  1. A high-calibre candidate wasted.

She should have joined more credible and reputable pageant… #notmessworld

  2. Jusko.

    • oeeemmgee. it’s GOLDDDD. yehey. slay rachel. last week i posted here that i wish that you’ll wear something GOLD or a creation with GOLD for your natcos just like paruls, wynwyn or olive or even just like liz with gold threads/chains.. and it came true… so happy for you. 3. India MW
    next is Miss AsiaPacific
    then Miss Universe

    Asia’s real powerhouse
    India!

    • REPEAT BA ITO NG INDIAN TRIUMPH IN 2000???

LARA DUTTA ( miss universe 2000)
      PRIYANKA CHOPRA (miss world 2000)
DIYA MIRZA (miss asia pacific 2000)

YAN ANG POWER NG FEMINA MISS INDIA!!!

      • they already started training with KFamilia
so next year they will win MI

  4. It was a well-deserved win. Congrats, India! Welcome back to the beauty pageant winner’s circle.

Congrats, Laura. We are very proud of you and appreciate how well you represented the Philippines.

Now we get to finally have India back as a worthy fellow Asian competition (at di and “BIZARRO BYOOTEES” OF ALING DIONISYA – na di naman karapat-dapat at pilit-na-pilit and “ganda”, pero TOP PRIORITY NGAYONG I-TRAIN NG A&Q AT KF).

  5. I was able to watch Miss World pageant last night and I was very satisfIed with the result. The moment Miss India was called to the top 40, I already thought she would bag the title. She was facially stunning! She had the angles of Lucy Torres and Jennylyn Mercado. When she answered the final question, she sealed the deal and I thought MW had the winner.

There were a lot of stunning girls in the pageant, whose faces could launch a thousand ships but failed to advance more. One of whom were Misses Croatia and Brazil. Miss France was gorgeous but her answer to the final question was unforgiveable.

Miss Indonesia’s rep looks gorgeous than the country’s delegate last year, but, considering a lot of beautiful girls who joined this batch of hopefuls that even Laura hardly made it to the quarterfinals, she failed to enter the Final 5.

I was a bit disappointed that Laura was not included in the quarterfinals. She looked Hollywoodish in her beautiful gown (the most beautiful last night in that I could guess Nick Verreos would put it to her list of best gowns!). I just thought that she was a sacrificial lamb to this all-Filipino show (from the host to the humanitarian awardee, judge, and video clips of Stephanie Del Valle’s final walk). Still, Laura made us proud of her BWAP and the way she represented us Filipinos in the pageant.

    Ciao!

    • Erratum: It should be written as “two of whom were Misses Croatia and Brazil.” Mea culpa.

      Hi, Bong700! Where is Laila?

      • Hihihi.

Hahahaha! Can’t even state in English, eh! He loits in this page horrendously! Hahahahaha!

    • HOY ANA WINTER ASAN NA YONG PINAGMAMALAKI MONG NBI….. SAAN NAHHHHH!!!!!!!
PALIBHASA PUTA KANG NAGMANA SA INA MO!

  6. Last night was more of a tribute for the philippines. Megan young as a host, father rocky has his humanitarian award, catriona’s bwap in reference to steph’s final walk, laura’s winning bwap award this year, arnold sitting as a judge. We may not know how they’ve come up with the result like how they trimmed it to 40-15-10-5 but PH was put into limelight for positive reasons and dat is far better than winning d crown.

  7. Stop na sana ung mga ibang pinoy dyan saying this is a cooking or a rigged show. Miss world’s core is its beauty with a purpose and we got the highest achievement last nyt with Father Rocky’s humanitarian award. Megan is also there representing the Filipinos and the org love the Philippines. Even catriona was mentioned on steph’s final walk. Move on to next. Positive lng!

    • Teh, please. Do not simply dismiss lutuan issue. The end does not justify the means. Pwede kang mag-BWAP and be credible and transparent at the same time.

