  1. Belarus wins Miss International 2019
Philippines is back to back 1st runner up

    Congratulations Pops

  2. I was one of those who were disappointed when Binibini judges assigned her the plum of MIP instead of MUP, seeing in her the qualities that can deliver a b2b MU win for the Philippines— beautiful, insightful, compassionate, determined… a perfect foil to the lawyer social advocates in Miss USA, Miss Colombia and Miss Australia. But when I looked at the comparative advocacy factor, “World peace” vs “Women empowerment”, the superior wisdom behind her assignment immediately dawned upon me— she is by far the best bet to carry the MI platform towards a fresh new look at its peace advocacy. MI needs a whiff of fresh air to energize its trite slogan to a world that increasingly faces the existential threat of nuclear, cyber, trade, and environmental wars. MI needs someone who defines peace in terms of beauty, who pitches beauty as the antithesis of war. MI needs someone who embodies “reiwa” ( “beautiful harmony” or “beautiful peace”), the theme declared by Japan’s newly crowned Emperor.

  4. My top 8/10 is:

    Sri Lanka
    Czech Republic
    Cote d’ivoire

  5. Is it just me or Patricia Magtanong looks like Melanie Marquez and Lara Quigaman… Only difference is that Patricia is a gorgeous lawyer w/ a Cum Laude in economics and a PMAP model… She is the prettiest and most well-rounded achiever in the competition… No matter what happens,… She desserves to win!

      • @Raf

Really now?! I’ve been saying the same thing with almost all our past Top Tier pageant winners way before they won their international titles… If what I’m saying in this blog does have any effect on their chances of winning then I must be their lucky charm. 🙂

  6. If the moon and stars will align, Bea will be crowned on the exact date when Melanie Marquez was crowned Miss International 1979!

History will repeat 40 years after!

  7. My Top 5:
    Belarus – Miss International 2019
    Philippines – 1st Runner Up
Sri Lanka – 2nd Runner Up

    Thailand – 4th place
    Mexico – 5th place

  8. Wiki lists Gemma Cruz as Miss International 1964 not 1965 and her predecessor is listed as Iceland not Brazil … I think the video is inaccurate …. or maybe it’s Wiki

But Bea will hopefully seal the deal for a 7th Ph MI crown , … in Asia, her closest rivals are Sri Lanka and Japan , in Europe , Romania and Czech , and in Americas , Mexico and Canada

    • Dewi Sukarno was one of the judges when Precious Lara Quigaman won in 2005 and the altercation between Dewi & Minnie happened in Aspen, Colorado and not Hollywood. It was a party of Prince Heinrich of Germany.

Before that may away na sila. Kung napanood mo yung “Memoirs of Geisha” very similar sa life story ni Dewi Sukarno.

  10. Patch deserves the top prize. She has got what it takes to be the next Miss International for the Philippines.

I believe she will do her best to bring home the crown. Good luck, Patch!

  11. Looking back, Melanie was the right girl compete in Miss International. Turns out that during her year, the format was let all the girls compete in swimsuits & evening gowns and followed immediately by the crowning of the winner and her runners’ up. No more Top 15. No Q & A.
Melanie was already a heavy fave for the crown. Days before the pageant night, she was already adjudged Best in National Costume and selected as Chrysanthemum Festival Queen.

Incidentally, this year is the Ruby Anniversary of Melanie’s crowning as Miss International.

She got one of the most nemorable homecoming parades ever for a Pinay beauty queen. When she came home, she was accompanied by her four runners up. She was the first to have a ticker tape parade ( shredded paper showered from office buildings particularly from Makati). I guess news of her triumph was like a ray of sunshine for many Filipinos that time.

  12. Patch definitely deserves to win MI . She has the beauty the attitude and the credentials of an international winner .
But it will depend on the judges
A lot of really pretty faces are in the competition.

  13. Did the V.O.get his facts mixed up with the year of Gemma’s crowning? Because Philippine pageant history tells us that Gemma is the country’s first international beauty titlist and she achieved this in 1964

  14. Biggest competition would be Mexico Belarus Finland Canada Sri Lanka Panama possibly Colombia PR and Thailand .
Not sure about Indonesia , She looks weak and out of shape.

  15. Just noticed that when Ms. Pijuan was declared winner, one candidate jumped for joy. Don’t know who she was but her gesture expressed sense of contentment and appreciation that MI org chose the right girl for the crown at that time.

    • Parang, it’s otherwise.

It’s like napatalon siya sa announcement kasi nagulat siya and she was hoping someone else to be announced.

Yung talon niya parang, ‘Hala! Bat ganun? Bakit hinde si…’

  16. One of the favorites going into the finals, I hope and pray that Patch is crowned as our 7th MI titleholder. She truly deserves it. The best of luck to you, Patch and congratulations in advance. 👜💄💍👑💎.

  17. Manalo Sana si patch. Your demeanor, wit and stance is admirable. Yun leeg mo pa na ang ganda

  18. They are all beautiful, paborito ko sina Miss Pijuan at Kylie. I hope that fate would smile upon Atty Patch this coming week!

    • Just curious. Anyone knows if MIO is helping a charity institution in our country (if any)?
