy but not over the top. Among all of them, she gave the Catriona vibes this year, not Thailand. Brazil was regal but relatable, and her smile makes you smile with her; it is refreshing. Her gown was simple but it was classic and it blended with her subdued power that you could feel. There was a quiet power about her that is not pushy or arrogant. Colombia also had a pleasing demeanor, and her personality also shone in both rounds, confident but still natural, and not contrived. France was chic and sassy and classy. Too bad she fell but her performance was a tour de force without even trying.

Now to Gazini. What happened? Why the timid, underwhelming performance? Even in the swimsuit round where you were technically superb, your personality was not shining. You were not smiling that brilliant smile, you were not mesmerizing as you were at Binibini. If not for your perfect turns, and ease in doing them I would have ranked you lower. And in your evening gown, your personality just went to bed. It was borderline boring. The walk was a bit too slow, there was no rhythm in it, no energy or tempered enthusiasm like that of Brazil and there was no spontaneous bursts of infectious half laughter that magnetized us in Binibini. The walk was like a long yawn that was almost painful to watch, especially for a Miss Philippines that is feared for her evening gown prowess. The dress dragged you down and overwhelmed you. Who told you to tone down your performance? Was that the recipe of Mama Rodgil? Or Lu Sierra? My oh my, that was a recipe for disaster. And Cary Santiago and all designers, please – enough of these symbolisms and native things in the long gown that drown out the personality of the wearer. Put them in the NatCos, not the evening gown. Pia and Catriona wore theirs to perfection, but this time not, sorry to say. The gown should revolve around the person, and not around some symbols that may detract from the person. The gown should make the natural Gazini and her effortless grace come out. And Tito Boy Abunda and Mama Rodgil, what did you do to Gaz that her natural charisma and playful sensuality got stifled? Did you try to make her into some other persona that she began to lose herself? Did you try to make her too smart beyond even her capacity to carry it out? Her power is in her exuberant vibe that oozes with sex appeal. You try to make her look superior and smart, and she underperforms. You cannot transform in a year a personality and intellect built over 24 years. You can only harness what is there and make it shine even more, by some finishing touches. If she were told to just bring out herself, enjoy the ride and perform with her innate personality, then we would enjoy her more, and not see an almost walking dead performing at half energy. Gazini is not dumb; she has her native intelligence, and she will perform at the level she knows best or most comfortable with. And she could win that way. She does not have to be a scientist, or a lawyer or a philosopher. She just has to be Gazini, finished to perfection. That is already powerful enough for the win. But I did not see that, sadly in the prelims.

Venezuela is another walking dead in gown. She looked like she just woke up and was going through the morning rituals half awake. Underwhelming and boring. You could see the difference between her and Vietnam. Vietnam was glowing and gliding, and Venezuela was just passing by. And Thailand – the biggest disappointment. Everything about her was plain Jane. Her styling was plain, her personality was plain, her movements were plain and her gown was plain. Period. It even made her look wide. What a pity. She was my favorite to win if Gaz could not. But she did not come to play. She looked dissatisfied, as if she just had a spat with her boyfriend or a rich patron before she went on stage, and she almost looked unhappy. Indonesia was glowing too, but the near fall affected her. Her energy went down, and her gown also made her look shorter.

Having said these I still pray that Gazini could make it to the top 5 or 6, even if I feel that a top 10 is not guaranteed with that performance. And if she wins, that would be what you call destined, and against all odds. Sweetest thing.

    Fingers crossed.

Meantime, watch out for Puerto Rico, Brazil, Colombia and France. Almost shoo in for the top 5 or 6, if the prelims alone were considered.

    • Colombia and Puerto Rico may give the best pasarela during the finala…. but this is a Beauty pageant not a simple fashion show… Me saying that Colombia and Puerto Rico are not the prettiest representatives of their country in the past decade is a complete understatement…. A girl w/ African ancestry has a greater chance of winning the pageant than these 2. 🙂

    • I respect your opinion Roi but would have to disagree. Gazini was a goddess in the stage and carried like a real queen. Her smile was alluring and interesting, “mamahalin” as they put in Filipino. One more thing, let us avoid pointing our fingers at anyone during this stage of the competition. Remember whoever trained and mentored Gazini only meant the best for her.

    • Points noted and taken. But I think she will surprise and wow us in the finals ! I actually love the way she performed – subdued but regal and very queenly. I believe she doesn’t want to be a clone of Queen Cat’s performance in 2018. She wants to be a unique version of her self. 🙂

      • It’s okay to be a unique version of herself as long as that unique version of herself is better than the current standard.

      • Exactly, Jen!

Personally, I see too much of Catriona style and imagery in Thailand’s bet…as drop dead gorgeous as she is.

But who knows…it may work for her.

    • True this. Seems like with that gown and low energy, she might follow the footsteps of the two previous KF girls who were stopped on their tracks on the Top 10 round.

Just like MJ her gown was stiff… and just like Rachel, her energy was low…. haaaayyyy Rodgil!