    • Ok fine. Still it was a cooking show as far as last year was concerned. So…

      #notomessworld

  8. Seriously, ME is better than Miss World, atleast sa ME makikita mo na deserving ang nanalo because of performance lalo na sa q and a portion at tabulated pa ang result every portion nang auditing firm SGV and company Pero dito sa Mess World, aba ang bilis ng pangyayari,From top 40 biglang top 15 and top10, . Boring Show pa Mess World ..pasalamatna lang si lola Julia Dahil respeto na lang sa pageant niya na pinakamatanda sa lahat pero hindi naman nagevolve through the years

    • obvious na predetermined ang mga finalists at hindi judges ang pumili…from 40 to 15 to 10 to 5 ang bilis itrim down…kada break nagtitrim…ano basehan? lukso ng dugo? si ALV walang nagawa…ano pang ijujudge nya eh may listahan na agad ng finalists..kaloka

  9. Julia can’t include Laura in the top 15 due to the risk that she could out perform everyone and make her way up to the Top 8 and show the world that the Philippine rep is also the smartest girl in the bunch, hence she could win since her national director is one of the judges. Julia can’t have a half-Filipino, half-Jewish-American winner in China since Filipinos, Americans and Isrealis don’t have the best reputation among the Chinese public as of this moment… If she does makes it to the Top 8, she gives the best performamce and yet she doesn’t win, there is a huge risk of negative publicity from the Filipinos due to bitterness of not winning even though we sent a highly qualified individual. And Julia must be watching a lot of exagerated & misleading news about the Philippines from BBC. 😦

  10. I do not understand how (and for god’s sake WHEN) the selection process happened. Nag commercial lang, nagka top 15 na. Then another commercial coming from top 15 announcement, top 10 na agad. Miss World remains questionnable to me. I don’t thonk fast track events matter either.

    Never forget:

    • Mismo! And look at the content of this boxes. Just a few took time to question the selection process.

      #peopleprefertohearlies

    • I don’t understand the whining about winners of fast-track events and popularity voting schemes on social media not making the list of final winners.

Fast track events and popular votes have NO real bearing on the competition. The fast track events and the like serve no other purpose but to have a contestant have a chance to be shortlisted for the first cut, whether or not that candidate is “beautiful enough” to the eyes and “sensible enough” to the ears of the jury and the organization. These are just ploys to create publicity and sustain popular attention, and ultimately generate income from franchise fees and sponsorships. That’s really why it is called a “Fast Track”.

So ultimately those who qualify to the last cut including the winners are chosen by Morley, jury, and company. When winners and runners up win fast track events and voting schemes, those are just coincidental. But while fast track events have no bearing, it may help them via name-recall during jury deliberations made for each cut.

The biggest problem I observed with Miss World is that there are NO set and clear-cut criteria and weight of each criterion for each qualifying cut. The judging is always based on “over-all impression” – whatever that means to them for a specific competition year. And because of this, I think that Miss World is the most subjective pageant in the world.

That is what makes it difficult for national franchises to select the appropriate delegate to send and prepare them appropriately for the world finals. And that is also why Miss World will never be as popular as Miss Universe among Filipinos.

    • India has had 6 MW’s . Do you think she would go to the Philippines to train ?

    • no need for training sa MW…all you need is a facially appealing candidate and connections…pulitika ang labanan..ang ND ang dapat magtrain…lol

LOL. Pero Im happy that India won! she’s beautiful! Bet ko!

Laura, thank you for representing our country well! We know you did your best! It would have been nice if you made the Top 3, cause we all know you were capable of doing so. But everything happens for a reason! As long as you know within yourself that you gave a good fight, that’s all that matters! Mabuhay ka!! ❤ Next up BBP Universe 2019!! LOL

Ps. Team Asia FTW!!! We’re dominating the Big 4 so far!!!

  12. Mga bakla! kasi kayo di natututo, sinabi ng tigilan ang pagpipindot niyo jan sa kavovote di kayo pakikinggan ni Hulya. ikumpara mo percentage ni indonesia sa percentage ng philippines sa voting 2% lang pinas.. pero indonesia laki ng agwat.. alam niyo… walang final judgement kay julia sa final night as u see walang tabulation ek ek chuva, siya mismo ang namimili.. let our girl win in their own merit, di nakukuha sa hype ang MW, nakukuha yan sa favoritism at sponsoring/hosting chuva. magpadala ng girl na maganda na sweet na di masyado palaban, ayaw ni julia na pushy, trying too hard, gusto niya quiet lang, kasing quiet ng pageant niya na walang kabali balita.

    • The Mexicans are now complaining that their candidate was robbed:

      .
A @ana_ugarte muchas felicidades, lo hiciste excelente! 💋

What are your thoughts? I thought she was deserving, but the favoritism was pretty obvious.

