Pair #7 among the Official Candidates of Mr & Miss Hannah’s World Tourism Philippines 2018 took different paths to reach their present state of life. The lady from Tarlac dreams of becoming a successful architect one day, while the representative of the City of Manila simply wants to bring his entire family to a promised future life filled with just enough to make his elders happy.
Meet Vinz Jimenez #TheBreadwinner and Loveley D. Bulosan #TheFutureArchitect.
There’s more to good looks that Vinz holds way up his sleeve. At the onset, one would judge him as just your typical boy-next-door type. But the minute, he relaxes and gets past the jokes and endless banters, you will get a young man whose dreams in life precedes his own.
“Being the family breadwinner makes me want to do more. I want to pursue greater successes in life because the future of my family rests heavily on my shoulders. This is why problems and challenges in can never be excuses to step back and pause in my long and winding journey. It serves as an additional motivation to make me grow more and be mature in life. I happily accept the tests everyday, but what’s interesting in me is that I also seek them. I am brave enough to leap over the hurdles because the rewards are greater once I put my 100% into something. Just like being an Official Candidate of Mr & Miss Hannah’s World Tourism Philippines 2018. It won’t be an easy objective to win. But I am in it to win it.”
Bold words from Vinz. And I admire him for the will and determination to rise above it all. This Manileño is definitely made of sterner stuff than most, I reckon.
Don’t be fooled by the fragile-looking built and intermittently demure stance. Loveley is as good as it gets. And I mean good in a way that depicts her overall strength as a young woman who wants to excel in the male-dominated field of Architecture. This future urban planner is designed to weather the risks and pitfalls coming her way. But before she plunges head-on into the long range, she has her eyes on the prize, and that is winning the Mr & Miss Hannah’s World Tourism Philippines 2018 crown.
“I aim for a balanced lifestyle between passion and profession for a better future. I look forward to becoming a licensed Architect with confidence and a strong personality that even a great storm will not be able to tear me apart. I’ve always believed that armed with faith and surrounded by loved ones, I can always come out better. I make sure that I don’t step on anyone else’s toes in the process. Staying humble with God’s blessings produces positive outcomes in life. And being in this competition an official is one of those positive things that happened to me. It is such a huge honor and opportunity to each and everyone of us to promote not only tourism and sustainable developments but also to voice out awareness about the act of giving back to people who deserve it and respecting other people’s beliefs and principles in life. I like how I can relate architecture in life with Sir Norman Foster’s famous quotation “As an architect you design for the present, with an awareness of the past for a future which is essentially unknown”. It is like making each day the best day of your life considering the past for the future that you may not be sure of but yearns for positive things to happen.“
The future Architect Loveley Bulosan knows what she wants as early as now. And she is drawing the next blueprint in her life based on how strong she will perform in the present.