    • I couldn’t agree more, Sir. Wow! Such a nice critique. We are definitely on the same page on this after the prelims. I was expecting a lot from Thailand too, but it didn’t meet my expectations unfortunately. Puerto Rico, OMG! I had underestimated her before coz i thought she was just like a plain white basic shakira-ish face to me: but after prelims, she proved me wrong. There’s definitely more things she can offer than her basic face alone. With Gazini, her facial bone structure screams miss universe to me. She definitely has a face that i think miss u have been wanting to crown. Gaz face is PHARAONIC, a face miss u has never had in years or ever. However, her prelim was just an A- performance for me: she needs to show more personality on stage. I was kind of hungry to see the carefree Gazini. What she gave during prelims paled in comparison to her bb pilipinas stint. Hoping Gazini will take note on this! I believe for her to win, she needs to be genuine. She needs to tap within her, the “Baklang Gazini”- the bakla attitude really fits to her naturally. I guess this kind of spirit is what she needs to rise from the ashes and soar high like a phoenix during the coronation night to be Miss Universe 2019…….

    • Let me be brutally frank, Putang Ina mo! Gawa ka ng sariling blog mo o di kaya pakita mo mukha at credentials mo.

      • Eto ung isang classic reaction ng isang bobong tao pag nagsalita ang isang matalinong tao.

    • It seems that you are well paid to malign her performance. You basically have this grudge that you actually made this avenue to really lambast her. Oh well you’re not the judge that is the most important thing. Happy holidays😂

    • I thought I was the only one who noticed… I was afraid tto voice out the very same opinion, but I agree with you regarding turning Gazini into “someone else”. This someone else who has perfected technicalities, and eventually lost a part of who she is. Even the veneers, or the lips, whatever it is that I saw…

She still can give us the crown, especially that we do not know what went on behind the closed door interview. Her heart is humble, she has not one bit of arrogance in her, which I love about. It’s what Leila, Demi, Pia, and Iris also have. Catriona is a league of her own, but Gazini just shares that Miss Universe aura the other past winners have.

I hope your message gets across to them, though we are just some ordinary blog reader here, because it will definitely help Gazini.

Shine Gazini, don’t hold back. If technicality that’s already been practised several times can’t be unlearned anymore, I am sure her naturality can seamlessly blend in just by simply having fun.

  13. The fire in Gazini’s eyes seems lacking as compared to Indonesia, Thailand and PR. Hope she gets that back come finals.

  14. Thailand is overhyped . Shes an old granny 😀 . The styling and the sunglasses omg very matrona looking. Overconfident as if she already have the crown 😂. Gazini is perfection . A clear back to back. If she nailed her Qand A thats it.

  15. My TOP 20

    Philippines
    Brazil
    Thailand

    Chile
    France

    Indonesia
    South Africa
    Puerto Rico
    Vietnam
    Colombia

    USA
    Venezuela
    Kenya
    Haiti
    Mexico
    Netherlands
    Iceland
    Argentina
    Ireland
    India

  17. Mock if my analysis failed.
    Based on preliminary competetion:
    (Swimsuit and Evening gown)
The top 6 who stood out are:
    * France
    * Philippines
    * Iceland
    * Brazil
    * Indonesia
    * Peru
But, my guesstimate in the finals’ top 6 are the following:

    Philippines
    France
    Thailand
    Indonesia
    USA
    Chile

    Top 3
    Indonesia
    USA
    Philippines

  18. France / South Africa / Colombia / Thailand / USA

    — My Final 5 —

    Gazini will be a Semifinalist

    #AllTeaNoShade

  19. I think Thailand has a legit chance. She may not have the best body but her confidence is oozing. Didn’t like her statement though about her nat’l costume performance being fine because she didn’t fall off the stage. Seems insensitive knowing many have fallen flat on the stage.

  20. Hi sir norms, Thailand is underwhelming. Her being in the list might be bec of the buzz around her as a fave? She even have love handles (no body shaming) but it’s true. She walks like a maton

  21. 1. Philippines
    2. Albania
    3. Vietnam
    4. Iceland
    5. Puerto Rico
    6. Slovakia
    7. Colombia
    8. USA
    9. France
    10. Brazil
    11. India
    12. Ireland
    13. Spain
    14. Indonesia
    FAN VOTE. Thailand
    16. Panama (dark horse channeling Paola Turbay)
    17. Kenya (dark horse channeling Mpule Kwelagobe)
    18. Armenia* *nice surprise
    19. Barbados* *nice surprise
    20. Denmark ( or Peru or Croatia or Chile or Canada or Mexico )

  22. Bet ko si Pasay before,

Pero after the incident nung ambush interview sa kanya about Gazini, na-turn off ako! And the fact na nagpa-late siya talaga on arrival sa Atlanta! Nagkaroon ng attitude ang merlat!

And the fact na gagamit daw ng translator yan come finals night!

Alam na this! To buy time for her to process her answer tulad nung mga Laitina nung time ni Natalie!

Although sa totoo lang para na siyang nagiging clone ni Catriona!

  23. No to Thailand, Brazil and Argentina. They were underwhelming. Thailand was a major disappointment. No spark onstage. I would add Vietnam, Peru and most definitely France to Philippines and India for a fabulous Top 5 (even though India’s evening gown hairstyle was so ’90s).

  24. I dont get the hype over Thailand….I love her in ME 2017, but in Miss Universe? I dont think so.