      • Nagagalit ang Mexicans dahil they think Ana should’ve won because of 2 reasons:
        1) Manushi copied the answer of Miss Sri Lanka (they put Nepal by mistake).
        2) our of the 120 delegates, only Manushi’s family was interviewed.

This just goes to show that Filipinos aren’t the only “sore losers.” They’re everywhere. Siguro napapansin lang natin more dahil we visit Filipino sites and Filipino blogs, but if you look at other places, other countries are like that too. I was looking at the MI IG page right after Kylie won and the Indonesians were calling her ugly. Now, if you look at Kevin’s picture in the official MI IG, the Latinos are calling her ugly.

      • Mexico is tall but I’m not a fan of her beauty. Her answer to the final question sounded too rehearsed and she got nervous that she started to lose her words. Can’t blame her though, being in-front of thousands of people is nerve-wracking!

Found the Head to Head challenge with the same question given to Miss India. It was Sri Lanka who answered mothers should have the highest paid salary for a profession. I’m unsure why would a mother would be seen as a “profession”. By definition, a profession is a paid occupation. Why would a mother need a monetary value in exchange for her responsibility in taking care of her child?

However, the way India answered was very fluid and confident. Her answer didn’t sound pageant patty. Here’s the video of the top 5 Q&A.

    • You did all you can and gave it a shot ! We win some, we lose some ! It is what it is ! Fate has it that it’s not for us this time. It’s not always about winning – it’s how you represented our country and how you enjoyed your MW journey, Maraming salamat, Laura 🙂

    • Thank you so much Laura.. We know you did your best and your are indeed one of the most highly qualified representatives we ever had. We would always support you even after the end of your pageant journey.

  14. Though Laura’s really intelligent, her beauty is not conventional as GB would put it. Aside from that, parang di sya nag effort at all like say Multimedia which were both won by Catriona and Hillary. Puro selfie Ang posts nya unlike Yung 2 na very informative with matching self made videos pa. She just didn’t do her homework hence the non inclusion in the top 15.

    • If she did, will it change the outcome of the result? Did India also exerted the same effort?

    • Dummy Lang ang mga judges diyan!

Wala Kang mapaghugutan Kung saan mo i-improve Yung next rep through the mistake made by the previous rep.

Ma-defunct Sana in the future!

      • Correct ka dyan laila este gemma@night hihihi.
India is a big investment for MWO halos same lang ang ROI nila ng China.

  16. NEXT YEAR PADALA NA SI ELIMA JAN SA MISS WORLD. AYAW NI HULYA UNG MAKUDA! GUSTO NYA YUNG MAGANDA NA SO SO LANG SA KUDAAN. Mas gusto nya ung pag sumagot simple lang at napapaisip just like megan mereia and now manushi.

    CHARMAINE ELIMA FTW IN MWP2018!!!

    • Elima would be better for MI or even MU. But honestly if I was her I’d moved on . Its apparent that BBPCI made a huge mistake by not sending her to any pageants . Just wait 10 days and we will all be saying “ we should have sent her to MU”
      #allabouttheface

  19. 2DAYS AGO EHEN NORMAN came up with his predictions : I firmly said- “ I beg to disagree, INDIA or Indonesia or a black contestant will win! I got 14 thumbs down for that comment.
Last year I said HAITI will win MU or ANOTHER UNEXPECTED GIRL . ALMOST RIGHT AGAIN.
SO NEXT TIME MAG PREDICT PLEASE BE OBJECTIVE ! LAURA (and Rachel ) DO NOT HAVE THE FACE.
    Paging FABIAN

      • Couldn’t care less but I do like proving others wrong if their predictions are not based on objective facts but blind patriotism.

      • What do you mean “somewhat true” what was shown was the reality people in the Philippines face every single day. Sometimes the truth hurts.

    • What do you mean by prediction? Objectivity gusto mo? If you are secured by who and what you are, di mo kailangan mag-ngangawa ng ganyan. Pero since super galing ka naman manghula, ayon din sayo, then you are free na kumuha ng pwesto sa Quiapo. I’m sure, malaki ang kikitain mo nun. Congratulations in advance.

      • LOL bitter melon. I was right and you are wrong … this time. Let’s wait for MU. Supalpal la na naman . I don’t care about all the thumbs down what matters is my judgement is better than most.
        World peace

      • I’m not bitter cause i don’t care about Miss World. Ang hina talaga comprehension mo. My comment was entirely intended to your post, kung saan pinangalandakan mo ang iyong MABAHONG ugali. With all the thumbs down you received, then I am right and definitely you are a mess. Bago ka mag-galing galingan sa pageantry prediction, try to fix your character first cause it’s really what matters most. Then, look for a mirror and ask yourself, who you really are.

