Truth be told, it took me a long time before getting the courage to post about this subject matter. Perhaps, it did not sink in the day Richard Hinola informed me that I will be one of the awardees for Philippine Empowered Men and Women of the Year 2017. I just felt that the inclusion came at one of the more “turbulent” periods in my career as a pageant blogger. Fortunately, I have already emerged from the ashes (I’d like to think so) and ready to conquer new frontiers in the industry that I love unconditionally.
And it was only several hours ago that I realized the Awards Night on December 2 is fast approaching. I don’t even know what or who to wear. I am so used to being on the sidelines or behind the velvet rope or simply covering events in my preferred get-ups. People close to me know how self-effacing I can get when it comes to getting the spotlight in my direction. Words are my best friends & companions. Dressing up to the nines is a challenge I have never learned to embrace, let alone indulge in once or twice a year.
So this is getting too long and I might start to babble if I don’t cut to the chase.
Thank you for the honor and recognition. This will definitely go a long way in motivating me even more – to do the impossibly difficult work of constantly blogging and multi-tasking but still loving every minute of it. 😊
