  1. Whatever the MW 2018 outcome is, I already wanna thank you, Katrina for your BWAP project. Heart tugging it is ! Good luck on your MW 2018 journey. Win or lose, you’re a already a winner ! Thank you.

  2. I feel bad for our MWP reps as of late, they always lose steam once Miss Universe arrives.

It doesn’t help that Miss World drags on forever and has too many side events that no one understands.

How long have they been in Sanya now? How long do they remain there still? Honestly, even a simple fact like when the actual pageant is seems lost in all the ka-arteness.

  3. To question a beauty queen’s intention is very shameful. Why can’t we appreciate that despite the competition based on physical beauty, they try to carve a small difference in their own way?

And to those who like to continue with camp wars, you all need to stop being like little kids accusing one of doing something. Friendly banter is fine but some here go over the line to the point of name calling and hate.

  4. Too much bleh bleh
Di maintindihan kung ano talaga purpose
Magda dalawang isip ka pa just to understand
    War war war and war
    Parang background lang

One more, di sya compassionate magsalita

It’s too much ang nasa video
    Vague ang message

Same vibes kay “patalihog” which I have predicted
Na di papasok sa top tuff tuff

Top 16 lang yan si katarina
    Pilipino rin ako
    Open minded
    Hindi bulag
    Fan din ako
    Di Lang fanatic

    Lets accept it!

  5. we should all rally behind our queens and kings

Marco and Jeff are competing as well

    plus

    Jehza

    Catriona

who knows we could have a MW and MU for this year

    ang busy naten mga kapatid

  6. I really choked the whole time. I watched it a couple of times more yet I still couldn’t hold it close enough. I had to peel away the putrid layers of war and violence to get to the core. These are kids whose innocence were robbed by the ravages of human hatred, something cosmopolitan adults like us (unless we experienced something similar ourselves) can never really fathom.

As I see it, the aim of Katarina’s project is to bring back those kids’ ability to dream and aspire again, and to engage people to help them realize those dreams and aspirations. The disappointing thing is even today nothing tangible has been done for rehabilitation of the area – I only read about ADB loans and pledges as our government has rejected EU Aid (puzzling), about the lingering Martial Law, the alleged expropriation of lands by government, and a few fund drives. I will not say that bringing this issue to fore is pretentious because even hinting that will be grossly insensitive and a blatant mockery on humanity. I would say this is very real and those kids (and anyone for that matter) never deserve to be subjected to such traumatic experience and I feel sad for the lives that were lost from both sides of the warring equation.

Will this augur well with whatever MWO desires to support this year? We don’t know that yet. It could be that this issue is bigger than the BWAP (Foundation) itself and its incorporators may find something like this either very inspiring or too overwhelming. If the latter is the case, that would be disappointing and may put MW-BWAP’s intent on question again, unless of course there are more compelling projects than this one. We will see when the reckoning day of the BWAP segment comes.

One thing I’m sure about is that I admire Katarina for taking this on. It needs so much strength and conviction to be this bold and to take such big risk under a pageant platform. Very few international contestants (no other Filipina in my recollection in any contest in history) would touch this with the proverbial 10-foot pole. As I commented before, no matter what happens in Sanya, I accord my respect to her and I hope others will too

  7. Whew…that certainly was a lot to take and I choked the whole time. I watched it a couple of times more yet I still couldn’t hold it close enough. • Gag, it is refreshing to see that sensible and insightful comments start to trickle into this blog, which in the not-so-distant-past was a wasteland of toxic inanities. Keep it up.

      • Thanks @scorg. I noticed that too but I guess we need to open our minds to just be accepting individual points of view. People express themselves differently than others.

  8. Damn, I shouldn’t have watched that in public. Am in airport departure lounge, waiting for my flight (which is, again, delayed—I thought the current government fixed the chronic flights delays under last administration—which they did—at first—but now it’s like nothing has changed) … where was I? Haha. Airport departure lounge & the tears are gushing. Argh. I hope no-one around me notices. Powerful message in that video. Kudos To Katarina.

  9. Great BWAP! As someone who grew up in a place where everyone thought was dangerous to visit because of terrorist attacks, a cause like this is truly relevant. Emphasis on peace education is not something theoretical, it has to be implemented for it to truly work.

They claim to support “STOP THE WAR and VIOLENCE” campaign, pero papunta lang pala sila lagi sa buffet.

    • hahaha napatawa mko dun @Ath! hahaha puro buffet nmn nga db hahahahaha tapos pagandahan ng rampa bago lafangers hahahahaha at gown n pasabog bago humawak ng kutsara hahahahaha

  10. This BWAP has a compelling and timely message. With the alarming rise of hate crimes, and the brazen coming out of white supremacy, ultra-right nationalism, and religious fanaticism, this is a very timely advocacy. The right education for young minds is the only antidote to bigotry and extremism. Cliche-ridden as it may sound, it is the only road to peace. It is the only road to the fulfillment of youthful dreams. This BWAP will certainly add value to the MW brand. Good luck Katarina!

  11. Miss World Top Model – France
    MWTalent – Japan
4 to go Multimedia. H2H. Sports and bwap. Pero sure na si Nepal sa Multimedia. So may 3 chance pa si katarina H2H. Sports and bwap. Today ang final voting for ist round of H2H. I hope cat wins in their group so para may chance pa sya sa round 2. Pero ano kaya magiging basis to pick the H2H winner in round 2? Kung voting yan nako mahihirapan tayo to win that pero malaki chance to be in the top 5 of H2H. I dont think miss world will repeat the scenario during 2016 where the winner have no any fastract won.

  12. Her bwap is very timely. So may chance. Basta ayusin nya during presentation of her bwap sa harap ng judges and i hope all the judges of bwap fastract are professionals at may k talaga to pick the deserving 5 bwaps this year.

  13. Good luck Katarina. May God bless you.

But tbh, even if you win I don’t think I can bring myself to like MWO. The org is overly political.

    Sorry but still #notomessworld

  14. Katarina is now part of “dances of the world” segment. Congrats Ms. Philippines!

  15. Napakagandang message…nakaka-touch. Sadly, madalas ginagamit lang for beauty contest only. Once na matapos yung contesy kasabay na namamatay ang mga causes tulad nito except kung manalo ang candidate, mae-extend yung worthy cause but then again mawawala or mababalewala na lang din once the reigning queen relinguishes her title/crown. Siguro meron naman na talagang 100% ang dedication but very very few lang sila like Catriona Gray. Sana ituloy ito ni Katarina win or lose!

    • That is my apprehension. Considering that the issue is personal to me, see my reaction below.

  16. Good luck to you Miss Philippines on your beautiful project for the Marawi kids. Win or lose, continue to carry the torch and hoping the kids will find hope and see a brighter future through your project.

  17. She should pursue this even after MW 2018. Otherwise, shame on her for using this tragedy for pageant purposes. Lest it be misinterpreted, I admire and salute her for this one. Giving her the benefit of the doubt.

Tapos naghahasik pa ng hate towards other camps… Kakahiya!

    • But if this Catriona. Lam na this!!!! #biasmuch? hihihihihihihi

Why can’t you just support the Filipino queens? Masyado kang negatron unless of course it’s your GOD Catriona….