      • Lol you are wrong and I am right bye girl . Luz Valdez . Live your life being always wrong and blind. Just wait for my MU predictions

    • Jeremi, and others here who may be addressed by this comment, it is time we stop insisting on the term “beauty pageant” as including only “beautiful” faces from your point of view, or from a classical point of view. Beauty has many dimensions, and it seems the facial or physical dimensions have become the least important in pageants nowadays. Inner glow, personality, intelligence, an easy charm, all give a beautiful aura, regardless of facial features.

I think it is the aura that captivates, not the outer look. Otherwise the mannequins of Europe who are often listless would have won year in and year out. But no. Look at many of the Miss USA winners – they were not the most facially symmetrical but they won big just the same, including this year’s bet for Miss U (who has a rather flat face).

Laura is captivating, and her aura is undeniable. When she smiles you want to smile along too. Kasama ang gilagid at nguso. She has more presence, charisma and communication skills than Miss Mexico.

In all the major pageants nowadays, there are those who go all the way to the top 5 that do not conform to your standard of beauty. I think we should just accept all the candidates as equally worthy of a crown, regardless of how they look. After all they were selected and sent by their countries or national organizations, according to their standard of beauty. As long as they inspire and make us feel good about ourselves, and they project a positive, beautiful aura, they can be crowned. No “objectivity” needed in the physical beauty beauty department, because even that has become subjective. It is really the whole package, and the performance that matter. Of course there are the politics in these pageants that many here would say, along with biased judging, but outside of those these pageants are not really “beauty” pageants anymore in your sense of the word. They are redefining the very meaning of beauty. That is why there is BWAP, eco-causes, etc.

Having said that I think Miss India was the worthiest among the top 5, her physical beauty as you would define it accentuated by a calm demeanor, the right amount of confidence and a thoughtful wit. And, she does possess a sense of mystery that adds a deeper dimension to her beauty. I may be wrong about this, but I was captivated by her when I watched the top 5 – I didn’t watch the entire show.

      Congrats to Miss India.

  20. What do you say now FABIAN? Second prediction of mine came true! Now I’m going to be vindicated after all the thumbs down on this message board. LOL #justwaitforMU #sorryrachel #ifshemakestop15 #ThailandorIndoforthewin

  21. I WAS RIGHT! I called it 2 days ago. I SAID LAURA WILL NOT MAKE TOP 15 andINDIA WILL WIN.

    • Did you bet on India on an online betting site & make tons of money? If not, then sayang naman your psychic powers 😊🤗

    • Oh puhleeez..can you remind yourself about your predictions for Pia and how you bashed her during her MU stint??

      • First to admit I was wrong about that. Since then I’ve become her fan. She proved me wrong .

    • Omg Venus rah , u r rejoicing beyond compare at Laura’s loss?
May you continue that every time a Pinay claps .
Oh well, you are Indian .

  22. Hmmm if I’m being technical, Miss Was India will not win based on her answer. Being a mother is not a profession at all

    • all the questions asked to the 5 finalists are from the same questions from the H2H challenges…and India’s question was the same with Sri Lankai n the H2H..and they have the same answer…

Top 5 BWAP?? Jusko lima sila hatihati sa award. And take note ha dati pag nanalo ng BWAP matic ka na as quarterfinalists.

H2H Challenge Winner??? Para lang kau ginamit para promote ang Miss World before the finals thru voting para mas matemp kau mag vote but sad reality is that Fast track (multimedia, bwap, topmodel, talent, sports) lang ang syang basehan para sa Top 15. So i believe Laura is UNPLACED!

For me there is no real TOP 40!!

      • Hahaa kaloka!!

  25. I just woke up and saw the results. I’m very happy India won. She is very beautiful and well-spoken. She is a worthy winner. Hers and Russia’s were the prettiest faces in the competition.

Thank you to Laura for being a gracious representative. I was never her fan but has never said anything against her. I don’t understand why we need to attack our own delegates. If we don’t like them, why not just keep quiet and support the ones we do? I’ve been very vocal about my support for Rachel, Elizabeth and Winwyn. That should be enough to show which ones I like and which ones I don’t. We don’t need to be mean to the girls we don’t like. Wala naman silang ginawa against us.

