Since we’re done with Miss Universe, let us move to another part of the world where another one of our Queens is still competing. Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2017 Chanel Olive Thomas must be feeling greater pressure now more than ever to deliver an excellent performance during the finals of Miss Supranational 2017 this coming December 1 in Krynica-Zdroj, Poland. She remains in the thick of the fight, while maintaining the genuinely warm and friendly persona with the other candidates.

Here are videos of the Swimsuit (where she slipped into a red two-piece number by Edwin Uy) and Evening Gown (wearing a Rau Uson-Ablaza creation) Preliminaries held at AquaCity Poprad and Horizont Resort respectively. Tell me your assessment of her presentation in each round.

  1. No way na frontrunner si karina nadila. Oo get ko maganda syang tisay pero turn off pag nagsalita parang ngumunguya! Dahil sa sobrang laki ba ng venerrs?

    • Ang ganda ni ate girl sa mga pre-pageant pics nya…pero in motion, waley! Akala ko pa naman strong sya.

      I like Chanel so much. Di ko maintindihan bakit ganon ang lakad nya noong Evening Gown prelims pero bawing bawi naman sa Swimsuit. Sana sa finals, strong sya!

  2. Kaloka mga bakla ditlo. Cat dito, clenci jan, alaiza doon, gigante sa gilid, elima dun banda, etc etc… Mga bakla kayo. Mag move on na kayo sa mga recycled girls. Marami pang iba jan. Para nyo na rin sinabi yan lang mga babae sa pinas. Pano mananalo kung lahat ipapattern nyo kay pia na ilang beses sumali? Worked once, may not work again. So…. Move on! My gad! Kaumay kayo!

  5. Akala noong nanalo si Teresita magadadala ng suwerte sa ibang kasama niya sa A&Q pero puro sablay. Si Chanel na siguro ang susunod may pag-asa sa mga alaga ni Jonas na makabingwit ng korona. Yung iba ay hindi rin pinalad na makauwi ng korona pati sa patimpalak ng mga kalalakihan Manhunt International ay hindi rin pinalad. Magpasalamat na lang kahit papaano napabilang sila sa mga top finalist.

  8. Hey guys, Olive Thomas is still in the run towards becoming the Philippines second Miss Supranational! Have you already mended your broken hearts from Rachel Peter’s non-runner up placement in MU and readied yourselves to support Olive?

    Olive performed well in the swimsuit and evening gown during the preliminaries. I like her kikay walk. Her whistle-bait figure is perfect. However, the gown she wore is pageant pattyish which is a work of a not-so-well-known designer. Did Aces & Queens approve this? This is such a let

    Indonesia’s rep is super beauty and her catwalk is outstanding. She might clinch the crown. However, I still have high hopes on Olive.

  12. It seems everyone is experiencing BPF (beauty pageant fatigue).

    Recent comments are far and in between and if there are, these are very dry. After that “Ms. Universe high”, most of us have crashed and all the succeeding second- tiered pageants seem not worth it. It can be compared to January 1 mornings where everyone is lethargic, hung-over and tired after the previous night’s high-adrenaline party.

    It is in this context that I would like to thank Mr. Norman Tinio and his Team for consistently and tirelessly giving us updates that we can talk, argue, discuss about. I am not sure if this blog is earning him something but regardless, we have to give credit to the blogger for his consistent insights. We may not agree with some of his point of view, but where else can we get them? Certainly not Global beauties nor Missosology.

    As readers we always have the option to shut-out or not read or not participate whenever fatigue or frustration sets in. Personally, I did not read any pageant related news for many days after the sorry performance of Mariel de Leon and Laura Lehmann. We always have an option as readers.

    In Mr. Norman’s case, I am sure that he was also equally disheartened and frustrated and yet his team regularly updates the blog that we have all learned to love, hate, laugh at and yes, read.

    STEVE: What are u looking for?

    ROSS: I’m looking for a woman who is confident, right? Who has a good heart and wants to do a good MISSION with the crown.

    Ewan ko Lang Kung nabigyan ng heads-up si SMA about the intro video at ano Yung expected na laman pero Hindi nga aligned si Rachel. Yung vids ng Top4 is “woman empowerment” and Yung Kay Demi Lang talaga Yung mission oriented and at the same time empowering!