  26. Winner is pretty.
Looks a bit like Penelope Cruz.
Was Ms. Philippines wearing the same gown she wore during Ms. World PH? 😦

  27. Question for Miss England, If you could speak in front of all world leaders, what topic you would want to talk about ?
Ms. England —– If I have the privilege of speaking in front of the world leaders, I would like to address the inconsistency in global health care. I’m very fortunate to come from a country where the healthcare and the quality is absolutely incredible but I understand that is not case worldwide so if I have the opportunity of speaking of the world leaders, I would like to address that this can be solved the vaccines are available and the medication is available. In one day we will be able to have a consistent quality of healthcare worldwide.

Question for Miss France, What has been the world’s greatest invention and why?
Miss France——-I think there are lots of invention, a lot of great invention but I think transport are great invention because it able to create communication between countries. It’s a good way to discover other countries.

Question for Miss India, What profession deserves the highest salary and why?
Miss India———Since I am very close to my mother, I think a mother deserves the highest respect and when you talk about salary, I don’t think it’s just about cash but I feel it’s the love and respect that you give to someone and I think my mom has always been the biggest profession in my life and all mothers they sacrifice so much for their kids, so the profession which deserves the highest salary, the highest respect and love it should be of a mother.

Question for Miss Kenya, Cyber bullying is one of the greatest problems facing the world today, how would you solve this?
Miss Kenya——– To solve the cyber bullying in the world today is by educating people and regulating the facts and figures that your post online for example if you post something that is going to affect the someone mentally, you will be fine. Bullying is actually affecting our nation because many people are getting at psychological tortures, so the best way to deal with it is to introduce a regulation and rules that governs all the social media such as Facebook, Instagram and maybe, in case you sent something which is not up to standard you would be fine.

Question for Miss Mexico, What is the most important quality of Miss World should possess?
Miss Mexico—-For me the best quality of a Miss World should be love the that she has to herself and the love that she expresses to the world and to every people she meant. For me being a Miss World is being someone that can easily talk to everyone that can inspire everyone that is an example but for it’s all the people in this so I believe that Miss World should be love, should be patients, should be happiness.

  28. Congratulations Laura for winning BWAP, placing Top 10 in People’s Choice and Top 20 in Head to Head Challenge! The highlight of the night goes to Father Rocky as this year’s Humanitarian Award!

    • Wow as if suddenly sugar melted in your mouth and became a Phoenix representing the vanguard of the society. Are you addressing your thoughts to your own self ? Hypocrites as it’s finest. And the awards should be given to you!

    • kung makapag generalize ka ng pinoy as if you’re sure that ALL PINOYS act the same. Yung mga maiingay na pinoy are just a fraction of the entire population that think that way…parang katulad mo rin sila=, bash ng bash…ang pinagkaiba lang sarili mong lahi nilalait mo….ipokrito

      • Hindi ako nanlalait I am just straight to the point kung di kagandahan o talagang maganda ang candidate kababayan man o banyaga. It is a beauty contest after all hence Im bound to judge according to my standard of beauty. At least I dont go out my way attacking a legendary organization or a rival just because my candidate did not win just like everyone else is here is doing.

      • But you are not accurate with your statements, yet kung manglait ka wagas. Anyway, congratulations! Refer to your post yesterday.

    • Kaloka. Binibisita mo kasi Pinoy pages. Kaya kung may kayabangan man, sa Pinoy nakikita mo. Like duh. Wahaha.

    • Please no derogatory or dehumanizing putdowns of other countries. It’s just not acceptable. Let’s be respectful always in the same way that we would like to be treated with respect. 😊❤️

      • Nope. We should still uphold ourselves to standards of basic human decency & respect. Otherwise we will lose the internet to hate. And that won’t be fun for all of us. Calling other human beings “aso” or “tae” is wrong & unacceptable. And that is my homily on this Sunday 😊🤗

  30. What happened to Venezuela in Miss World? I think since 2012 di sila pasok sa semi’s? Tama ba? May alitan ba si Aleng Hulya and Ateng Osmel?

  31. Congratulations, Miss India ! May this year’s results restore and bring back the credibility that MW lost last year. Do away with politics and allow all the candidates to compete, fair and square. And enough of appointing National Directors to sit as judges in MW to avoid biased judging and controversies !
Thank you Laura for representing the Philippines – you had a good run by making it to the top 40 !
    Mabuhay Philippines 🙂