    Jamaica – about deaf education
    Colombia – bullying
    Thailand – teenage pregnancy
    Venezuela – gender equality
    SA – woman martial arts education “unbreakable”

    So, mas focus na Sila ngayon Kung ano gagawin mo pag nakoronahan ka. After reign ni Iris na walang katorya-torya Ang laman at palagay ko lurking Sila sa reign ni Kylie na talaga namang focused, Yan ang kinalabasan!

    So come 2018 sa BBP, bring on Yung mga alumni ng MWP na may mga existing projects na pati alumni ng MEP na may hands on sa field work.

    See! Naiiba talaga Ang ballgame! Kung Ang selection nila ulit eh Yung magaling sa pasarela, clapper Ang labas niyan!

    At dahil medyo calibrated na Ang MI at MU, it boils down Kung Sino Yung May right character or personality to wear the sash at Binibini.

    • As for the training camps,

      Despite the fact na first time ni Rodgil (maybe 2nd after MU in Manila) and two of his protege made it as semi-finalist, it is still an accomplishment. Unlike Jonas na maraming edition na na-attend-an Kaya Alam na Nita timpla pero di pa Rin perfect.

      In 3years time makukuha din Ng KF Ang timpla ng MU and their camp will produce a winner whom I hope is a Pinay?

    • Madam SMA has been choosing those girls since early 2000 pa e.g. Tere Licaros, Gionna Cabrera and Zora Andam. Quality girls with superb academic achievements. Empowered women they are.

      • I agree with you, Ryan, on two of out of the three ladies you named. Should we say that Teresa Licaros and Zora Andam were ahead of their time and that SMA and BPCI were visionary/ies because they chose women who MU now gravitates toward more as far back as 2001?

      • Those are under Trump era! If you read the article by rollingstone, Ang Sabi niya MU is a disaster when he acquired it because they chose intelligent girls than the pretty one! Hanap ng IMG ngayon is useful and beneficial, token na Lang ang intelligence.

  16. FYI lang po. November 25th of each year is the kick-off day of the 18 Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) in the Philippines. This is a nationwide campaign by the government that ends on December 12th. Since advocacies and social relevance are the in-thing in almost all pageants; and since November of each year marks the international pageant season, why not build on in this campaign para next time mas may sense na ang mga backstories ng ating mga kandidata? Yan ay suggestion lang po. Makakatulong na tayong palaganapin ang adbokasiyang wakasan ang karahasan sa mga kababaihan, mabigyan pa natin ng magandang platform ang ating mga kandidata para umangat pa sa international pageants.

    • Tapos na ang Miss Eco??? good! so Philippines can join in Bb Pilipinas 2018. She doesnt deserve that cheap Miss Eco pageant.

      • i dont think this is the one where Cynthia will compete. She posted something IG and she mentioned that she’ll be the last MWP queen to compete, eh hindi pa (yata) tapos ang Miss Multinational. Plus there would have been blog posts or news regarding Cynthia if this were the Miss Eco pageant that she’ll be competing in

  22. Thailand can be a runaway winner at MW or MI or ME or any pageant . She has a very clean classic beauty . She was not meant to be MU.
    In the Philppines , I m looking at Samantha Lo . Mukhang Hindi marunong kabahan ito at maganda talaga – Sobrang Linis tingnan . I think she may have to try the nationals several x to hone her skills .
    Maria Gigante ? I m not sure how to make her stand out . Her English sounds good but the content of her answers is questionable. Several times , I have heard her veer away from the question . What did she say again?
    Wish list : Wynwyn Cat Nicole . These girls are well-disciplined . U can expect the best from them …. under pressure.

    Pero ang tingin ko Lang sa kanya, hirap siyang i-unlearn yung “standard pasarela” to make it “casual” or “pageant Patty” na mas acceptable sa MS. Meron siyang rehearsal pasarela and if mas comfortable siya dun, yun na Lang execute Niya sabayan na Lang ng mga hand gestures.

  25. Love her swimsuit performance. I mean i can see her pasarela clearly. mas maganda. her evening gown perf was… okay lang. I don’t know kasi if it’s the venue or the gown or what pero may something lacking. I wish she had a figure fitting flowy gown. but nonetheless I think she’s doing great.

    I love her look sa swimsuit and yung photo niya with Vodi placards. Good Luck!!
